Chapter 1020: Chapter 1020: Understanding the Immortal Tomb_1

After taking some time to regulate his breath, Peter emerged and extended his Divine Sense to investigate and a look of confusion appeared in his eyes, for he had not expected that the personnel from the two groups had indeed departed.

However, Peter didn’t give it much thought, ’So they’ve left, it’s no big deal.’ Now that he had absorbed so much Immortal power, Peter’s confidence had significantly increased.

On his journey thus far, he hadn’t encountered anyone blocking his path, and, with his Divine Sense unfolded, he headed straight towards the direction of the immortal tomb.

With Immortal power at his disposal, Peter didn’t need to run but could levitate and fly through the air. However, after a brief trial, he decided not to employ this method. While flying was fast and the consumption of Immortal power was substantial, Peter was unwilling to expend his newly obtained Immortal power so quickly.

Of course, even running on foot, Peter’s speed was extremely fast. Within two hours, he had already traveled ten thousand miles.

From a distance, a tomb as large as Earth itself appeared before Peter’s eyes.

So big!

The tomb lay silently within the starry sky, emitting vast amounts of Immortal power.

Looking around, Peter noticed the place was crowded with people, and there were hundreds of Great Ascenders among them.

Seeing this situation, Peter frowned slightly, ’With so many people here, what do they really want to do?’

As Peter approached, he was surprised to see an area resembling a market, where cultivators were setting up stalls and selling various cultivation items.

Peter even spotted several tea houses in the area.

Seeing many people entering the tea houses, Peter decided to walk in as well.

Glancing around and seeing no familiar faces, Peter ordered a pot of tea and sat down.

While sipping tea, he gazed toward the enormous tomb, and from such a close distance, Peter could feel even more acutely the streams of Immortal power radiating from the immortal tomb.

’Is an Immortal truly buried inside?’ Peter was genuinely shocked at the thought; if true, the value of the immortal tomb was immense.

"Master, do you require a guide for entering the tomb?" A young Nascent Soul Stage cultivator suddenly approached Peter, holding some Jade Slips in his hand.

"A guide for entering the tomb?"

Peter looked at the young man with curiosity.

Seeing Peter’s interest, the young man’s smile grew wider as he said, "Master, anyone who wishes to enter the tomb in search of immortal grass and treasures buys a guide. It contains many diagrams of the terrain. The immortal tomb is no ordinary place; it has numerous formations and traps, maps that cost many lives to acquire."

Peter smiled and said, "Take a seat, let’s talk. I’ll treat you to a cup of tea and you can tell me about the immortal tomb."

As he spoke, he threw a handful of cultivation coins to the young man.

Upon seeing Peter throw over a thousand cultivation coins with ease, the young man’s smile broadened, and he sat down swiftly, saying, "My name is Murphy Evans. May I ask for your esteemed surname?"

"Peter Brown."

"Is this your first time here, Peter?"

"Yes, I heard there were several immortal tombs here and came to have a look."

"The immortal tombs, in fact, are numerous, all ejected from Thunder Star. However, the immortal tombs are fraught with innumerable dangers, and many have dedicated their lives without ever being able to breach the tomb’s defenses."

While drinking tea, Murphy Evans began to introduce Peter to the situation of the immortal tomb.

After listening, Peter learned that both Thunder Star and the immortal tomb had been around for a very long time; the tombs that erupted from Thunder Star weren’t limited to just this one but were many. And a plethora of powers and individuals sought to unlock its mysteries over time, yet without exception, the immortal tomb remained unopened.

"Are you saying the immortal tomb has never been opened, and everyone is just wandering on its surface?" Peter was left rather speechless.

Murphy Evans nodded and said, "That’s actually the case. The immortal tomb has now simply become a tourist spot. Formation masters have tried to decode it, but the result is they simply can’t break through. Some used powerful means to attempt Breaking Formation, and do you guess the outcome?"

"I suppose the counterattack from the formation’s power was too strong?" guessed Peter, who was also a formation master.

Nodding, Murphy Evans replied, "Correct. The immortal tomb has its own immortal formation. Anyone trying to force their way through can imagine the result. The counterattack is enormously powerful; formation masters have been turned into Flying Ashes by it, and the aftermath wiped out all the cultivators present on the immortal tomb."

Peter nodded inwardly, understanding that the immortal tomb was guarded by Immortal power, which was undeniably a formidable force.

"If that’s the case, why does everyone still go up there?"

"Master, you might not be aware, but even though the immortal tomb cannot be breached, it contains numerous formations. Under the protection of these formations, there’s no shortage of immortal grass and grains on the tomb, all sustained by Immortal power. Such items are tremendously useful for cultivators. Great Ascenders can consume them to fill themselves with Immortal power, thus ascending or even potentially crossing into the Mahayana stage from the Tribulation Crossing Period. Those with lesser cultivation can significantly upgrade their abilities after consumption."

So that’s how it is!

"You have no idea; the tomb also contains Breath Soil, a type of immortal earth which is extraordinary. If incorporated into the Dan Sea Center, one can develop a Spirit Field in the Elixir Sea. If the Elixir Sea could be vastly expanded, then upon achieving immortality, forming a foundation could be invaluable!"

Originally just listening, Peter was now thoroughly intrigued; a Spirit Field forming in the Elixir Sea!

Peter pondered over his own Elixir Sea, now teeming with True Qi and Immortal power. If the land below could indeed transform into a Spirit Field, or even evolve into an Immortal Field, it would be a true stroke of immortal fate for him.

He must check it out, no matter what.

"Alright, I’ll take a Jade Slip."

Peter tossed some cultivation coins to Murphy Evans.

Receiving the cultivation coins, Murphy Evans advised, "Master, you should still be cautious. Now, there are various powers present above the immortal tomb. As you’ve seen, it’s a huge Star Planet, where using True Qi is impossible. It’s hugely dangerous for you to go up alone."

Peter merely smirked and said, "I just want to learn a bit, not necessarily go up there."

Murphy Evans nodded and cautioned, "Be careful yourself. Many have gone up and lost their lives. Life is the most precious thing."
