Chapter 1043: Chapter 143 The First Trade_1
Peter Brown was unaware that the Hawkins Family was discussing matters, and after setting up the formation, he took out the tablet, which was what he called the Trading System, believing it resembled a Tablet Computer.
As Peter input some Immortal power into the tablet, it began to transform.
The screen, originally only the size of a palm, suddenly grew into a large twenty-four inch display; Peter even believed that if he input more Immortal power, the screen would become even larger.
Indeed, an Immortal Treasure!
Just like Taobao, the screen now displayed an overwhelming array of items for sale.
Seeing the prices of items he had never even heard of, especially those only usable by those at the Immortal Realm, Peter’s eyes turned green with envy.
However, after looking for a while, he felt like someone had doused him with cold water, and his mood plummeted.
There were two methods of transaction: one was to trade with immortal crystals, and another was to sell items to the System for trade.
With an abundance of items in his Ring, Peter didn’t think twice before trying to sell Cultivation World items to the System, only to find all his items valued at zero -- meaning the System wouldn’t accept them.
Gazing blankly for a moment, Peter tried placing the Immortal blade on the System, which showed it could be traded. However, it was determined to be a used Immortal Artifact, worth only Five Immortal Crystals.
Considering the price of Five Immortal Crystals, Peter decided to retract the Immortal blade; he still needed it, and the System had appraised it as nothing more than a toy-like Immortal Artifact, truly not worth much.
Peter was now truly in agony; without any immortal crystals, he couldn’t buy a single thing, rendering the Trading System effectively inaccessible to him.
Additionally, he saw a prompt from the Trading System which stated that if he failed to accumulate a hundred immortal crystals within a year for an upgrade, the System would self-destruct, meaning he would lose it.
Finding it hard to relinquish an item that allowed him to trade with the Heavens, Peter was desperate for a solution. The problem was, items in the Cultivation World couldn’t just be traded away at will, leaving Peter clueless on what to do next.
Then, slapping his thigh in realization, Peter remembered the acre of Immortal Valley rice he had prudently planted. Despite trading away over a thousand grains, the yield from that acre, enhanced by Concentrated Spirit Liquid and Aging Liquid, was quite substantial. Could he not sell this Immortal Valley rice to the Trading System?
This thought caused some excitement to stir within Peter, and he swiftly brought out the Immortal Valley rice.
Just as he was about to trade it all, an idea struck Peter, and he decided to save some of the seeds before placing the rest on the System.
Indeed, Peter’s yield was much greater than that of a typical Immortal Field, and the grains he placed were very full, fueling his belief that they surely would fetch some money.
"Top Grade Immortal Valley rice, total price: Forty-two Immortal Crystals. Proceed with the sale?"
Only forty-two Immortal Crystals!
Peter let out a wry laugh, having expected a few hundred or even a thousand Immortal Crystals.
"Why is it only worth so little?" Peter couldn’t help but ask.
The Trading System, capable of providing responses, quickly replied, "Immortal Valley rice is a common item, widely cultivated, and normally priced at thirty Immortal Crystals. Your top-grade rice naturally fetches a higher price."
Hearing this, Peter reluctantly accepted, "Deal."
As he confirmed the trade, the Immortal Valley rice disappeared, and forty-two Immortal Crystals were added to Peter’s account.
What now?
Peter’s tradeable items were limited, and he had no idea where to next seek Immortal items for trading.
He decided to first browse to see what was available before proceeding with any further trades.
Peter then curiously began scrolling through the listings.
After a while, he sighed; all the good items were highly-priced, far beyond his reach.
Peter then shifted his focus to items priced below fifty crystals.
After a long search, suddenly, Peter spotted an item.
The sight of it stirred his thoughts into action.
Breath Soil!
He had heard tales of Breath Soil occasionally appearing on Thunder Star; now that Thunder Star had disappeared, Peter had no way to obtain it - yet here was Immortal Earth!
An idea formed in Peter’s mind: if he owned a plot of land where he could grow Immortal Valley rice, he could sell the harvest to the System. Little by little, amassing a hundred Immortal Crystals didn’t seem impossible.
Most importantly, Breath Soil seemed affordable for Peter.
In the Cultivation World, Breath Soil was exceedingly valuable but considerably more affordable in the trading system. Peter saw that provisioning a ten-square-meter plot with Breath Soil would cost about forty Immortal Crystals, a sum he could afford for farming.
Peter was the kind of person who acted on his decisions without overthinking the potential for success. With no Immortal items to trade and no other solutions, he was ready to take a chance.
"Deal!"
As Peter agreed to the trade, a flash on the screen signaled the appearance of several bags of Breath Soil before him.
"Collect!"
Peter immediately attempted to collect the Breath Soil into his Ring.
To his surprise, however, the Ring failed to collect it.
Peter was taken aback, and after a second attempt, he still couldn’t collect it.
What on earth was going on?
Completely baffled, Peter asked the System, "Why can’t my Cultivation World Ring collect the Breath Soil?"
"Breath Soil is an Immortal item, and cannot be collected by mortal objects."
The System’s answer left Peter speechless again, staring at the heap of Breath Soil, clueless about his next move.
After some thought, Peter considered his Elixir Sea, hoping it could collect the soil; if it also failed, he was out of options.
"Collect!"
To his surprise, the Breath Soil was indeed absorbed into Peter’s Elixir Sea.
Could he plant in the Elixir Sea?
It seemed he had no other choice!
Peter opened the bags and began pouring the Breath Soil into the center of his Elixir Sea.
As soon as he poured it out, he saw the Breath Soil settle at the bottom of the Elixir Sea, leading to some new changes: a plot of land formed, Immortal power circled above it, and the entire Elixir Sea buzzed with new vitality.
It appeared he had succeeded!
Peter quickly emptied the remaining bags of Breath Soil.
With it all poured out, a ten-square-meter section of land truly formed.
Could he now plant?
Peter felt a surge of excitement.
