Chapter 1854: 445: Surprise_3
Isla Astir nodded with a smile, happy that her parents were seamlessly adapting to city life.
Looking at Isla’s retreating figure, that feeling of loss surged in his heart once again.
A discreet Bentley was parked outside the complex.
Isla hurried into the car.
Mandel Thompson was sitting in the passenger seat.
Isla then said, "Let’s go to the dog breeder first."
"The dog breeder?" Mandel Thompson was taken aback.
Was it now fashionable to go to dog breeders on dates?
Isla explained, "Today is my dad’s birthday, and he’s always wanted to raise a little Corgi, but my mom disagrees with him getting one, so I thought of buying a little Corgi as a birthday gift for him."
Although Olivia Armstrong disapproved of William Astir keeping a dog, it was different when Isla bought one.
Mandel Thompson nodded, "Okay, adjust the navigation."
"Sure." Isla set up the GPS and placed her phone on the holder.
Feeling a bit bored, Isla turned on some pop music.
Mandel Thompson liked light music.
He never had an appreciation for pop music, labeling them as trite and meaningless.
But today, he found that, actually, pop music sounded quite nice.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the dog breeder’s.
This was a breeder that specialized in Corgis, with all the dogs being descendants of champion breeds, complete with dual pedigree certificates.
As a result, all the dogs were of exceptional quality.
The boss cheerfully introduced to Isla, "This is a long-haired Corgi, and this is a short-haired one. Here’s what the long-haired Corgis look like when they grow up, and here’s the short-haired ones."
Isla thought both the long-haired and short-haired Corgis looked good, finding it difficult to choose between them.
The boss followed up, "Why don’t you take both home? That way the two little cuties won’t be lonely, and since Corgis are small and obedient, they won’t make a mess, so taking care of two isn’t much trouble."
Isla hesitated for a moment.
Two?
The boss added, "It’s the same effort raising one or raising two, and it might as well be two for companionship!"
Isla laughed, "I’ll think about it."
A moment later, she turned to Mandel Thompson, "What do you think?"
Mandel Thompson said, "I have a large dog and a cat at home, and the boss is right, having two dogs will make them much happier. Also, your house is large and comes with a small yard, so it’s pretty good to have two dogs."
The boss nodded fervently, echoing Mandel Thompson’s words, "This gentleman is absolutely right! Lady, if you have a spacious home, you might consider getting two Corgis, one long-haired and one short-haired. Now, with young people busy with work and hardly any time to accompany the elderly, having two dogs at home means your parents will feel more fulfilled when you’re not around."
Isla was still unsure.
Mandel Thompson took out his phone, "Miss Astir, I’ll step out for a bit."
"Okay." Isla nodded.
Inside the breeder’s, Isla was conflicted for a while, then asked again, "How much for the two?"
The boss replied, "Twenty thousand for the two. If you’re sure you want both, I can give you a discount."
Champion breed Corgis are not the same as the ordinary ones.
With better looks, champion breeds naturally commanded a higher price.
When Isla had decided to give a little Corgi to her father as a birthday present, she had also researched the breed’s looks and pedigree.
Naturally, she wanted to choose the best for her father.
"Alright then, I’ll take both," said Isla, picking up two cute puppies.
The little pups were especially adorable, licking her face all over.
Though not related by blood to William Astir, Isla shared his love for dogs.
The boss chuckled, "I’ll let you have both for nineteen thousand and throw in a bag of imported dog food and a box of canned food."
"That’s fine."
The boss then went on to explain some of the important details about caring for the puppies, which Isla carefully noted down.
By the time Mandel Thompson came back in, Isla had already paid.
Mandel Thompson seemed surprised, "Decided so quickly?"
Isla nodded, "Yes, I bought two."
Dogs won’t be lonely, nor will the people.
Mandel Thompson continued, "Should we leave the dogs here and go get something to eat?"
"Sure," Isla responded, turning to the boss, "It’s no problem to leave the dogs here for now, right?"
The boss replied with a smile, "Of course not, I’ll just pack up the things I’m giving you."
Isla followed Mandel Thompson out.
"How about we go for hot and spicy soup?" Isla looked towards Mandel Thompson.
Hot and spicy soup?
Mandel Thompson smiled, "Do all girls like eating that?"
