Chapter 1127: Chapter 1127: As Expected, Not Enough Money _1
The room was not very big, just about thirty square meters. Entering the room, there was nothing inside except for a straw mat on the floor.
Damn it!
Peter Brown cursed, not expecting that a thousand Immortal Crystals a month would only get him such a place.
He had just converted all his Crystal Coins into Immortal Crystals, totaling twenty thousand Immortal Crystals—that was all he had.
However, looking at the state of the house, Peter realized that his money probably wouldn’t be enough.
Setting up the furniture in the house would also be a significant expense, not to mention the daily hundred Immortal Crystal fee to be exempted from chores. Even with his twenty thousand Immortal Crystals, paying the exemption fee would amount to three thousand Immortal Crystals a month, which would be quickly spent in a few months. And that’s not even considering the cost of eating. If he wanted to eat, it would at least be a hundred Immortal Crystals a day, right?
Thinking of this, Peter began to feel a tingling in his scalp; life was really going to be difficult.
He must find a way to make money in the shortest time possible; otherwise, he would have to reside in the free Old Chores District and do chores.
At his current level, Peter did not plan to do any chores; naturally, he needed to find ways to earn more money.
Looking at the Sect Rules written all over the walls, Peter tried his best to memorize them, as understanding the rules and not making mistakes would benefit his growth.
After going through the rules, Peter then looked at the prices of the Cultivation Techniques, and he was taken aback by what he saw—all the cultivation arts had their prices clearly marked.
The purchase price for the second layer of the Foundation Establishment Technique was five thousand Immortal Crystals.
Seeing this price, Peter’s eyelids twitched. No wonder everyone said that out of several million disciples, only a few could cultivate upwards—the mere purchase of techniques was a headache-inducing matter.
Fortunately, Peter did not plan to buy the techniques immediately; he had not yet finished integrating the first layer with the Immortal Power Transformation Technique. If he managed to complete it, he believed he should be able to achieve the effect of the second layer’s technique.
Now it seemed he would have to concoct his own elixirs for cultivation!
When he checked the storage bag provided by the Sect, it contained only a set of disciple’s clothing and an identity plate. Of course, there was also the first layer of the Dark Mist Art for the Foundation Establishment Level, a Sect Crystal Card specifically for transactions, which contained a hundred Immortal Crystals, and there was nothing else.
This was the treatment for a Miscellaneous Disciple!
Peter even felt that if he didn’t find a way to make money, he would soon be sent to the Old Chores District.
Peter took a look at the situation inside the house and then went outside.
"Excuse me, Sonny, could you tell me which way to the market?" Peter grabbed a young man and asked him.
Following the young man’s directions, Peter made his way to the market.
The market was located near the Old Chores District. When Peter arrived, he immediately saw a bustling scene.
"Sonny, what do you want to buy?"
Just as he approached the entrance, a seductive-looking woman came up to greet him, smiling and asking Peter.
When Peter glanced at her clothes, he noticed that she too was dressed in the attire of a Chore Disciple.
"Are you also a Chore Disciple?"
"You jest, Sonny. How many here are not a part of the Sect?"
Peter thought about it and realized it was true; everyone here really was from the Dark Mist Sect.
"You must be a new Chore Disciple. I can assist you by offering guidance on what to purchase and can help you negotiate prices. The service fee is only ten Immortal Crystals."
So that was her angle!
Peter Brown thought for a moment and then nodded, "Okay, then I’ll trouble you."
"Hehe, it’s no trouble, the more you trouble me, the happier I am," the woman’s face was already full of smiles.
"I say, you newcomers must not be used to things around here."
"Right, my name is Aurora Taylor, just call me Emma."
There are people with the surname Snow?
Peter felt that names in the Immortal Realm were quite different from those on Earth.
"Emma, I’m not sure what we newcomers should buy?"
"Now that is something to think about. I didn’t know the situation when I arrived, and I spent a lot of money right away, only to regret it later in the dark. Let me tell you, don’t bother buying a bed and furniture and all that, it’s not much use, Inside the House there are straw mats, just sit and practice cultivation on those. As for eating, I don’t recommend you go to the cafeteria, that place is a rip-off. If you can cook, it’s more cost-effective to do it yourself."
This woman was really nice, working for money, and already considering the problems from Peter’s perspective.
Peter said, "Okay, then let’s go buy a set of cooking utensils."
Aurora Taylor smiled and said, "Don’t buy those new ones either. I’ll take you to buy some second-hand ones, they are also very good, just wash them and they’ll be fine."
Under Aurora Taylor’s guidance, Peter first spent ten Immortal Crystals on a furnace with a formation.
Looking at the furnace, Peter asked, "Are we not allowed to use items from the Mortal Realm here? How does this furnace compare to the ones in the Mortal Realm?"
Aurora Taylor said, "You’ll know once you use it. This is one of the simplest formations, but it has enough heat. You won’t have to worry about the heat wherever you take it."
Peter nodded and packed it into his storage bag.
Then, he bought a bunch of pots and bowls and didn’t spend much money, just around three hundred Immortal Crystals.
"This is a spatial storage device, also set up with a formation. You can store vegetables you’ve bought and items you get from completing tasks inside it, and they won’t spoil. I suggest you buy one."
Aurora Taylor then took Peter to buy a storage space cabinet.
After spending two hundred Immortal Crystals, Peter took her advice and bought it.
"Let’s go take a look at the marketplace."
Peter took the initiative to bring up buying vegetables.
When they arrived at the place where vegetables were sold, Peter looked over at the vegetables, squatted down, picked up one of them, and felt it for a while. A look of delight came onto his face as he discovered that the vegetables here could also be used to concoct Bone and Muscle Soup and Strong Divine Liquid.
Seeing this, Peter breathed a sigh of relief. He was afraid of not having these items, but now that he had some ingredients that could be used for concocting elixirs, he was no longer worried about the Qi guiding into the body issue.
This time, Peter spent lavishly, spending several thousand Immortal Crystals to fill up the storage cabinet.
"Sonny, you don’t need to buy so much, the marketplace is right here, you can buy more when you finish eating!"
Seeing Peter spend money like this, Aurora Taylor couldn’t help but shake her head.
"No problem, I’m planning to go into closed-door cultivation for a while, might as well buy enough at once!"
Speaking of this, Peter then inquired about the location where elixirs were sold, asking Emma to take him there.
By this time, Peter had once again thought about selling the medicinal liquids.
