Suddenly, I Am Rich
Chapter 85: Getting The Reward

Chapter 85: Getting The Reward

After a few more minutes of talking, John and Marcus finally decided to leave the office. The door clicked shut behind as they left, leaving Gray alone at last.

Silence settled in the room for a second before Gray loudly sighed.

’Hah..."

Finally, he had his own time now.

Gray sat back in his chair, his one hand resting against the polished surface of his desk. As silence continued to surround him, the smile on his face lingered.

He just finished the deal, and now, all that was left for him to do was get his reward.

Fortunately, he didn’t have any pending works left so he was free to do anything he wanted.

Gray leaned back a little more on his chair before he let out another long breath.

Then, as if he was just waiting for the right moment, he murmured under his breath.

"All right, System. I’m ready. How do I get that reward?"

For a second, there was only quietness.

Then—

[Ding!]

[The Host Has Initiated The Reward Collection.]

[Pending Reward: One Fully-Furnished Condo Unit with a City View.]

[Preparing Reward...]

[10%...]

[25%...]

[46%...]

"Why is it taking so long?" Gray frowned. He started to get impatient because of his overwhelming excitement.

[57%...]

[69%...]

As the number continued to rise, his heart started to beat even louder. Each beat hammered in his chest. His palms started to get cold and sweaty and the smile on his face just widened each passing second.

[99%...]

[100%...]

[Ding!]

[The legal ownership documents have now been issued in your name, Host.]

"Huh?" Gray raised an eyebrow.

"Wait, what do you mean—"

Before Gray could continue this words, a sudden flash of light blinked across the surface of his desk.

His eyes widened even more.

There, right in front of him, a thick envelope just suddenly appeared.

"What the fuck?" He was in great disbelief.

[That’s the land title, Host. Please look at it to confirm.]

"Okay..." Gray hesitated for a little. Slowly, he reached forward and pulled the folder closer to him. He untied the string that was holding it together and peeked inside.

The first document bore his name at the top in large, bold letters.

A land title agreement. His name printed clearly. A full property listing beneath it.

It looked... real.

Too real.

"Damn...You’re kidding," he muttered.

But he knew better that it wasn’t a joke.

Gray quickly pulled out the papers inside. He quickly scanned everything— line by line, section by section.

A minute later and he suddenly laughed out loud.

He laughed out loud as if he was turning crazy The sound of it echoed in his room.

"Holy Shit..." After recovering, he can’t help but curse.

Inside the folder was the official contract of the property. His name was there, along with the property information, ownership details, and a certificate title.

Everything looked legit. It even had a registered number and a stamped notary page, confirming that everything went into legal process.

How?

He didn’t know about it.

All he could say was it was thanks to the motherfucking system.

"Thanks system," he said out loud, with a smile on his face. His eyes continued to stare at the documents as if they were the most precious thing in the world to him.

[You’re welcome, Host.]

"But what do I do with this?"

[Please visit the partnered firm tomorrow morning to finalize the ownership registration, Host. You would see it at the second page in the folder.]

[Simply present that land title to one of the on-site agents and your ID. They’ve been notified already. Everything else will be handled for you.]

"I see..." Gray stared down at the envelope in his hands.

A condo.

Just like that.

Five minutes ago, he didn’t have anything to his name but this company. But now, he got himself a condo.

Gray slowly leaned back again and chuckled under his breath.

"You know, System," he muttered, "sometimes you feel like a really illegal lottery."

The System said nothing back.

"Are you not allowed to reply, when I just talk to you casually?"

[...]

Gray frowned when the System continued to ignore him.

"Are you ignoring me?"

[Yes, Host.]

Gray’s lips parted at the direct answer.

"Why?" Suddenly, talking to the System was entertaining. It was something he hadn’t done before.

[No reason, Host. I just don’t feel like replying.]

"...You’re just lazy?" Gray asked, stunned.

[Correct.]

Gray let out a breathy laugh, almost in disbelief.

"Why are you lazy? Aren’t you some high-functioning, virtual AI or something?"

[Why do you have so many questions, Host?]

"Because you’re weird."

[And you too, Host.]

Gray groaned and slouched back in his chair.

"God, you’re worse than Lily."

[You’re welcome.]

He shook his head with a grin, one hand rubbing his temple.

"System, you’re funny. I like you now."

[ Ew. ]

Gray burst into laughter.

Deciding to not bother the system anymore, Gray glanced back down at the folder and flipped past the title page. He started skimming the details again.

Earlier, he wasn’t able to comprehend anything aside from his name.

Now that he wasn’t that super excited compared to earlier, he could now read everything more clearly.

Gray found out that the property was from a well-known real estate agency,

Elysian Properties Ltd.

"...Wait. Elysian?"

Even if he wasn’t into properties, he had heard of them.

Elysian Properties was one of the most well-known real estate agencies in the country. Not for being cheap but for being good.

They had a reputation for developing upscale properties in prime locations: city centers, commercial hubs, scenic riverside blocks, even private towers.

They were the kind of firm that popped up in headlines with words like luxury, elegant, and award-winning design.

And most importantly?

They were known for selling high-end units at surprisingly fair deals.

Gray raised an eyebrow as he continued reading.

’Why would the System give me a unit from this agency...?’

His eyes narrowed with suspicion, but his fingers kept flipping through the pages. Then, on the third page, he found the line he’d been looking for.

Property Location: Unit 1804, Tower C — Rosewood Residences, West Arcadia District.

He read it once.

Then twice.

Gray slowly sat up straighter in his chair, the back of the folder still open in his hand.

"...Why does that sound familiar?"

His eyes scanned the words again. West Arcadia District. Rosewood Residences.

The name poked at something in the back of his memory.

Then something clicked.

And Gray froze.

"Oh... What the fuck?"
