Chapter 161: Being Targeted
Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Being Targeted
Peter Brown sat there, reluctant to get involved. After all, he had realized this was no ordinary matter, likely involving the power struggles within the other party’s family. These were influential figures, and meddling in their affairs spoke of trouble.
Unfortunately for Peter, the matter inevitably landed on him.
While the foreign young man was arguing with Dael Smith, he suddenly noticed Peter sitting there.
Peter was indeed too young, making him stand out among the group of experts.
As soon as he saw Peter, the young man pointed at him and started to shout.
When he pointed at Peter, Peter’s gaze fell on the foreigner. Now Peter knew his name was Cabral, supposedly some sort of prince.
Unaware of what he was saying, Peter could only guess that the man was talking about him.
At this moment, Peter suddenly fancied learning the language of this country. He’d been listening for a while and still couldn’t understand what the other party was saying, which made Peter quite upset.
It seemed learning foreign languages was indeed meaningful. He’d start learning after he returns.
Luckily, the interpreter was translating, so everyone could hear what Prince Cabral was saying.
"You people of Hua Nation do not value my brother. You send random people to treat his illness. Look, there, why is that young man seated there? Is he a doctor? What qualifies him? By randomly assigning some people and calling them ’experts’, is this how your country treats my brother..."
The more he spoke, the more stirred up Prince Cabral was. He clearly wanted to make trouble using Peter.
Though those accompanying him were loyal to the prince in a coma, their glances towards Peter were also filled with questions and dissatisfaction.
At this moment, Dael Smith also turned his gaze to Peter. Truth be told, he wasn’t pleased that Peter, a man like him, was being included in the team of experts. It was merely out of regard for Dr. Richardson. The current situation was already tense, and no one on the Hua-Nation’s side could wake Prince Christopher Carter. Using Peter as a scapegoat made Dael feel extremely defensive.
Dael turned to Dr. Richardson.
"Peter, you try."
Given the situation, Dr. Richardson had no choice but to say those words to Peter.
What?
Initially, Dael just wanted to hear what Dr. Richardson would say and didn’t expect he would ask Peter to intervene confidently.
Hearing those words, Dael looked at Peter in surprise.
Prince Cabral was merely making an issue out of Peter. His goal was not to wait for the arrival of Hua Nation’s experts. Listening to the interpreter, he first gave Dr. Richardson a puzzled look and then gazed at Peter.
However, when he swept his gaze across, he noticed Dael’s puzzled eyes.
Prince Cabral was a clever man. Seeing that expression, he understood. Apparently, the people of Hua Nation also didn’t know about Peter’s abilities.
That’s the case. They themselves didn’t know if the young man could cure the illness, which indicated that the young man was not well-known and probably didn’t have any skills.
After analyzing this, Prince Cabral became even more arrogant and said in a loud voice: "Your multitude of experts can’t cure my brother. What makes you think that the young man can? If he has the ability, then let him try. If he cures him, I’ll admire you, otherwise, I’ll immediately take my brother away."
The situation was suddenly intensified. Dael looked at Dr. Richardson again, wondering what to do with this problem caused by the person Dr. Richardson brought in.
Peter saw Dr. Richardson’s hopeful eyes at this time, and considering the circumstances that pushed him to this position, he became furious.
Peter’s original intention was to avoid trouble, and if he undertook this task, he would get involved in the family feud. He didn’t really want to treat the prince, but the situation deviated from Peter’s expectations, and he knew he had to step in.
"You asked me to do the treatment!"
Peter looked at Cabral.
Prince Cabral gave Peter another look and said in a deep voice: "General Wen, my brother needs time. If we continue to delay like this, and if my brother experiences a relapse, who will take responsibility? If you have the ability, let him treat my brother, or I’ll take my brother away!"
Dael Smith looked at Peter and asked, "Do you have full confidence?"
"Yes!"
This time Peter gave a definite answer.
Upon hearing this, the professors looked at Peter in surprise.
Everyone had seen the prince’s condition. They’d been practicing medicine for so many years but dared not say that they could definitely cure the prince. Unexpectedly, this young man assured them confidently. They wondered where he had come from.
"Alright, you try your best to treat him."
Dael was helpless and had to nod his approval.
"Peter, do you need any preparations?" exclaimed Dr. Richardson, his eyes shining. He had always felt that Peter could indeed cure the patient. Now, hearing Peter guarantee the patient could be cured, he became excited and immediately asked Peter what he needed.
"No need. I brought my own tools. It’s not a big deal."
Peter had completely calmed down now, thinking that since he couldn’t escape this, he might as well face it head-on. It was all just a confrontation with some foreign family.
Standing up, Peter walked over and said, "Bring the patient over. Since you need me to treat him, I might as well show you."
At this moment, Cabral took another look at Peter and said, "If any trouble occurs during the treatment, you will be responsible!"
"Don’t worry, there won’t be any problem in treating him. But you might have some issues."
Everyone didn’t understand what Peter was saying, but Cabral’s eyes narrowed, and he looked at Peter again and again.
At this moment, Cabral felt a bit uneasy. He had a feeling that provoking this young man might be a mistake.
"Peter, can you really cure him?"
At this time, Professor Smith also walked over and asked Peter quietly.
Peter nodded slightly and said, "It’s just a small technique, not a big deal. It will wake him up very quickly."
Those who heard their conversation looked at Peter in shock, thinking that this young man was not afraid of breaking his back with overconfidence. He had actually said that this problem was not a big deal.
"Peter, where do you want to perform the treatment?" After seeing Dr. Richardson’s confidence, Dael had no choice but to trust him and asked Peter about the location of the treatment.
"It’s not a big deal. After pricking a few silver needles, he will wake up. We can do the treatment right here."
What!
The renowned doctors were shocked once again, having no idea what was going on. Was this youngster out of his mind?
