Chapter 122: Suspicion
Chapter 122: Suspicion
"Black shadow."
A black shadow appeared in front of Leon in the shape of two hands and circled him. It didn’t restrain him but seemed to be hugging him.
Leon looked at Lilac in front of him.
At such a young age, he could see that Lilac’s control over the dark magic was indeed very good. It was so good that it was unbelievable. Only the word ’genius’ could possibly explain how Lilac was able to do something like this.
"I’m fine, Lilac. You go back to rest, I’ll train a bit more," Leon showed a smile on his face.
Lilac looked at her older brother seriously and nodded. Even though she could sense that Leon was not this calm in his heart, there was nothing else that she could do. She couldn’t possibly force her brother to do what she wanted.
So, Lilac turned around and entered the house once again.
Leon looked at Lilac’s back and turned around. He took a deep breath and silently used his magic once more. He didn’t want to be lagging behind his teammates. Each and every single one of them was very capable and Leon didn’t want to drag them down.
So he had to train harder!
...
Dean and Yun walked back together.
The Red and the Green Family were located near each other, so the two of them usually went back home together.
"Dean, can you guess how much strength Aya used when she throw that stone back?" Yun suddenly asked.
Because Yun is a support mage, she was used to being attentive to everyone’s movement. Her observation told her that Aya should have used more strength than normal. Facing against a normal person, it was obviously not an ordinary move.
"Ah... I don’t know," Dean replied. "But I guess that it would be a bit higher than what normal people should be able to receive."
He knew that Aya should play some tricks when throwing because he saw the mischievous smile on Aya’s face. After knowing each other for several years, they still knew each other’s habits very well.
Aya often taught them very well what it meant to have high physical strength.
Well, in other words: they have been abused greatly by Aya several times during practice and so on.
Yun nodded. "I should have guessed as much."
"What is it?" Dean asked back in confusion.
"I think that man is a bit strange, so I plan to tell my Uncle about this," Yun replied.
Uncle?
Dean thought about the Green Family Patriarch and his lips twitched. "Is it necessary for you to tell him?"
He felt that it was a bit overkill for Yun to tell this matter to the Green Family Patriarch because of their suspicion. Moreover, this matter was related to the Black Family and other families might not be able to intercede.
"I’m just trying." Yun shrugged.
She was watching Aya’s expression when that man was contacting her. Even though Aya put on the same casual and somewhat indifferent expression, she could feel the coldness from Aya.
And this coldness... is not something that Aya would show to others easily.
Even when they were sparring, Aya would always keep her hand and her anger was more playful rather than real. It was clear that they were only playing around and having fun even though the cost was that they were being beaten up badly.
For this matter, Leon and Dean wanted to sigh deeply.
They were the one who suffered the most!
"Well, it’s up to you." Dean thought about his father but finally decided not to tell him. The Red Family was already declining and there was no need for them to meddle in other people’s business.
"Let’s go back."
"Yes."
The night was quiet.
Even though some people made some moves, but in the end, nothing actually happened for the next few hours.
Aya returned to the White Family Residence with Evan and then silently slipped away.
She had left a tracking formation mark on the magic identification stone that she threw back to the man. Of course, she would not really use any spells because the stone would lit up, so she only used her mana control on it. This would result in the formation being unstable and wouldn’t last long, but it should be enough for a few weeks.
After all, the mana dissipation rate would be slow even if it was unstale since Aya’s skills were really good.
Right now, Aya could still sense the location of the man.
He’s in the forest not far from the Black Family’s areas.
It was also quite near the store where Silas’s mother usually located. And from the fact that the track kept on moving, he shouldn’t be in one place.
’This speed...’
The movement speed was far from what ordinary people could do.
Aya was sure that this man should be a magic warrior. The question was whether he was from Wansu City or from other cities. If he was someone from the Fourth Head... then Aya would just stay away from this matter and only looked from the distance.
Because she knew that the Fourth Head had a lot of intelligence officers around.
They would monitor the movements of the people in the city and also perform some missions related to intelligence gathering.
Aside from this group of intelligence officers, there were also some people who worked in the dark. Aya knew about some people who sealed the ghost inside their body under the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s order and each of them were busy performing various secret missions.
Their lives would not last long if they were to use the ghost’s power.
So they were either the powerful trusted ones by the Fourth Head of the Wansu City or the cannon fodder selected by them to keep the ghost under their control for a period of time.
*cough*
Whichever one it was, Aya would take a look by herself.
Bang!
