Chapter 184: Token
Chapter 184: Token
There were special tokens that were held by the four family patriarchs to open the barrier for a short period of time if it was necessary. After all, these four people were the few magic warriors who held the highest fighting power in Wansu City.
So if there were any emergency, they could get out of the city quickly.
There should only be four copies.
But the Black Family and the White Family were a bit special. There were more than one most powerful magic warriors in the past, so Black Family Patriarch’s brother and the White Family Patriarch’s brother both have another copy.
The White Family Patriarch’s brother naturally kept his token in his hand.
But for the Black Family...
"Silas’s mother," the Black Family Patriarch murmured.
After the death of his brother, he forgot to search for that token and the last time, that token was still in Silas’s mother’s hand.
If she were to use that token, they could break through the barrier quickly from inside.
"Silas!" The Black Family Patriarch turned around and looked at Silas, who had come along with the other Black Family members.
"Yes, Patriarch?"
"Where’s your mother?"
"Huh?" Silas was stunned. He wanted to say that his mother should be in the restaurant when he recalled that his mother went out to see Rafi again and his face darkened slightly. But at the same time, he felt a sense of unease deep in his heart. "She should be in the city with Rafi, Patriarch."
"Rafi?" the Black Family Patriarch frowned when he heard this name.
To be honest, not many people were paying attention to Silas’s mother.
Even when the Black Family Patriarch heard that she has some interest in another man, he didn’t want to pay much attention. This was mostly because Silas’s mother was not a magic warrior or mage. Even if she were to get close with others, it would not affect the Black Family too much.
It was only because Silas brought up this matter that they had to pay attention recently. But even then, what they cared the most was only the business that Rafi brought forward.
Other matters?
They didn’t care.
Until now.
"Does your father’s token still with your mother?" The Black Family Patriarch asked.
Silas was stunned.
It was only then he remembered about that special token to bypass the magic barrier that he understood what the Black Family Patriarch was worrying about.
He took a magic scroll and unfurled it, revealing a map.
It was the tracker that Aya gave to him.
Even after more than two months, the formation hadn’t dissolved and Silas usually used it to find out the whereabouts of Rafi. He would not allow that man to bring his mother to a dangerous or inappropriate place.
At this moment, Silas’ heart fell into an ice cave.
Because he realized that the formation was pointing outside Wansu City and the man was moving at a rapid speed. It was clear that Rafi should be the thief who stole the information and he used his mother to get her token.
"Yes, Patriarch," Silas said through gritted teeth.
"What is that?"
"This is a tracker map," Silas replied. "It’s connected to an item that Rafi brought and he’s outside the city right now."
Even though this map might pose some trouble for him later when they asked about the source, Silas was still honest. Because he knew that his mother should have been tricked by that b*stard Rafi.
Right now, Silas just wanted to check his mother and then beat up Rafi.
The Black Family Patriarch looked at Silas and then at the others. "Everyone, all at once, go out and chase after them."
"Yes!"
Since the culprit had escaped from Wansu City, they had to hurry and rush out.
Silas wanted to go back and find his mother, but the Black Family Patriarch stopped him. "I’ll send someone to find your mother. You go and bring that man back."
Silas wanted to say that the other magic warriors were enough but seeing his uncle’s expression, he swallowed the words back.
"Yes, Patriarch."
With that, Silas ran out of Wansu City along with others.
The Black Family Patriarch took a deep breath and then looked in the direction where the Fourth Head of the Wansu City was located. "Let me talk with the Fourth Head."
"Yes."
...
Aya heard the commotion outside and knew that something had happened.
She purposely went to the hall and found Evan was also there.
It was clear that he was curious.
"Father, what happened?" Evan saw his father coming in and quickly asked.
"There’s a thief who stole something from the Fourth Head," The White Family Patriarch’s brother replied, his face was ugly. "It seems that they managed to catch a loophole."
Catch a loophole?
Aya frowned and looked in the direction of the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s building.
The entire place was heavily protected and normally no one would be able to get close to that building without permission.
After all, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City treasured his life.
Whenever there were ghosts that appeared, these magic warriors would defend the building with all their lives.
Now, someone stole something from inside.
"How did that happen?"
Evan was full of disbelief.
"I don’t know, but it should be their skills related to space or something like that," the White Family Patriarch’s brother replied.
Evan frowned.
Aya was also thinking and then asked, "Do they know who did it?"
"Yes, a man goes by the name Rafi. It’s said that he’s using the Black Family to escape as of now," the White Family Patriarch’s brother replied.
Rafi?
Aya’s heart skipped a beat.
She knew that this was the name of the man who has been close with Silas’s mother in the past few months. It was said that he was just a merchant, but he has been staying in Wansu City for a long time.
"Uncle, I’m going to stay in my room."
"Huh? Aya?" Evan was confused.
