Chapter 835: Section 555: North (1) _2
The churches in the North all accepted this: first, because any Nameless person could become a guarantor for Ails; second, because Ails’ undead army was too effective against Nagoth; third, because Ails was recently able to roll tobacco nurtured with Holy Water, a product of the Church of Justice, and Ails said it was very potent, whereas under normal circumstances any Lich would have long since died.
Malin even remembered the interesting scenes when the leaders of the Church of Justice, both great and small, mentioned Ails with puzzled faces.
"Yes, this position is good." Malin affirmed the actions of the girls, but he still expressed some confusion about why the Bunny Girl was living in the Mage Tower: "Why do you live here."
"The side of Rongma is too noisy, not conducive to my study of spells, I want to become stronger, strong enough that I also become a Legendary." Clovis said this with a touch of sorrow on her face: "Malin, Faye still hasn’t been able to dream about her offspring, among us sisters only she hasn’t dreamed, even though she is already pregnant... This shouldn’t be, Malin."
"I know, I will find time to accompany her, speaking of which, how many children have you seen?" Malin asked.
Then Clovis told Malin about all the children she knew, and when Malin heard about Nagoth, his curiosity led him to ask about the child’s experiences.
When he heard about her actions in Oslo, Malin became concerned, and when he heard Clovis worry about the child’s future, Malin patted her shoulder: "Don’t worry, I’ll go there to have a look, I will try to clear up the final place she appeared in your dreams, don’t worry, Clovis."
"But it’s too dangerous there, that’s the core of the Dark Zone, it’s very cold, I worry about you, I want to go with you."
"Don’t be silly, I’m a Frost Giant, the North is my homeland, don’t worry, leave it to me."
Malin reassured Clovis, pulled out a pocket watch to check the time, and found it was already noon: "I will eat here, then I must return to the North, Clovis, what do you want to eat today?"
"I want to eat salad." The Bunny Girl replied with a smile.
"Alright, I’ll make it for you." Malin laughed and brought some carrots from his Semi-Plane: "Also, I have a new dish here, you should like it."
"I’ll be looking forward to it." Clovis sat on a small chair nearby full of expectations.
The same scene, the same people, Malin was somewhat dazed, but more than that, he missed the old Bunny from another world.
In that world, Malin never stepped foot again, perhaps that version of him had completely purified it with fire.
The matters of yesterday are gone, what Malin can grasp is only the beauty of the present.
He made several vegetarian dishes, and Malin finally grilled some meat for himself, then he and Clovis sat at the small round table and finished the meal.
The Bunny Girl was very happy, she enjoyed every dish, and when she ate the stewed carrot soup, the sparkle in her eyes was clearly visible, she said she absolutely loved that dish.
Malin was very happy.
This is my Bunny Girl, the priceless Clovis.
After tidying everything up, Malin kissed Clovis goodbye and stepped into the teleportation portal back to the North.
......
Seeing Malin step out of the fixed portal, the soldier on guard duty immediately saluted: "Sir, you’re back."
"Yes, I’ve dealt with the matters at the Church, is everything alright today?" Malin asked as he pulled out a cigarette case.
"All’s fine, Chaos didn’t come here to stir up trouble today," the solider said, then paused to think: "Yes, I’ve spelled it right."
Then he caught the cigarette Malin tossed over: "Thank you, sir."
"No need to be polite, soldier, we are comrades standing on the same front line." After saying that, Malin distributed cigarettes to a few other soldiers, and Fio started to light them up one by one, earning continuous thanks from them — everyone knew that Malin’s World Tree Sapling was a truly legendary item; not only for lighting a cigarette but even hanging a few Nagoth Chaos would be effortless.
After saying goodbye to the soldiers, Malin walked along the trench. Under the afternoon sun, soldiers enjoyed the rare sunlight on the walls of the trench, with barbers and foot care in full swing. The trench was filled with all sorts of odd smells, forcing Malin to jump out of the trench. While greeting the soldiers, he gestured to those who smelled to quickly roll over to the shower area to take care of themselves.
Then he was informed that the area was already overcrowded, and these were the unlucky ones who couldn’t get an appointment for today.
However, the soldiers didn’t seem to mind, after all, their hygiene situation had already reached historically good levels, thanks to Sir Malin.
Malin was a bit puzzled — wondering how this praise had come out of the blue.
Everything was cleared up when he saw Lulu. This girl not only scheduled shower times for each company in the shower area, but also dispatched the Gendarmerie to maintain order, bringing rare organized flow to the previously sardine-packed shower area.
As Malin’s wife, managing a shower area which no general would bother with and successfully establishing order, distributing razors and scissors to each company not in the queue today, along with a small piece of pastry from a city’s snack shop — even though it was very small, the grassroots soldiers had nothing but praise for it.
"I can always help you men out where you fail to manage," Lulu said as she rolled up her sleeves and took off her coat, working for Malin and earning everyone’s fond praises and delight.
Malin smiled and hugged her: "It’s been tough, and you’re dressed too lightly."
"It’s okay, girls from the North don’t mind this bit of chill."
Although Lulu said that, she obediently lowered her sleeves and put on her coat under Malin’s watchful gaze.
"I’m leaving the shower area in your hands, keep an eye on those guys, and if anyone disrespects you, let Fio deal with them." Malin took extra precautions for her, then thought she should take on an additional small task: "Right, for tonight’s dinner, you handle the arrangements."
This task was usually done by Malin, but this time let Lulu handle it — with Fio around, and Lulu, Malin’s wife who stands outside the military hierarchy, no one would dare tamper with dinner.
If someone really dared to, the furious soldiers would tie them up and drag them before Malin — an impossible scenario in the past, as no soldier had the right to vent their anger at the logistics lieutenants.
But now, with Malin truly being the commanding officer here, the soldiers would absolutely believe that what Malin did was to help and protect them.
Because everyone knew that Malin would indeed do so — after all, not a few have already died over this matter in Copenhagen.
You see, dead men tell no lies.
"Leave it to me! I’ll show you the initiative of a girl from the Hagelberry household." Lulu happily accepted the new task given by Malin.
"I’ll go check the command center first, it’s all yours." Malin said, and after kissing the girl goodbye.
Considering how passionate this girl has become, is this the initiative of a Hagelberry girl and the simplicity of a Northern girl?
Malin thought as he arrived at the command center, finding the younger brother of the Svenson family discussing something with a group of staff officers.
He glanced at the sand table and realized it’s not a map of the North, but like... "Are you all analyzing the battle where I crushed the Black Orcs?"
"Ah, yes, sir, we are very curious about the combat effectiveness of the Southern army, the loss was too small, and the achievements too great." Link Svenson replied, then stepped aside: "Sir, could you give us some guidance?"
