Chapter 148: The Hunter
Chapter 148: Chapter 148: The Hunter
Everyone was wearing diving suits and carrying a big bag as they entered the water.
As soon as they entered the water, everyone swam toward the island reef. Each person was carrying a big bag, and although these bags were specially made and waterproof, they were uncomfortable to wear on their backs. To avoid drawing attention, Peter Brown put some stuff from his bag into his ring. However, he still kept the bag on his back.
Wearing goggles, Peter could see that everyone was swimming quickly, especially the two beautiful women, whose figures were really great in the water.
The two women seemed to treat this mission as a fun trip, looking at the underwater creatures with curiosity.
Priest Wilson was no longer wearing his Taoist robe, and he looked more energetic.
While swimming, Peter suddenly felt an alarming sensation and quickly swam to Priest Wilson’s side, making a hand signal to indicate they were not alone.
Before Priest Wilson could understand, many people suddenly appeared out of nowhere, wearing wetsuits and carrying weapons in their hands, and they began to shoot violently at them.
Not good!
Nobody had expected such a thing. Caught off guard, the middle-aged soldier Asher Taylor was shot directly through the chest, and Camilla Collins was also shot in the leg by an arrow.
Some of the members who reacted quickly fought back fiercely. They also had some weapons, so they were not weaker than their opponents.
When Peter tried to observe how the attackers appeared, he couldn’t figure it out. So he could only join the others in shooting back with their underwater attack weapons.
Although Peter had some personal tricks up his sleeve, he didn’t use them in front of so many people.
After a while of underwater fighting and shooting two of their opponents, the attackers suddenly disappeared.
They had appeared suddenly and left just as suddenly. When Peter went to check a dead opponent’s face, he saw that it was someone from a Southeast Asian country.
When everyone surfaced, Tara Morgan, holding Camilla Collins, had a look of panic on her face. At this point, she had lost her playfulness, now experiencing the terror of this mission firsthand, her face pale.
"Report the situation. Is everyone okay?" Jason Weir’s face turned ugly. After all, the death of their deputy captain was a huge blow to the team.
"Captain, Camilla’s condition is not good. Her leg is injured and she can’t move."
Both of them were from hidden clans and had never experienced such a situation.
"Did she take the healing medicine?"
"She took it, but her leg is so badly injured that it won’t work if she stays underwater for too long. She needs urgent rescue."
"Let’s go back."
Unable to come up with another plan, Jason gave the order to return.
When they returned to the island reef, they saw their boat sinking.
"Not good!"
Seeing this, everyone felt terrible.
Could it be that the enemy wanted to wipe out their entire team?
Peter took Asher Taylor’s corpse back to the island reef, feeling somewhat regretful. If he had warned everyone earlier, such a thing might not have happened. Seeing the soldier die like this, Peter became more cautious about the whole affair.
"Captain, bad news. Camilla’s leg has been poisoned."
When everyone looked, they were shocked to find that the attackers had actually added poison.
Peter was also surprised. Camilla’s whole body was turning purple. The poison had quickly spread throughout her entire body. At this rate, it would likely take her life soon.
Priest Wilson hurriedly checked her and said, "It’s the Purple Fish toxin. We need to get her to a hospital as soon as possible, or it’ll be too late!"
"How can it be such a deadly poison? What can we do?"
"Priest, is there enough time?" Jason also knew that Priest Wilson might have a solution.
Priest Wilson sighed and said, "If we were at the rear, I might have been able to do something. But now, I really can’t do anything."
"It’s useless. She’ll be dead in 15 minutes." Oliver Bridge shook his head.
Right then, Priest Wilson looked at Peter and said, "Peter, I know you’re good at pharmacology. Can you see if there’s any way to save her?"
Oliver added, "I’ve never heard of that kind of medicine. The enemy obviously wants to wipe us all out here."
At this moment, everyone glanced at Peter, especially Jason Weir and Tara Morgan, whose hopeful eyes were fixated on him.
Peter went over and looked, then said, "I have the medicine with me. Let me find it."
Feigning to look through his bag, Peter took out a medicine pill and a vial from his ring.
"Feed her the medicine and apply the liquid in the bottle on her wound. She should be fine."
Tara glanced at Priest Wilson, who quickly said, "Apply the medicine quickly."
Peter moved to the side and sat down cross-legged, thinking about what had happened. From today’s events, he knew that the dangers here had exceeded their original speculations. The most dangerous part might not be the so-called formation, but rather some uninformed people who wanted to kill the arriving cultivators.
Jason obviously sensed the situation and made a long call on his satellite phone to his superiors.
After the call, Jason asked Tara, "How is the situation now?"
Tara checked and exclaimed, "It really works! Look, the poison has been neutralized in Camilla’s leg."
Several people went to take a look.
Oliver was amazed, "Peter, what’s that medicine of yours? How does it work so quickly?"
Tara expressed her amazement as well, "That medicine of yours is really awesome; it can even cure such a severe poison!"
Peter said, "It’s just a recipe from my hometown. It happens to be able to detoxify."
"Our superior has been contacted. Camilla is no longer fit for action. When the helicopter arrives, it will take her and Asher Taylor’s body back."
After a while, they heard the sound of a helicopter approaching, and a helicopter appeared in the sky.
"It’s here, get ready." As Jason spoke, everyone saw an explosion from underwater, followed by something like a rocket aimed at the helicopter.
With a loud bang, the completely unprepared helicopter was destroyed in one hit.
Watching the helicopter crashing into the sea, everyone’s faces changed dramatically.
"Save the pilot!"
Peter saw that the pilot had also fallen into the water and didn’t seem to be dead yet, so he quickly jumped into the water and swam toward them at an incredible speed.
