Chapter 66: HAWK TUAH!

Han Yu’s unblinking eyes locked with Murong Xie’s, watching his every move, every twitch of muscle, and every breath like a hawk stalking a squirrel with gambling debt.

And as soon as he saw Murong Xie move his first finger, Han Yu dived to the right.

WHOOSH

Murong Xie’s fist met empty air, Han Yu already rolling on the ground like a log with ambition.

"Rolling on the ground like a worm—just like the one you are," Murong Xie frowned, clearly unimpressed.

"Better a worm on the ground than in the beak of a bird," Han Yu shot back as he flipped upright, brushing imaginary dirt off his shirt with mock dignity.

"Your tricks won’t work against me. I’ve seen others use them before," Murong Xie growled, lunging forward with the grace of a ballet dancer and the intentions of a sledgehammer.

SHUA

He spun mid-lunge and launched a kick that cut through the air like a guillotine.

Han Yu tried to jump back, but was just a moment too slow.

THUD

"UGH!" Han Yu felt the impact against his ribs, and he nearly coughed up the mystery object hidden in his mouth.’He’s strong,’ Han Yu winced, finally understanding the hype.

"Still standing?" Murong Xie looked slightly surprised.

While he hadn’t used all his power in the kick, it was still enough to give most kids a one-way ticket to nap time.

"A mere tickle," Han Yu replied with shaky bravado, masking the internal screaming of his torso.

"We’ll see how long you can last," Murong Xie said, dropping his stance before launching an uppercut with the weight of ten dumplings and a grudge.

"HAA!" Han Yu leaned back, balancing like a drunk flamingo.

He would’ve toppled, had it not been for the ghostly man’s brutal stances training. The man had whacked him so many times he now balanced better than a table at a Michelin-star restaurant.

"Take this!" Han Yu countered with a slap—not a punch, but a full-on, disrespectful, grandma-style slap to Murong Xie’s forearm.

SMACK

It landed with a satisfying sound, but Murong Xie barely flinched.

In retaliation, Murong Xie jabbed with his left, using Han Yu’s own momentum to fuel his blow.

THUD

Han Yu took the hit square in the chest, groaning as he staggered back.

One step. Two steps.Three—nope, he steadied himself just in time.

That was when he saw a shadow looming above him.

"Oh no—"

Murong Xie had leapt into the air, descending like a meteor of violence.

Having nowhere to dodge, Han Yu did the only thing he could do—block it.

’Come on, if I can take the ghostly man’s hits, this kid’s got nothing,’ Han Yu braced himself, raising both arms like twin shields.

SHUA

Vital energy surged into his arms, boosting his strength just in time.

THWACK

Murong Xie’s heel slammed down into his forearms like a falling tree.

"ARGH!" Han Yu cried out, pain screaming up his arms like a marching band of agony.

But he didn’t fall.He didn’t break. And more importantly—he didn’t spit out the secret weapon in his mouth.

Murong Xie raised an eyebrow.’He didn’t even break a bone?’ he thought, momentarily caught off guard.

Han Yu’s lips curled into a strained grin.

"Time to pay you back!"

He channeled energy into his legs and pushed upward with all his might.

SWOOSH

Murong Xie’s leg was thrown upward, his balance compromised.

But the boy wasn’t so easily toppled—he twisted midair, pushing off his grounded foot, spinning in a diagonal arc like a breakdancer having a spiritual moment.

"WHOA!" The crowd of children gasped.

Murong Xie landed on his hands and flipped backward, effortlessly regaining his footing like it was part of the choreography.

"Haah... haah... haah..." Han Yu breathed heavily, already feeling the drain.

That last move had eaten up nearly a quarter of his vital energy. And he still hadn’t landed a real blow.

’This isn’t working. I need to get close... real close.’

Long-range dodging wouldn’t last forever, and mid-range was Murong Xie’s playground. The only shot Han Yu had was at point-blank range. Risky? Yes. Stupid? Absolutely. But necessary? Also yes.

’Bolt God Fist... at full power. I only need one clean hit.’

But it would take precious seconds to activate. Too long to charge if Murong Xie was breathing down his neck.

That’s when inspiration—or perhaps insanity—hit him.

He deliberately charged toward Murong Xie, teeth clenched, as if he had decided to go out in a blaze of poor decisions.

"Running towards your doom," Murong Xie said, smirking as he pulled back his fist.

"Forbidden Street Skill Number Eight: Pocket Sand!" Han Yu yelled.

Murong Xie tensed, momentarily wary.

But no sand came.

Instead, Han Yu appeared right in front of him, close enough to smell whatever mysterious oil Murong Xie used in his hair.

"You!" Murong Xie grabbed Han Yu’s arm in a clamp. "I got you now."

"No... I got you," Han Yu whispered ominously.

Then he bit down on the object hidden under his tongue.

His eyes flared red. Not metaphorically—literally.

"Take my HAWK TUAH!"

And he spat. Full force. Directly into Murong Xie’s face.

SPLAT

Murong Xie’s world turned to fire.

"MY EYES!" he screamed. "IT BURNS!"

"Haha!" Han Yu laughed, pointing dramatically. "Feel the power of the Scorch Gut Pepper!"

Han Yu had prepared this especially for times like this. He had never actually expected to use it as it would cause damage to himself as well. but it was a risk he needed to take. while he certainly liked spicy food, the Scorch Gut pepper was something even he couldn’t endure for long.

And he knew the aftereffects of the pepper would soon force him to find the latrines.

The audience collectively gasped. Xu Qing facepalmed so hard it echoed.

Murong Xie dropped to his knees, rubbing his eyes in a panic.

Han Yu stepped back, gathering energy in his fist.

"One shot. One opportunity."

He charged it up, the air crackling around his arm.

"This is for my ribs, my pride, and my internal organs!"

He lunged—
