Chapter 137: Finding Home

Chapter 137: Finding Home

Jason spoke up.

"When you were telling me about what happened, you said you only came through the Dimensional Tear by accident, right? Does that mean you were going somewhere else?"

Riyala nodded in confirmation. She had been planning to go to another region in Radagan before opening a Dimensional Tear, but if she hadn’t opened that Dimensional Tear as soon as she did, then the Dragonriders would have gotten to her and taken her back.

"My father and mother... they died so that I could make it out of that world. I sacrificed my wyvern and my best friend just so I could survive. No matter what happened, I couldn’t stain their memories by allowing myself to be captured and taken back. I had to survive no matter what. So I’d like to thank you once again for what you did. If not for your kindness, then my life would have been truly forfeit."

Jason sighed understandingly. He still couldn’t fully empathize with Riyala because he had never gone through something that serious before, but at the very least, he could see that she meant every word that she just said. There was a deep pool of emotion in her heart and he felt it reaching out to him with every word she spoke.

"She looks sad. Is she okay?"

Gina spoke up from beside Jason when she saw the look in Riyala’s eyes and Jason shook his head and told Gina what Riyala had said. Gina looked far more affected by it than Jason did, and she reached out and took Riyala by the hand.

"You don’t need to worry. We’ll help you get to wherever you need to go. I wish you could understand me."

Gina sighed when Riyala only gave her a look of confusion and Jason couldn’t help but laugh when Gina turned to look at him with a small pout while asking him to translate her words. He translated it easily enough and Riyala finally gained understanding in her eyes as she nodded towards Gina in gratitude!

Jason turned to the side and looked out the window to see that the sun was already starting to set in the sky and he hummed while thinking about the possibilities for the future. At this rate, he knew that it would be difficult for Riyala to get to where she needed to be. Riyala said she needed to go somewhere inside Radagan before she could make it to her destination, but since she was now on Earth, she wouldn’t be able to get to her destination unless she went back to Radagan.

And the moment she goes back to Radagan, Jason knows that the people after her will come for her again.

’How the hell are we going to handle this?’

As Jason thought about their next course of action, Gina was trying to have a conversation with Riyala without words. She was using hand signs and gestures to try and ask Riyala if she was hungry, but Riyala was just looking at her like she had completely lost her marbles! Riyala’s head was tilted to one side and her blood-red eyes looked at Gina with the same gaze a parent would give their child if they were talking gibberish.

Gina felt slightly discouraged when she wasn’t able to converse with Riyala, but at the next moment, a loud ’growl’ echoed through the room as Riyala’s stomach rumbled and Gina’s face lit up in a bright laugh as she saw Riyala turn red from embarrassment! Riyala turned down to stare at the ground and Gina’s infectious laugh rang through the room as she took the other woman by the shoulder and rubbed her belly.

"Hungry... Hungry."

Riyala tilted her head to one side before she frowned and slowly tested the word on her tongue.

"On...garii...?"

Gina nodded quickly!

"Hungry! It means you want to eat!"

"Ongarri."

Riyala said the word again and Gina turned to Jason with her brightest smile!

"Jason, did you hear that? She’s learning!"

Jason chuckled at the excited look in Gina’s eyes. Gina looked like a proud parent who just heard their child speak their first few words! Jason thought that it would be harder for Gina to get used to being around someone who was technically an alien, but he was glad that they were getting along so well.

Jason stood up and spoke while petting Gina’s head.

"I’ll go make something for us. Keep her company till I get back."

Jason didn’t trust Gina to make anything that wouldn’t send Riyala back into a coma, so he decided to handle the meal himself. Gina had already begun trying to teach Riyala the next word and she just smiled at Jason as he left. Jason looked at Riyala and he spoke to her as well.

"I’ll just get some food. My girlfriend can be intense sometimes, but she means well. I hope you’ll get along."

Riyala nodded respectfully to Jason and she had to quickly turn back to Gina when Gina said another foreign word for her to replicate. Jason walked out of the room with his hands in his pockets and he began to think about what he would do next. There were only two options that he had now: the first was for him to take Riyala back to Radagan and find a way for her to go to the actual world that she had been targeting all along, and the second option was for him to find a way to send her to that world through Earth.

Jason spoke to the system while entering the kitchen.

"Is there any way to trace what world Riyala wanted to go to?"

The system opened a tab in response.

[If the princess recalls the name of the world she had been targeting as well as the location on Radagan that she was going to use to travel to this world, then it would theoretically be possible to find a similar location on Earth that would also lead to this world, so long as the world is no more than one-dimensional leap away from either Earth or Radagan.]

Jason hummed as he grabbed some eggs to make an omelet. He prepared it in less than five minutes with a ton of pepper before he got some juice to add to the mix. The system’s method would solve all his problems. If Riyala knew exactly where she wanted to go, then the system could help him take her there. The only thing that he had to hope for now was that Riyala would know where she had been going.

Jason took the meal back to the room and he saw Riyala and Gina both laughing as they pet the large wolves on their heads. Jason came around and kissed the top of Gina’s head before he handed the meal over to Riyala. Gina pulled Jason down for a proper kiss and Riyala blushed slightly when she saw the affectionate gesture between them. She calmly turned away to give them some privacy and Jason separated from Gina a few seconds later before turning to speak to Riyala with a smile.

"Hope you like the food. It’s not much, but it should help you get back on your feet."

Riyala collected the plate with a shy nod of thanks and she looked down at the strange-looking meal with furrowed brows. Riyala was a Dragonborn, so she was used to a diet that consisted mostly of meat. A lot of meat. In fact, between the dragons, the wyverns, and the Dragonborn, the people of Radagan ate more meat than nearly any other race close to them.
