Stuck in a Chinese novel
Chapter 476 - 476: Do Not Read

Wei Jun ascended the stairs of the palace with an object in his left hand while holding a sword in his right hand. As he made his way to the palace, the number of undeads increased from low-level to the peak-level undeads until he finally arrived outside the main palace court, the huge doors before him lathered with gold and ornate gems from top to bottom, open and inviting him to step insides while a strong pair of undeads flanked him by left and right.

As he stepped inside, he saw two men standing below the stairs that led to the throne and on the throne, a kid, almost fourteen years old, sitting with a bored expression on his face, while next to him, a woman was on the floor just beside the throne, screaming in pain.

"I thought Lu Shin would be more of a challenge for you." The boy spoke in a heavy voice of a daunting man. Wei Jun was quite surprised by that voice that he took a few seconds to answer as he threw the head all the way to the boy's feet and said, "Yeah, she was a bit of a challenge. She managed to buy you ten minutes."

[You have arrived at the palace within the designated time]

[Timer has vanished]

[Defeat the 'Slaughterer of the East' to complete the quest]

"Is that so?" The boy asked before he said, "Well, I knew they would be unable to stop you."

"Yet you sent them to their deaths." Wei Jun remarked.

"If you're trying to cause unrest between the rest of my subordinates, then don't bother. They knew they were going to their deaths, yet they went happily." The boy replied.

"Strange. I, for once, am sure I spotted regret in their eyes when I took their lives." Wei Jun replied.

"Regret to not serve me any further." The boy replied.

"Nah. I'm sure it was regret of following a brat like you who wasted their lives for petty revenge." Wei Jun replied.

"How dare you?!" One of the subordinates at the bottom flared in anger as his Qi shook the hall.

"Perry, you say?" The boy said after the atmosphere calmed down a bit and asked, "Tell me, what would you do if someone killed your mother?"

"Not gonna happen. Ever." Wei Jun replied, remembering his mother and father, such a thing happening to his mother could never happen. Still, in this scenario, he was more focused on irritating the boy as he replied, "I would have never let it come to such a point. I wasn't as weak as you, you see."

"Bold words. Can you back them up?" The boy asked as he stood up and made his way down the stairs, and slowly made his way to Wei Jun, standing before him in a few seconds, his head raised to look Wei Jun in his eyes.

"Such a brat. At your age, I already had a business empire, yet look at you, having fun torturing your stepmother. You're not gonna go far in life." Wei Jun said in a mocking tone that still seemed to have no effect on the boy.

Until...

Boom!!!

A gush of Qi, unlike anything Wei Jun had ever felt before, even from the man from the evil organization he was fighting before coming to that strange place, something far more sinister but pure, more twisted but determined, struck him, threatening to send him away.

It was unique, the flow and the nature of Qi. Not only was it unique, but it was also full of a resolve that could not be broken by anything.

A purpose.

"So you're not after some petty revenge in the end, are you?" Wei Jun asked.

Sure, the boy was unique and powerful.

But...

Clash!!!

He was unique as well. He had death, the end of everything. Nothing was superior when it came to death.

They looked into each other's eyes as their Qi clashed against each other.

They sought dominance in their clash, but neither side was willing to back down. Even when others around them were barely holding on, the undead were exploding by the second, that clash never stopped.

It went on for a while before it ended, and the calm and stillness returned to the hall, followed by the gasps of the two subordinates behind the boy and cracks in the structure of the palace before it slowly began to crumble.

Yet, neither of the two moved from their spot or broke eye contact as they didn't even blink. The first to make a move would be the winner; they both knew that, but the first to make a move would also be vulnerable.

'Why... though?' Wei Jun couldn't help but wonder as he looked in the direction of the throne. Their clashing power was enough to level the palace yet...

Boom!!!

The boy moved first. A strike to Wei Jun's abdomen that Wei Jun didn't bother blocking, but maximized his defense while preparing a fist of his own to strike the boy.

Alas, only one of them was sent flying, and one managed to keep his ground.

"Kugh!" Wei Jun grunted as the pain coming from his abdomen was quite serious. Still, while in mid-air, he immediately collected himself and crossed his arms before him as the boy appeared on top of him with a terrifying

look in his eyes.

Even Wei Jun felt chills looking into those eyes, but that only served to reassure him.

His opponent was, in the end, just a child.

Bang!

The attack connected, but Wei Jun managed to defend himself, albeit crashing into the ground with such intensity that a tremor shook the entire capital city. The assault of the boy, though, never stopped.

He came crashing down on Wei Jun before even the dust settled and kneed him in the stomach, making him groan, but he still managed to defend himself.

After that, the boy released a flurry of attacks on Wei Jun while Wei Jun only defended himself until he was sure the boy was just focused on him.

[Destroyer]

Boom!!!

A circular dome of death energy covered about a mile in radius, and everything in it was annihilated by the strong force emitted by Wei Jun.

"Kugh!"

For the first time, the boy was forced to retreat as he felt his life force depleting, but it wasn't to the point that it was dangerous for him.

Wei Jun took that opportunity and rained down spears on the boy made of death Qi, and then continued his assault, followed by different structures of Qi consisting of lances, swords, arrows, or anything he could make at an instant.

The sky was covered in a black, dust-like image that obstructed the view of the blue sky above it. The boy looked at the rain of death Qi coming down at him, and all he did was look at it without any apparent expression on his face.

He gathered the Qi in his abdomen, and the sinister aura around him began to shake the surroundings. Wei Jun had an ominous feeling and immediately jumped back, getting out of the radius of the rain, but he didn't stop even when he was well out of the radius because...

Zham!!!!

If Wei Jun's earlier attack was lethal, this one was outright devastating. There was nothing left of the section of the city they were in. Destruction far above the scale of the skill [Destroyer] as a dome covered the entire area, annihilating everything inside, including Wei Jun's death rain.

As soon as it came in contact with the dome, there was nothing left of it.

"This world is so unfair, I tell you." Wei Jun said as he covered himself in all the defensive measures he could. Qi armament, Death veil, Qi fortification, and everything.

Yet...

"Argh!"

As soon as the force of the attack struck him, all defenses crumbled under the ridiculous and sinister power that sought to corrupt everything.

"What the hell is wrong with this thing?" Wei Jun couldn't help but ask as he groaned in pain and tried to stand up, only to lose strength in his legs and fall down.

Pain began to rise from within his stomach, following up and down from its point of origin.

'My Qi core.' Wei Jun thought, but there was nothing he could do. He didn't know what should have been done in that situation; the overseer wasn't there to inform him of that.

Step...

Step...

Slow, deliberate steps could be heard coming in his direction. All he could do, though, was groan and grunt in pain as the pain in his abdomen due to something happening to his Qi core affected his body.

"Don't resist. Give in to the corruption. You will see..." Wei Jun heard the heavy voice of the boy as he came face to face, as he knelt before him, "Everything becomes wonderful."

"Kuaaagghh!!!"
