Chapter 1413: Chapter 1413 Negotiations_1
The person who came from the Johnson Family was a middle-aged man whose keen appearance was evident at a glance. He stood there with a natural aura about him.
"Are you Peter Brown?"
He looked at Peter Brown and asked with a disdainful tone.
Glancing at the middle-aged man, Peter Brown said, "If your side doesn’t show any sincerity, I can ask them to send someone else."
Since the other party wasn’t speaking to him as an equal and had such an attitude upon arrival, Peter Brown knew they were trying to use their power to pressure him, and that certainly wasn’t a basis for negotiation.
"Do you know who I represent, the Johnson Family!"
"I don’t care which family you’re from, I represent the villagers!" Peter Brown’s aura surged, showing no intimidation by the man’s influential status.
"If we just say one word, do you know the consequences?"
"Sorry, but I have technology. I believe that even without this job, I can still do very well. Besides, good wine sells itself, and we’ll be just fine without you."
Looking at Peter Brown, the man’s aura instantly faded as he laughed, "Not bad, very good. Okay then, let’s talk on an equal footing."
"Please." Peter Brown walked over and sat down.
At this point, the imbalance between the two had already shifted.
What Peter Brown didn’t know was that in another room, Reynard Johnson was sitting with a person who looked somewhat like him.
"Haha, Henry, your subordinate is awesome!"
Reynard Johnson also revealed a smile and said, "I don’t mind you trying to get an advantage here, but I don’t care about the attitude of those below me."
The young man sighed, "This kid doesn’t give in at all. He’s talented. Facing such a big power and just saying ’I represent the villagers’ got even me all fired up!"
Reynard Johnson just laughed, "Cut it out. I’m here to achieve results. I finally have a chance to make something successful here, and you can’t interfere with my progress. This project, even if the Johnson Family earns less, must be strongly supported. Besides, you’ve done your research, too. The response from the provincial city is very good; it’s definitely a very profitable project."
"Henry, don’t worry. Even at 500 per bottle, we will make a lot. As long as he can hold up, we won’t lower the price. I’m actually impressed by this kid, truly talented."
As the two of them were talking here, Peter Brown and the middle-aged man started their discussion.
"300 yuan, shall we set the price?"
"If you maintain this attitude, then there’s no point in discussing further."
Peter Brown appeared indifferent; the other party’s aura had no effect on him.
"You make an offer."
"I’ll only discuss a one-year sales contract with the Johnson Family. After one year, the price will be determined based on the market."
"What? If we’re setting a price, it’s for ten years, and we’ll take the whole lot."
"You must be aware that I’ve given another agency in the provincial city, and the price is cheap, just 500 yuan per bottle. Since you are from the Johnson Family, I won’t let you lose out, the same price, 500 per bottle. Besides the provincial agency, we’ll provide the rest to you. However, as you know, our production is not too high, and at present, we can only supply about a thousand bottles a month."
"What? Only a thousand bottles? That’s way too little for us to even bother negotiating."
Peter Brown calmly said, "Additionally, payment first, then delivery."
At that moment, the middle-aged man looked at Peter Brown with even more murderous intent, "What did you say?"
"If you continue with this attitude, I’ll have to switch to someone else."
Peter Brown said calmly once again.
"A thousand bottles are too few!"
Unbeknownst to them, they had been led by the nose by Peter.
Peter went on, "You should be aware of our situation. The county allocated a million dollars to help with the construction and a part of it needs to go into the raw materials for the wine. It’s impossible to expand the scale."
"We, the Johnson family, will put up the money for shares, we will help to increase production capacity. We will invest ten billion and hold 90% of the shares."
Peter smiled slightly and said, "We’re not in a hurry. If the wine has such a market, do you think ten billion is a lot?"
"You tell me, how much of a share will you give us?"
"For ten billion, giving you 10% is fine."
"What did you say?"
"You can think it over before making a decision. Maybe the next step is that a bottle of wine will sell for 10,000 dollars. Just think about it, 10,000 dollars a bottle, how long would it take to earn back ten billion?"
At this moment, in another room, Reynard Johnson’s brother’s eyes lit up and he said, "Henry, I think we need to reconsider this. Peter Brown is right; the market for this wine is huge. If we invest, the profits could be astronomical."
Reynard hadn’t expected the profits to be so substantial and was moved as he said, "We really should study this carefully. What do you think?"
"This project is huge. We, the Johnson Family, must take it over. The villagers are completely unaware of the situation, but Peter is key. If Peter agrees, then the deal is as good as done."
Reynard nodded and said, "We can’t let the villagers suffer either."
"How about this, our Johnson Family will fully manage the wine factory. We will invest the funds to expand the wine factory. Moreover, the Johnson Family will build that road to provide a smooth path for the wine factory. They have a share from the village community council, agree for them to join, but the village’s shares must include the villagers’ shares. Give Peter 10% non-dilutable shares."
"If the village shares are less, I guess Peter won’t agree."
"Then give the village 10%. That’s a lot."
"Alright, I will talk to Peter myself."
"When you talk to him, you could help him move up a bit."
Reynard nodded slightly. This was truly a massive interest.
Soon, Peter sat down with Reynard.
Reynard looked at Peter and said, "This is my older brother, Craig Johnson."
Peter greeted him with a smile.
Craig said, "We value this project highly. What do you think of our Johnson Group buying shares?"
Peter replied, "As long as it’s beneficial for development, everything can be discussed."
"That’s good to hear. Our Johnson Group will invest ten billion to develop this project. We will hold 80% of the shares, you will hold 10%, and the village community council will hold 10%. Moreover, we will undertake the construction of the road, and you will be upgraded to vice mayor in charge of this project."
Peter shook his head and said, "Although your investment is substantial, I don’t think it’s enough. I plan to turn that village into a model new rural village. I promised the villagers that each of them would live in a western-style building and every family would live a good life. My shares can stay the same, but the villagers’ shares should be increased by another 5%."
Reynard looked admiringly at Peter; he hadn’t expected Peter to keep fighting for the villagers’ interests. After a moment, Reynard said, "Fine, then. We will undertake the planning of the new rural village and the Johnson Group will do the construction. It’s actually a political achievement for me, so I have no reason to disagree."
Peter wasn’t too greedy for money; he had too many ways to make money and knew in his heart that the Johnsons were being reasonable on this matter. He nodded slightly and said, "Then it’s settled."
Craig smiled and said, "Peter, I’m impressed with you, really good!"
