Chapter 1312: Chapter 1312: Buffer Zone_1
Andrew Wilson said, "When entering the Mortal Realm, people don’t just step right in; there exists a Buffer Zone."
"Buffer Zone?"
"Yes, it’s a special area. Many people, after entering it, dare not fully commit right away. They stay there, watching, until they can no longer remain, before finally entering. The intelligence we have about that place comes from the Buffer Zone."
"What exactly is the Buffer Zone, and do they interfere with the development of the Mortal Realm?" Peter Brown asked, perplexed.
Shaking his head, Andrew Wilson said, "The power of Heavenly Will is so great, how could they possibly interfere? Even the strongest among them can’t manage it. However, because there are so many people staying in the Buffer Zone, it has essentially become a living area. There’s a lot of strife there too. Yet, the fate of those who die is not that bad; they simply enter the Mortal Realm."
"If that’s the case, could a large number of people retain their consciousness upon entering?"
"That I don’t know for sure. Generally, there shouldn’t be many who retain their consciousness, but there are exceptions. Some Great Powers might enter with some awareness. However, you shouldn’t dream of such good fortune. Even if they retain consciousness, the places they enter vary greatly; it could be this world, another parallel one, or a different time altogether—it’s random."
"Do you plan to stay in the Buffer Zone after you enter?" Peter asked.
After pondering for a moment, Andrew Wilson said, "It’s hard to say. I’m wondering why so many people linger in the Buffer Zone and are reluctant to enter. Is there something within the Buffer Zone that everyone desires?"
His point made sense, and Peter fell into contemplation. After a while, he said, "You might be onto something. If there really is something in that place that is useful to them in the Mortal Realm, it could explain why they stay."
Andrew Wilson smiled and said, "If that’s the case, it would indeed explain why there are so many people lingering there."
Then, looking at Peter, he said, "I actually haven’t asked how you came to be here. Could you tell me about it?"
Peter didn’t hide anything and shared all he knew about the situation of the Human Clan here and his purpose."
"You can suppress and neutralize the energy of Heavenly Will?"
Andrew Wilson looked at Peter in surprise.
Peter said, "I’ve only suppressed the sucking force of Sky-level star power. But I feel that I won’t be able to hold it back much longer, and I might leave at any moment."
Andrew Wilson nodded slightly and said, "There are many who have some means of suppression, but after a certain point, everyone is unable to maintain it. You’ve offended a great number of the Demon Clan’s Sky-level Experts on your journey. Since they’ve said they will wait for you on that side, they might really wait. With so many Sky-level strongmen arriving, no matter how awesome you are, you won’t be able to withstand it. It might be best for you to immediately enter the mortal world then."
At that moment, Peter’s expression became more solemn. Indeed, if that was the case, there would be significant problems."
"But don’t worry too much. There are many of Our Human Tribe’s strongmen in the Buffer Zone. There’s no need to be overly concerned about this. When you get there, the strongmen of our tribe will also help you. If worst comes to worst, just enter the mortal world," Andrew encouraged.
Peter responded with a smile, "It’s nothing serious. As you said, if necessary, I’ll immediately enter the mortal world. They can’t catch me anyway. By the way, can the Demon Clan also enter the mortal world?"
"Yes, they do enter, but upon entering they may not necessarily remain Demon Clan; they could very well become Human Clan," Andrew explained.
"So, are you saying that entering the mortal world is a process of Reincarnation?" Peter asked, somewhat surprised.
Andrew nodded and said, "You could understand it that way. Actually, going into the mortal world and returning to the Buffer Zone are part of a continuous cycle of Reincarnation. When they enter the mortal world, they remember nothing, but when they come out of it, they return to the Buffer Zone with all their memories intact."
Peter then thought of the Phantom Realm and the situation in the Underworld, wondering if the Buffer Zone was what is called the Underworld?
But he shook his head; from what Andrew Wilson had described, the Buffer Zone was not just as simple as the Underworld, it was more like it encompassed Heaven as well.
Of course, Peter also understood that Andrew Wilson might not know the full details himself; he probably got most of his knowledge from the inheritance Classics.
"If it can be helped, try not to excessively offend the Demon Clan. The way you’ve been killing your way through them, the Demon Clan’s strength must have greatly diminished. This is not something their Great Monstrous Powers would like to see. When you arrive at the Buffer Zone, they will inevitably seek revenge," Andrew Wilson said with a hint of concern, both admiring and worried about Peter’s path of slaughter.
Having understood the situation, Peter was not as worried. He relaxed and said with a slight smile, "It’s nothing too serious. Just as you suggested, if I have to, I’ll just go through Reincarnation right away. They won’t be able to do anything to me, after all."
Andrew praised him, "Young friend, you are indeed courageous. I can’t bring myself to do the same."
"Senior, don’t worry about it. I alone am enough," Peter reassured him.
"Young friend, when I get to the Buffer Zone, I’ll definitely speak on your behalf. I believe the experts of our tribe will protect you too," Andrew insisted.
"Thank you for that," Peter responded.
Andrew Wilson looked around with a complex expression and sighed, "After my defeat, I intended to redeem myself through a trial by ordeal. So, I came here to thwart the Demon Clan’s experts in secret, preventing some of their attacks on our Human Tribe. But after all, being just one person, my ability is limited, and I dare not use star power, so it hasn’t been very effective. Now that you are here, I can set down this burden."
Hearing these words, Peter knew that Andrew intended to leave and asked, "Senior, are you planning to leave now?"
Nodding faintly, Andrew Wilson said, "Indeed, it’s time for me to leave. The rest here I leave to you, young friend."
As he finished speaking, Andrew Wilson’s aura blossomed, and he said to Peter, "I’ll go lead that Old Monster away."
Moving with agility, Andrew Wilson darted towards the direction of the two-star Old Monster he had been fighting, disappearing like a shooting star.
Peter remained, sitting there and digesting the information provided by Andrew Wilson. The more he pondered, the more insights arose in his mind. He knew that he had to prepare himself as well; it was not possible to stay in the Buffer Zone for much longer. He didn’t dwell much on the idea of help from the strongmen of the Human Clan. It’s better to rely on oneself than to depend on others, after all, everything had to depend on his own strength.
