Chapter 1568: Chapter 1567: Resolve_1

Reid Nelson entered the office with a face that wasn’t looking too good, and she sat at her desk, lost in thought.

As time ticked by, neither of the two women spoke, each busying themselves with their own tasks; Peter Brown simply took the opportunity to learn about self-study examinations online.

Getting his diploma was something Peter was also serious about; he felt that it shouldn’t be difficult for him.

After looking into it, he found it was indeed his favorite type of exam—given his strong memory and comprehension abilities, Peter didn’t believe he would fail to obtain his graduation certificate.

Information on how to register for the exams online and where to do so was readily available, so Peter planned to find some free time to sign up and start studying.

Henry Ford seemed to have endless business and didn’t come to the office to work today; not a single glimpse of him was seen all day.

Christian Greenhill was also nowhere to be seen, quite the mystery himself.

At the end of the workday, Ivy Cooper greeted the two before leaving.

Peter had been observing secretly; although Ivy presented herself with an air of ease, her occasional dazed expressions betrayed a sense of anxiety—it seemed things with Theodore Smith were not really smoothed over, or at least not as intimate as before.

Seeing Reid getting ready to leave, Peter whispered, "Reid, I photographed the item you asked me to get using my cell phone and placed it in your computer documents; see if it’s the right thing."

"What?" Reid looked at Peter in surprise, then quickly opened the document on her computer.

As she peered inside, the expression in Reid’s eyes suddenly turned complex, and she pointed in the direction of Vincent Clinton’s office.

"The account book was too conspicuous; I destroyed it and threw it in the trash."

After saying this, Peter then added, "I haven’t had the chance to give it to you. Just now, when she stepped out, I saw your computer was on, so I uploaded it there."

At this point, Reid had a complex look as she watched Peter; her heart filled with a whirl of emotions.

"All right, I’m off to get some food; take your time looking through it," Peter said as he walked out.

Sitting there watching Peter’s retreating figure, Reid felt she really might have misunderstood him.

When Vincent Clinton suggested that the safe could have been robbed by one of their own, Reid’s first thought was Peter. She knew that this incident was likely Peter’s doing, but since Peter had stolen the account book and not handed it to her, it must have been given to Henry Ford—no wonder Peter was promoted so quickly. A sense of hatred towards Peter filled her heart.

However, seeing that Peter had secretly given her the item, Reid felt guilty about doubting him; she thought to herself that the young man must be on her side.

Further considering that Henry Ford hadn’t shown any sign of having the account book, she became even more convinced that Peter had given it only to her.

Flipping through the pictures one by one, Reid’s brain was also rapidly considering how she could use this information.

After some thought, Reid also realized that Henry Ford might have smoothed over these issues.

She let out a silent sigh; things at the branch office were developing too fast, rendering some of the evidence useless almost immediately.

Now, these materials seemed to Reid to be of little use.

Nevertheless, her heart was still uplifted; from this incident, she knew Peter was truly loyal to her and had not betrayed her.

The account book was in her own hands, so Vincent Clinton had no leverage to use against her!

Reid Nelson’s thoughts began to shift at this moment.

Initially, upon learning that Peter Brown had given the account book to Henry Ford, Reid Nelson, in a panic, had no choice but to join forces with Vincent Clinton. But now she realized that Vincent Clinton’s rise to power was not very useful to her after all.

Her eyes lit up, and Reid Nelson thought about the act of handing over the item to Henry Ford. If she gave the item to Henry Ford, Vincent Clinton’s pretense of still having a hold over Henry Ford would surely infuriate Henry Ford. Given his temperament, would he take action against Vincent Clinton?

For a moment, Reid Nelson was unsure of what to do.

What Reid Nelson feared the most was that, after giving the item to Henry Ford, his suspicious nature would prevent him from relying on her heavily.

Right, she didn’t necessarily have to give it to Henry Ford. She could find other ways to let him know that the account book was no longer in Vincent Clinton’s possession.

By doing so, Henry Ford would inevitably deal with Vincent Clinton, which would lead to another battle in the branch office. Perhaps she could benefit from the chaos.

The more she thought, the clearer her thoughts became, and a surge of excitement filled Reid Nelson’s heart as she saw another opportunity for herself.

After leaving the office, Reid Nelson made her way to Peter Brown’s dormitory. Upon seeing Peter crouched at the door, eating from a large bowl, Reid Nelson, with some regret, said softly, "Thank you. "

"It’s nothing."

Watching Reid Nelson’s retreating figure, Peter couldn’t help but smile slyly to himself. Everyone was playing a game of intrigue, and he believed that this time he had completely dispelled Reid Nelson’s doubts.

Navigating through the bureaucracy was truly heart-thumping!

The more Peter thought about it, the more he realized his seemingly flawless plans had their loopholes. If he hadn’t overheard their conversation and transferred the data to Reid Nelson’s computer in time, and with Ivy Cooper in the office, Reid Nelson would never have suspected him of eavesdropping, the whole situation might have developed in a different direction.

That’s it, this issue could be considered resolved. For the next step, he shouldn’t get involved in their affairs anymore; he believed that the next round of conflict would be even more vicious.

After dinner, Peter returned to the office and remembered that he sent the plug-in to the Divine Domain Website last night. Today had been complicated, and he hadn’t had the chance to follow up on it. He wondered how things had turned out.

With that in mind, Peter first set up a small program he had designed on the computer before checking the email account he used to send the message.

Upon accessing it, he immediately found several emails waiting.

As he read them one by one, a smile appeared on Peter’s face. It was clear that the executives at Divine Domain were anxious about the matter, with every email expressing a desire to discuss the plug-in with him.

Peter used a QQ number he had prepared earlier to send a message.

This QQ number couldn’t be traced back to his actual location; it was just for temporary use.

As soon as the QQ number was sent, there was an immediate friend request from the other party.

Seeing the other party’s eagerness, Peter chuckled and accepted the friend request.

"Are you the program’s owner?"

The individual on the other end was becoming anxious and immediately asked the question.
