Chapter 1269: Chapter 1269: Waiting for the Great Elder_1
Just as Peter Brown began to teleport, the Beast Sect also faced a more massive attack.
Facing wave after wave of assaults, the disciples of the Beast Sect noticed something new—the opposers seemed intent on breaking the formation, launching relentless attacks without a hint of pausing.
Two days had passed, and now the disciples of the Beast Sect were all pale, having exhausted the Immortal power they could muster, their bodies almost completely drained from the incessant channeling of power.
At this moment, Raina Carter sat there, powerless, with a somewhat vacant look in her eyes.
Looking at the Miscellaneous Disciples, most had already collapsed from sheer exhaustion.
Gazing out through the huge transparent defense shield, Raina Carter felt as if she was nearing death, faced with such relentless waves of attack; she wondered if she would ever see her man again.
Raina Carter was initially repulsed by Leo White, but after being tormented in the forest, she began to revel in that sensation of being oppressed.
In fact, Raina Carter had long felt that Leo White was not himself, probably an imposter, but what of it? The man had already become hers, and that sort of man was just what she needed.
Thinking about this, Raina Carter’s mind brought forth memories of intimate scenes with that man, and she couldn’t help letting out a soft moan.
"Raina, are you thinking about the things that man did to you? Confess honestly," a beauty whispered in Raina Carter’s ear.
Turning to look at the beautiful woman, Raina Carter’s face suddenly blushed and she said, "What are you talking about?"
"Really, Raina, tell the truth. I’ve never experienced a man’s touch, and I wouldn’t die in peace without it!"
Raina Carter laughed and said, "When the time comes, you can be a concubine in Our House. I’ll have my man take good care of you."
"Is your man that awesome?"
"Of course, he’ll make you wish for death and yearn for Immortality."
The two whispered to each other, and Raina Carter became more excited as they talked, feeling herself nearing a climax once again.
At that moment, Luke received a message from Leonardo Smith.
"Ladies, the Sect Master has sent the Great Elder. According to the Sect Master, he used the teleportation artifact, so the Great Elder will definitely arrive promptly."
"Wasn’t the Great Elder ambushed by the Four Sects right when we started fighting?" Sheldon Evans asked, confused.
"It’s a new Great Elder appointed by the Sect Master, named Peter Brown."
"Never heard of him," Yu Mingzhen pondered and then shook his head.
Luke said, "Great Elder Peter is already on his way alone and should be arriving soon."
"But, what can an unheard-of Great Elder do?"
"Regardless, this is the reinforcement the Sect Master can send. We should still spread the news. It might boost everyone’s morale, otherwise we won’t be able to hold on."
Sheldon Evans gave a wry smile and said, "A Great Elder, even if his cultivation is powerful, how could he change this situation? Let’s not end up deflating our morale instead of boosting it."
All three of them shook their heads, fearing the Beast Sect was indeed doomed, with the Sect Master having no one else to dispatch.
However, after some thought, they still relayed the news, adding that the Sect Master’s reinforcements were almost upon them.
"Perhaps this is our last stand!" Luke looked at the Four Sects Alliance, which was still launching attacks, and sighed as he infused more Immortal power into a formation disk.
Everyone continued to supply energy frantically.
"Report, the Immortal Stones can only hold for another two hours."
A Profound Immortal-level figure hurried over and delivered the distressing news.
Upon hearing this, everyone’s expressions changed drastically—the Immortal Stones were the foundation for maintaining the defensive formation.
"What’s happening? Weren’t they supposed to last for a few days?" Luke demanded sternly.
"Elder Luke, the enemy has been attacking in rotations and using formation against formation tactics. They are also infusing Immortal power. To repel them, we had to increase our power output, leading to an excessive drain," reported the subordinate.
Everyone was well aware of the cause, but their expressions only became grimmer upon hearing this.
Two hours?
Realizing they could only withstand such a short duration, the three elders exchanged glances, knowing they would soon be thrown into the true throes of battle.
Seeing the enemy forces surging like a tidal wave, everyone felt a heavy sense of impending destruction.
"Gather all the personnel. As soon as the formation breaks, we scatter and break through; each who escapes does so by his own fortune," Luke commanded, resorting to the order of breakout.
"But what about our Sect’s land?"
"Destroy it!" Luke said solemnly.
Hearing that they would have to destroy so many Treasures of their Sect, the two elders’ expressions shifted.
"I’ll report to the Sect Master first," said Luke, connecting with Leonardo Smith through the Image Device.
They engaged in direct communication, disregarding further energy consumption.
"Sect Master, we only have two hours left before the Immortal Stones are depleted, and the formation will break. We cannot hold off any longer. I propose we immediately destroy all the Treasures and records of the Sect’s Chronicles!"
Leonardo Smith asked, "Has the Great Elder not arrived yet?"
"Sect Master, the Four Sects Alliance is too powerful. Even if the Great Elder arrives, it will be in vain."
"No, you must not destroy the Chronicles. Wait for the Great Elder’s arrival!" Leonardo Smith held an unwavering confidence in Peter Brown.
"Sect Master, if the Great Elder can’t hold them off, all our Treasures will fall into their hands," Luke argued.
"Luke, I will say it again, wait for the Great Elder. Once he arrives, everything will change, and our Sect’s battle will take a turn for the better!"
"What?" All three elders were astounded. If it weren’t for Leonardo Smith standing there, they would have believed someone else was speaking. How could one man turn the tide of battle?
But it was an order from the Sect Master, and all they could do now was comply.
After hesitating for a moment, Luke finally sighed and said, "Alright, we will follow the Sect Master’s orders."
Leonardo Smith smiled and replied, "Just wait and see. Everything will turn around. With the Great Elder’s arrival, you will see the might of our Beast Sect!"
After ending the call, the three elders looked at each other, seriously wondering if the Sect Master had a problem with his Divine Sense.
At that time, Luke chuckled bitterly, "I’m really curious about this Great Elder of our Beast Sect."
"Don’t talk about just you being curious; I’m also curious. The Sect Master actually says that this one man can reverse the battle. How powerful must this person be?"
