Chapter 483: Foundation Establishment Peak Stage

"Do you know the reason I chose Cottus among the three giants?" Xavier asked. "It is because on those walls, we would have to deal with the monsters that live on the wall."

"Among the giants, only Cottus kills those monsters. I see."

"That’s right. And from here on out, we will be facing those monsters. I shall leave it to you."

Xavier’s role was to guide him, not fight for him. To strengthen, not make things easy. Dasha understood. He expected this.

Dasha stepped at the edge of the wall and peered down. Monsters were indeed clinging to the Great Wall. Most were asleep. They did not attack unless they were provoked like most animals.

"This atmospheric pressure...the lack of air...the anti-magic..."

This was perfect.

Dasha dropped down, crossed his legs, and delved into meditation. Xavier took no offence to it.

’Atmospheric pressure with little mana is exactly what I need to perfect Tu Na Breathing. I have done what I can in a clean, Qi-filled forest and in the dirt of the Underground. In a basement, in my own pocket dimension.’

Now, he was in a place where Qi was scarce. Now, his body would have to reach far, far away to find what it needed.

Extreme conditions birthed extreme results.

The technique was both art and science. It was not about mere inhalation and exhalation—it was about discrimination. To breathe was to consume the world itself, to filter through the air and decide what was worthy to remain and what was unworthy to be expelled.

Exhale the dirty Qi.

Dasha released his breath, slow and steady, letting his Qi purge the impurities within him. It was not a mere breath—it was a cleansing, an expulsion of weakness, of stagnation, of filth accumulated through battle and survival. He imagined his body as a furnace, burning away the excess, pushing out the useless waste of his internal energy.

It came out black. Not physically, no, but in his mind’s eye, the air he exhaled was tainted, filled with the corruption of the Underground, the toxicity of the world below, the scars of past sins and past battles. The giants, the monsters, the people...

They were far. They were mucky.

It burned as it left him.

Inhale the pure Qi.

The world was tainted, yes, but not entirely lost. There was clean Qi in the air, if one knew how to take it. It was thin, hard to grasp, nearly invisible, but it was there. Most men would breathe it in without thought, allowing it to mix with the filth, rendering it useless.

Dasha was not most men.

He sifted through it, allowing only the purest strands to enter him. His body learned, adapting to his will, seeking only what was beneficial. He inhaled slowly, drinking in the lifeblood of the world. Unlike before, the energy that entered him was clear, untarnished, like water drawn from a sacred spring.

But it was too little and his body was hungry.

Dasha’s body shuddered. His insides begged him to go elsewhere. This was just not enough. The anti-magic wall was limiting in so many ways.

"Impressive," Xavier said. "You are managing to manipulate your Qi without setting off the Great Wall."

Extreme conditions birthed extreme results.

Qi flowed through his meridians, weaving through his muscles, fortifying his very being. It settled in his core, wrapping around his Dantian like a protective cocoon.

His body wanted more.

Increase the quality. Increase. Do better. Take more. Seize it!

Tu Na Breathing was difficult for this reason. The body, untrained, did not understand this level of refinement. It fought against the process, clinging to the old ways, the easy ways, wanting to breathe as it always had.

But Dasha had been training for this moment. The steps were already installed. All he had to do was download them.

Again.

Exhale. The filth left him. The poison. The weakness.

Inhale. The purity entered. The strength. The refinement.

Hours passed.

Dasha did not move.

The wind howled. The world turned. The city below continued its endless cycle of suffering and indulgence. But up here, upon the Great Wall, Dasha was untethered.

His body was adjusting.

Slowly.

Painfully.

But it was learning.

Here, upon the spine of the wall, the air was thin, crisp, and untainted by the filth of men. Here, in six hours, he succeeded in training his body to learn Tu Na Breathing.

"Haah..."

Xavier had stood by, arms crossed. "Are you done?"

"Equip."

Dasha Pang donned Járngreipr and simply leaped from the Great Wall.

He could feel Natural Qi so much stronger. From a place with little Qi to a place with malevolence, it was night and day. It carried the scent of blood and corruption, the presence of the beasts that lurked along the stone. These monsters, grotesque and feral, clung to the wall’s surface like parasites.

Now, they awoke.

A thousand eyes gleamed in the dark. Claws scraped against stone. Maws unhinged, revealing teeth meant to rend flesh from bone. The creatures were of varying mythological horrors—some were serpentine, slithering through the cracks of the Wall like liquid shadow, while others had too many limbs, too many faces, stitched together from nightmares.

They sensed him. A trespasser. A challenger. A feast.

They lunged.

Dasha vanished. His feet became enveloped in black. ’Electro-Step.’

Everything had changed. His aura, his power, it had all blackened. Dasha’s form blurred, his speed breaking the sound barrier. One moment, the first beast’s jaws were upon him, its saliva burning against the air, and the next—

BOOM.

Dasha reappeared behind it, crouched along the vertical surface of the Wall, his foot pressed against the beast’s freshly severed head. Blood sprayed outward, caught in the wind as its limp body tumbled down into the abyss.

Before the other monsters could react, he moved again.

At long last, he had done it. He was at the peak of the Foundation Establishment.

Black lightning crackled at his feet for a second—another Electro-Step—stacking it on top of the previous iteration of the skill. The wall shook from the sheer force of his acceleration and he was already upon the next wave of creatures.

Storm Surge Kick.

A spinning kick wreathed in lightning ripped through the horde, a shockwave pulverizing flesh and bone as five creatures were blown apart in an instant. Their carcasses were torn from the Wall and flung below.

The others screeched, some trying to flee, others blindly charging.

It did not matter.

Dasha added to his speed with his Qinggong. Elevated in every facet of battle, his agility becoming something even the monsters could not track.

He was evolving.

And they were dying.
