Chapter 1331: Chapter 1331: Possessing Inner Qi_1

After Gilbert Thompson left, Mr. Watson’s call came through, inquiring about the matter between Peter Brown and Director Green and the others.

Clearly, Director Green and his colleagues had reported the situation to Mr. Watson, seeking his intervention for a reconciliation.

After Peter outlined the situation roughly, he also mentioned his ongoing cooperation with Gilbert Thompson and his team.

Having listened to Peter’s account, Mr. Watson snorted and said, "What is Maxwell Lee thinking? Does he think he’s impressive just because of ten million dollars? You did well, Peter. When you have time, let’s have a meal together. Our House would like to thank you in person again."

Mr. Watson seemed to be a decent person indeed.

Peter replied, "Let’s schedule another day, the day after tomorrow I need to treat patients at Harbor District Hospital, so I need to prepare."

Mr. Watson nodded slightly and said, "Alright, let’s leave it at that for now. Oh, and I have an old superior. When you have time, take a moment to give him a look. If you can cure him, it will be beneficial to your career as well."

This was not a big deal for Peter, who said, "Sure, just call me when you have everything arranged."

Mr. Watson became even more satisfied and laughed heartily, "That would be really great."

After ending the call, Peter headed towards the Herb Market.

Gilbert Thompson had already transferred one million dollars into Peter’s account. Now, what Peter needed to do was to buy some herbs to lay the foundation for his cultivation. If he did not start cultivating soon, each healing session would continue to cost him dearly.

Peter remembered the Herb Market in the provincial city well. Upon arrival, he saw that it indeed covered a vast area, sending herbs to various places every day and being considered the largest herb market in the surrounding areas.

Wandering through the market, Peter continuously checked the condition of various herbs. However, as he journeyed through, he did not see the spiritually-charged herbs he needed.

When he entered a large shop specializing in precious herbs, Peter once again looked over the selection.

At that moment, a Ginseng caught Peter’s attention.

It had a hint of spiritual energy!

Upon seeing the Ginseng, Peter asked, "How much for this Ginseng?"

"This is the finest wild Ginseng, over a hundred years old, and it’s rare nowadays. If you want it, it’s 800,000 dollars."

Peter did not wish to bargain and simply nodded with a smile, "I’ll take it."

Having bought the Ginseng that contained a bit of spiritual energy, Peter then saw a few plants like Yellow Essence in the shop that also contained spiritual essence and spent five million dollars on these items.

Looking at these items, Peter shook his head inwardly. If he continued to collect herbs like this, when would he have enough for cultivation? It seemed he needed to take matters into his own hands.

After searching around the market for a while longer and spending four million dollars, Peter managed to gather all the ingredients required for Body Strengthening Pills.

Carrying the nearly ten million dollars worth of herbs back to his residence, Peter did not have a pill refining furnace and had to make do with a cooking wok for refining. Although the effect was much inferior, there was no other option for now.

As he constantly adjusted the heat, it took Peter two more hours to finally produce a dozen medicine pills.

Looking at these pills, Peter could only chuckle bitterly. Being an accomplished Alchemist, the pills he produced now were of such a quality that would surely make others laugh their heads off if they knew.

There was no other choice now!

Peter felt helpless. To be reincarnated into such a spiritless place, this world was much worse than Earth.

Right, could the Phantom Realm have been configured with the possibility of reincarnating into such places in mind?

A realization suddenly dawned upon Peter.

Perhaps there really were other Cultivators in this world.

It was best to remain cautious. It was not easy for him to reincarnate with consciousness; he couldn’t afford any mishaps.

After sitting cross-legged and adjusting his breathing, Peter began his first cultivation session.

Swallowing a medicine pill, Peter unleashed the Immortal Power Transformation Technique he had created.

The ingested pill transformed into a stream of energy that entered Peter’s area below the navel. However, the pill’s power was truly too weak; scarcely had it entered and begun its journey when it disappeared into Peter’s navel.

This won’t do!

Peter realized he had overestimated the power of the pill. This method was ineffective. He needed to open the meridians in his body first.

This time Peter swallowed all the remaining pills but did not let his body absorb them. Instead, he directed the pills into a line of energy towards his meridians.

Though the energy was fine, under the Immortal Power Transformation Technique it turned into a sharp needle-like form, piercing through continuously.

As time went by, Peter paid no heed to whatever was happening in the External World, guiding the needle-tip relentlessly through the meridians.

Peter had figured out his strategy: he wasn’t aiming to become incredibly powerful right now. All he needed was to create an energy circuit within his body. With circulation in place, he could begin to gather Inner Qi.

Whereas other cultivators might need years and months to accumulate energy and go through the process of Lesser and Greater Circulations, opening the microcosmic and then the macrocosmic orbits, Peter didn’t need to follow such procedures. Although he had lost his cultivation, his Inner Vision ability remained intact, making it much easier to guide his energies.

After another two hours had passed, and the needle-tip pierced through the last acupoint, Peter saw a fine stream of energy begin to circulate.

Peter even noticed faint traces of energy pouring into his body from the Horizon Sky.

Success!

Only then did Peter let out a sigh of relief. With this smooth flow of energy, he knew he had reached the stage of possessing Inner Qi.

With Inner Qi within him, Peter would not be as exhausted when performing acupuncture, and his Recovery would be swift.

After allowing the energy to circulate for one hundred and eight cycles, Peter finally opened his eyes. From now on, he wouldn’t need to control this energy flow; it would operate automatically around the clock.

Standing up, Peter saw his body had expelled a large amount of impurities.

After showering, Peter felt remarkably refreshed.

His body had actually been quite worn, from years of toil and lack of rest. If not for Peter’s adjustments, even cultivation might have been problematic.

After practicing a set of boxing movements in the villa’s yard, his muscles and bones relaxed once again.

All set, now even if he undertook another large-scale healing event, it wouldn’t be so exhausting.
