Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Searching for Evidence
With a capable general manager helping him, Peter Brown found himself with some free time.
Sitting on the balcony and watching the village change day by day, Peter felt really good. After all, he had helped develop this village.
Although Phoenix Taylor was very astute, Peter precisely needed a general manager like this to work for him. As long as the general direction was right, he was happy to see her in action.
Just as he was considering how to upgrade his cultivation, Briar Henderson called.
The moment the call connected, Briar said, "Peter, do you remember Nancy Taylor’s matter?"
Peter, who currently found himself with nothing much to do, immediately responded, "What’s up? Have you guys figured out her whereabouts?"
"Yes, but that old man is extremely wary. He constantly has bodyguards with him. It’s challenging."
"Alright, I’ll be right there."
Since Peter promised to help Nancy, it was time for him to take action.
After concluding the call, he informed his parents he needed to take a trip to the city and hit the road.
Peter had many things to handle now, some of them quite mysterious. The Couple of Raven Walter didn’t meddle in his affairs.
"Give it to me." When Peter met Briar, his first words were a request for the address.
After taking a look at the addresses provided by Briar, it was clear that every detail was thoroughly documented. Peter looked at Briar.
Briar said, "I used some connections to obtain these. They’re guaranteed to be accurate. Even the places where the father and son secretly keep their mistresses are there. The locations marked with lines are the ones they visit frequently. I suspect their important possessions are contained in these places."
Peter scrutinized the information, then asked, "Where do you think they would hide the critical items?"
"We believe they are probably hidden in the night club. The club is massive, especially above the seventh floor, where no one’s allowed in. There’s a direct elevator providing the only access there. The defense mechanism is strict. If we hadn’t bribed some people, we wouldn’t know what’s happening upstairs."
"Are those marks the rooms occupied by Kendall Long on that floor?"
"Correct, the defense there is strict too. Special retired soldier guards are stationed, and an ordinary person would have no chance to escape."
"Alright, take my car for now. Get me an inconspicuous one. Also, have someone tail Kendall Long and inform me about his location tonight." As he spoke, Peter checked himself into a hotel.
"Okay, I’ll arrange that." Although Briar had no idea how Peter was planning to handle the situation, he placed immense trust in him.
"Staying in the night club?" At twelve in the night, Briar called to report Kendall Long’s current location.
"Peter, the night club is also one of our prime surveillance locations. I suspect something’s off there."
After finishing the call, Peter drove towards the night club.
Truth be told, it was a grand night club. Luxury cars of all sorts were parked outside, and numerous colorfully-dressed men and women were coming in and out.
Good business!
Observing the situation, Peter walked into the night club.
His divine senses surveyed the surroundings. He noticed a dedicated elevator leading directly upstairs. However, the elevator didn’t permit public access. Security guards defended the entrance, and a probe was installed there to notify if anyone tried to enter.
This is going to be tricky!
Peter realized that this was the direct elevator to the upper floors.
Just when Peter felt a bit overwhelmed, he saw a lavishly dressed young woman heading towards the elevator.
Upon observing her, he saw the security guard speak into his walkie-talkie following which the elevator doors opened.
Opportunity has arrived!
Seeing the woman step into the elevator and the doors about to close, Peter cast a talisman onto the probe.
Taking advantage of the guard looking away, Peter swiftly slipped into the elevator.
And before the young woman could see him clearly, Peter fainted her with a swift touch.
While inside the elevator, Peter realized that there were no surveillance devices before letting out a sigh of relief.
The talisman earlier must have devastated the probe since it fell to the ground. If anyone saw, they would only think it was a wall malfunction and not suspect there was an intruder in the elevator.
Within moments, the elevator reached the desired floor.
As the elevator doors opened, Peter scanned the entrance to find two guards stationing there.
This time, Peter didn’t hesitate. With a swift double poke, both guards fainted before they could comprehend the situation.
Strapping on the face mask he prepared beforehand and blocking the door behind him, Peter rushed out.
Without any spare time to admire the luxury, he headed straight for the surveillance room following the layout Briar had provided.
Peter realized he had to disable the surveillance room operators as swiftly as possible.
Indeed, his speed was astonishing. Just when the operators became aware of the situation but before they could sound the alarm, Peter was already within the room.
With an audible crash, the door broke open. Peter rushed in and with a swift touch, fainted the two operators on duty.
Having glanced at the surveillance footage, Peter finally caught his breath.
Without losing any moment, he switched off the surveillance equipment and deleted every bit of content related to him.
Having accomplished that, he went down to the elevator, carried the three unconscious bodies, and placed them in the surveillance room.
The entire operation was smooth and fluid, no one seemed to have noticed.
Peter had indeed learned about computers in prison. In fact, his knowledge was quite profound. Some computer experts there taught him a lot. He quickly ran a check on the equipment inside the surveillance room.
Suddenly, Peter discovered within the surveillance feeds that a place hidden in a residential area was also being monitored, a location not listed by Briar.
On closer observation, it was just an ordinary apartment building.
Peter speculated it must be a nearby residential complex.
After memorizing that location, Peter headed for a key room marked by Briar.
Despite thoroughly checking the entire floor, Peter couldn’t find anything of significance. He even saw Kendall Long enjoying the services of several women.
There were quite a few security guards, but their efforts were futile against Peter’s swift movements. He fainted each of them one by one.
After recalling all the information, Peter thought about the house hidden within the residential area.
Could it be that the key items are stored there?
