Strongest Among the Heavens -
Chapter 250: Roar of Victory
Chapter 250: Roar of Victory
’Counterflow Stance!’
Dasha’s eyes dimmed. Time slowed.
This was it.
This was what he had been seeking.
The ability to see and feel everything. Alone, Counterflow Stance wouldn’t have allowed him to leap to the side of the blast of energy. But combined with his profound Qi Sense, it was possible.
Disregarding the Shadows, his dark-element skills, and his invisibility, he focused everything on seeing. Super Speed Lv. 1 increased his agility by ten points and by calling out for Electro-step...
Zip!
He further increased his agility and deftness by thirty points. On top of all that, he manually added the remaining ninety points to his deftness.
Finally, he could see. Just barely, he could see. If he could see, he could act.
After his great side-leap, he landed on the lake and kept running. The beam of white and black didn’t chase him, didn’t re-angle itself. It ceased.
’The six-element is too powerful for the Scylla to navigate....!’
Two seconds later—
’Counterflow Stance.’
There was a big light and an instant later a second blast intruded on his Qi Sense. He was able to slip past it for the second time, shoulder brushing against the thick beam of energy.
Hisss!
He ignored it and the pain involved. Two back-to-back blasts. This was it!
Encroaching on Scylla, he found himself facing her tentacles again. The very first time he managed to catch the maiden-monster off-guard. This time, there was no such luck. It focused on killing him without mercy. ’Counterflow Stance!’ The skill didn’t increase his agility in a traditional sense. It was a massive spike in deftness that bordered on multiplying the deftness stat by itself. Timing was key. It did not last long.
’Counterflow Stance!’
Dasha had already perfected the skill’s timing.
He dodged another, then another. The tentacles were nothing to him now. The hydra heads were next. Ten feet away from the waist, from the dogs, Dasha stopped and high-jumped back, narrowly avoiding the three hydra heads. Qi Sense was constantly activated. No invisibility, no escaping through shadows, he focused purely on his instincts.
’Counterflow Stance.’
Above, the shadows of the fourth, fifth, and sixth hydra heads were coming down. He sensed it and didn’t need to look up.
’Stone Stance.’
Stone Stance: by entering a specific stance, a player could increase their deftness and defence by fifty points each. This was his first time using it. Intuitively, he figured the boost would last for four or five seconds. He was incorrect, it was three and a half seconds.
Luckily, Dasha was prepared for that.
He jumped, chanted, "Counterflow Stance," further increasing his reaction time and placing a foot on the hydra’s stout. He began running on the long neck and leaped forward.
’Storm Surge Kick—!’
His heel slammed down on Scylla’s skull hard. Her neck whipped down while Dasha propelled himself high in the air, the axe-kick and her tough skin like slamming off of concrete. His gauntlets were instinctively thrilled at the incantation and the ensuing sparks that flooded his body.
Lightning belonged to Thor. Járngreipr eagerly ate lightning up and amplified it.
Dasha dived down and went head-first through the open mouth of the hydra. The tunnel that was its neck was full of acid. The deeper he got, the more dangerous it would be. Indeed, anyone worth their salt in the Heavenly Tower was aware that the insides of monsters were equally as tough as the outside. His gauntlets were excited as a certain spark flooded through his body again.
The atmosphere of thick mana. The acid. Even with all that, he managed to pierce through the monster’s throat with a strike.
’Thunder Clap!’
His hands bashed together and pierced through the flesh from the inside-out. The lightning was stronger than ever before and created a huge man-sized hole. He latched onto the ensuing hole and leapt out. Scylla shrieked loudly and a second hydra head arrived to kill. Before it could swallow him or do anything, he stretched out an arm and touched its snout. "Thunder Clap Palm."
The full force of Thunder Clap’s lightning was funneled into a single palm. The hydra snapped back. Dasha found footing on the hydra’s neck under him and chanted, "Electro-step."
Instantly, his legs were enveloped in yellow lightning and he burst forward. His hands swung behind him from the overstimulating speed. He reached his target and Dasha unleashed another powerful, "Thunder Clap!"
The overwhelming speed worked in his favour.
CLAP!
Crackling electricity erupted from his hands and enveloped the maiden’s massive snout in a dazzling display of light. Yellow, blue and black electricity coursed through Scylla’s body, causing her to let out a deafening shriek of fury. He was so close. It was officially halfway down. Qi Sense was fully activated, scanning everything above and below him. He needed to find a platform and blast forward. He fell and twisted himself over to a neutral sky-dive position, arms stretched out and belly and hips forward. Two of the hydras were strangely waiting for him.
’Wait...!’
A screech. Within the mouths of the hydras were black and white—darkness and light.
’Counterflow Stance!’
Dasha twisted his body mid-air and narrowly evaded the converging beams of darkness and light that shot forth from the waiting hydra heads. The deadly energy streaked past him, searing the air with its intensity and he landed on the blood-lake safely. Qi Sense was in emergency mode and he sensed a build-up of energy closeby. The dogs on her waist—
No. He wouldn’t be able to cast Counterflow Stance at this distance...!
He managed to jump before the dog heads collected the raw power of water, earth, wind, and lightning. The raw energy converged into a swirling vortex, merging together to form a hyper beam of unimaginable force.
There was just no way to oppose it. Without the Sorcerer Class, Ultra Magic Barrier was not open to him. Jumping to avoid it was his only option.
An option that did not change the outcome.
Dasha was engulfed by the swirling hyper beam.
The beam was slower and travelled far, far back. Waves of water crashed against him, followed by jagged shards of earth and gusts of swirling wind. Lightning crackled and seeped inside him, searing his skin.
BOOM!
Without light and darkness, the beam ended up exploding. A heavy silence descended over the lake. Scylla roared in victory.
