Looking at the noblewoman’s miserable state, Zhang Xiaoshan finally understood why she had risked so much.

She was driven to desperation.

"Can you give me a bit more of that medicine and let’s poison Wei Bao to death?"

Zhang Xiaoshan was startled.

"Formulating that kind of impotence drug was already a violation of medical ethics. I’m a doctor, not a killer. If I really gave you poison, even if it was you who administered it and killed Wei Bao, I would be just as guilty a murderer as you. I can’t do such a thing," he said.

He hadn’t expected the noblewoman to be so ruthless.

To think that she actually wanted to kill Wei Bao outright.

Suddenly, a thought sprung to his mind— if he really helped the noblewoman escape, would she turn on him and silence him by killing him?

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Feeling Zhang Xiaoshan’s strange gaze, the noblewoman asked.

"Nothing, I was just thinking of a way to help you," he said.

He swiftly changed the subject.

"So, have you thought of a way?"

The noblewoman looked at Zhang Xiaoshan expectantly, her mind wholly focused on leaving White Dragon Village as soon as possible.

Zhang Xiaoshan looked at the turbulent river and said,

"Crossing the water to leave is definitely not feasible. I don’t have any good solutions at the moment. How about this, you wait just a few more days, and I will think of a way for sure."

"Wait a few more days? Doesn’t that mean I still have to face that beast Wei Bao?" the noblewoman protested.

Zhang Xiaoshan pointed towards the wide expanse of the river and said.

"Your legs are on your own body. If you insist on leaving, I can’t stop you. You can try swimming across yourself."

Remembering that Zhang Xiaoshan was her only hope of leaving White Dragon Village, she softened her tone and with a humbled voice, she said.

"Fine, I’ll wait a few more days then. I beg you to think of a way as soon as possible. To leave even a day sooner is worth it; if I continue to stay like this, it’s truly worse than death."

"I will honor my word, whatever you ask for in return for helping me leave, I will give it to you."

Zhang Xiaoshan nodded.

"I’ll do it as quickly as I can."

While speaking, Zhang Xiaoshan’s gaze drifted over the noblewoman’s body.

Because she had struggled in the water earlier, two buttons of her top had come off when Zhang Xiaoshan was pulling her back, and her clothes, soaked through, clung tightly to her body, accentuating her curvaceous figure in a very revealing way.
