When Peter Brown saw Florida Collins standing at the door, it was unexpected. He really hadn’t anticipated that this girl, who kept saying she wanted to return to the provincial city, would be the first to visit him at this critical time.

"Florida, is something the matter?"

"Manager Brown, I heard you moved to a new house, I’ve never actually visited before, so I specifically came to check it out today."

As she spoke, Florida Collins placed some health products and fruits by the sofa.

Peter Brown was now living in a villa, which was quite nicely decorated as well.

"You’re here already, why bring anything!"

Peter was receiving gifts for the first time, and he was somewhat unused to it.

"Manager Brown, what you said to us today was very inspiring, I really would like to get guidance from you anytime."

Peter replied with a smile, "You’re a top student from Provincial University, you’re definitely more awesome than me."

"Manager Brown, honestly, you are the person I admire most; from a migrant worker to being promoted to deputy manager of the branch company in such a short time, others think it’s because of Mr. Sahlem’s help, but I believe it’s actually your own capability."

Peter brewed a cup of tea and handed it over with a smile, "It’s just luck, nothing more. The boss has put me in charge of the Engineering Technology Department, and I’ve never interfered before, so tell me about the situation there."

Since she had come, it was an unspoken understanding between them—Florida Collins was indicating her intention to join his side. In Peter’s current situation, he really had no choice but to accept her, as he himself couldn’t come up with even one or two talented people.

Thinking about Florida Collins’ professional capabilities, Peter was also considering whether she could be of use to him.

However, after pondering for a while, Peter had to admit that this woman was indeed useful, and he needed such a subordinate right now.

Of course, there was one point that was causing Peter some headaches; after all, she was a girl, and if he used her, it would undoubtedly stir up trouble. What would everyone think of him?

Peter even imagined the behind-the-scenes gossip, that he had slept with this girl, and deliberately found faults with Fahad Thompson to get rid of him and promote her.

It was a troublesome situation!

After thinking for a while, Peter felt that placing this girl in a leadership position in the Engineering Technology Department wasn’t right, at least not under the current circumstances. But she was obviously the first person who had come over to his side—could he really not use her?

He would wait and see. If more people came, then he would consider it. If no one else came, he couldn’t put her in the Engineering Technology Department, he could completely place her in the Management Department, thereby having one of his own people there.

Quickly mulling over this idea, Peter felt that this was the prudent approach.

Florida Collins was unaware of Peter’s many calculations; she really wasn’t as politically savvy as Peter and hadn’t considered as much.

"Manager Brown, after you left, Director Fahad went straight to Deputy Manager Azrael’s office," reported Florida, who had originally come to relay some information.

"Oh."

"I never expected Milo Harris to go and console Director Fahad, saying not to take it to heart and such. That Milo Harris, really!"

This statement genuinely startled Peter; in fact, of the three, he had been most optimistic about Milo Harris, even considering supporting him if the opportunity arose.

What Peter hadn’t anticipated was that Milo Harris would choose Fahad Thompson’s side so quickly.

"Director Fahad seems to have some popularity," Peter said nonchalantly.

Immediately, Florida realized Peter wanted to know more about Fahad Thompson’s situation and said, "It’s said that Director Fahad is a distant relative of the Richardson family. I’ve heard him say that Deputy Manager Azrael has the support of former leaders behind him."

This woman is smart!

Peter Brown looked at Florida Collins with approval, as the woman had already voiced everything she needed to say.

Milo Harris probably considered the firm position of Azrael Richardson, which seemed unshakable, and his own stumbling situation, which is why he chose to side with Azrael Richardson.

"Florida, you studied business management, right? I’ve looked through your file. How did you end up in the Engineering Technology Department?"

"I have dual degrees, in two different majors." Florida Collins replied, somewhat proudly.

"Hmm, I think you would be more effective working in the management department, playing to your strengths."

Florida Collins was initially startled, then, upon glancing at Peter Brown, she had a sudden realization. If Peter Brown was truly putting effort into helping her within the Engineering Technology Department, it would indeed become a topic of idle gossip.

She didn’t mind which department she worked in, since she was familiar with both specialties. She smiled and said, "I’ll listen to you. Whatever you ask me to do, I will do. Whatever department you send me to, I will go."

Peter Brown then smiled faintly, "I’ve always believed that our cadre should be youthful and professionalized. You have both of these qualities, and I’ve heard you’re also a party member; that’s certainly higher consciousness than mine. Strive to do well."

After chatting for a while longer, Florida Collins left.

After seeing Florida Collins off and looking at the gifts, Peter Brown shook his head. He was starting to receive gifts too.

Having put the gifts away, Peter Brown sat down and began to consider the situation. He hadn’t expected the Engineering Technology Department to be like this, where only one girl would come to seek his support.

Out of the three college graduates he had his eye on, Milo Harris was no longer an option. What about Flynn Carter?

Thinking about how Flynn Carter was not one to talk much, Peter Brown knew he couldn’t place him in a leadership position. He would have to look for someone new.

If it really came down to it, he would take on the role of the department head himself. It was just some engineering technology matters, none of which could stump him.

Just then, Peter Brown heard the doorbell ring.

When he opened the door, Peter Brown saw Uncle Richard Brown leading a middle-aged man inside.

"Uncle!"

With a hearty laugh, Archie Williams said, "You’re doing well, my boy. Even back in the mountains, I’ve heard about your achievements. Never thought the Windsor Family would have a leader in the making!"

Peter Brown just smiled and said, "It’s just luck, just luck."

Only now did Peter Brown notice the middle-aged man, and he greeted with a smile, "Leigh, hey!"

Archie Williams said, "You know Salem Hill, the team captain from below. But, he originally came from the Engineering Technology Department and has been constantly messed with."

Peter Brown’s eyes brightened as he turned to Archie Williams.

Salem Hill hurriedly said, "Manager Walter, I, Salem Hill, am not one to speak falsely. I’ve had a long-standing relationship with old Windsor, and from now on, I will follow your lead."

So that’s how it is!

Peter Brown hadn’t expected to find any talent in the Engineering Technology Department, yet here was Salem Hill coming to him proactively.

At this moment, Archie Williams said, "Peter Brown, Leigh can be trusted; he and I have had a long-standing relationship."

Peter Brown nodded slightly; if that was the case, his problem seemed to be solved.
