Chapter 751: Section 514: Fun Amidst Serious Matters (Part 1)
Malin had long been aware of Northerner ideology, and while the version he knew differed somewhat, he considered that accomplishing so much for a fledgling cause was no small feat, aware that both the Northern royal family and the Nobles were suppressing the ideology overtly and covertly.
He wasn’t surprised by this, as some aspects of Northerner ideology were fundamentally undermining the very foundation of the Nobility and the Royals.
Therefore, it was only natural for it to be suppressed.
Malin even thought to himself that although the King of Manheim and his Nobles looked down upon each other, when faced with such treacherous officials and rebels, how could they not join forces against them?
Then again, he considered the possibility that the Nobles might want to use Northerner ideology as a means to carry out their dirty work; put nicely, it was a game of deceit; put bluntly, it was making use of others to do their killing.
After all, the first to be undermined by Northerner ideology was the royal family, and compared to the King, perhaps the Nobles were much less constrained.
It was also possible that some Nobles were involved in the Northerner cause, even holding significant influence, which Malin realized when he saw the Svenson twins.
This interweaving of Northerner ideology and Nobility was like a forgotten song of bygone days sharing its innermost feelings—the thing about ideologies, as Malin saw it, was that there was never a middle ground to tread; without a sound explanation, he wouldn’t consider aligning with them.
Of course, now wasn’t the time for him to share his own views, so after exchanging warm greetings with the three men, he smoothly asked why the two Svenson siblings were there.
After all, Malin had indeed seen them at a previous royal banquet, and the young men made no attempt to hide it, openly admitting their intent—to kill the King.
"Why would you do such a thing? If I’m not mistaken, the Svenson family is related by blood to the Manheim royal family, and even his youngest son is your nephew, who should call you ’uncle’ upon seeing you," Malin inquired.
"Our sister, she didn’t wish to marry him," the older twin explained.
"But our father and grandfather betrayed her, and that lecherous old man defiled her; we seek revenge," the younger twin added, "Assisting Northerner ideology is also our way of seeking retribution against the royal family and our own damned lineage."
"For this cause, did you personally kill your father and grandfather?" Malin retorted.
"Your Excellency, as the champion of the Lord of Justice, there are some questions you ought not to ask," the older brother said, flashing a cold smile, while the younger one wiped the corner of his eye, squeezing out a tear, "Malin Your Excellency, our father froze to death in the garden three years ago, drunk."
Malin raised an eyebrow, realizing for the first time just how brutal Northerners could be when they resorted to violence.
Yet, it was also good; they were two individuals capable of great deeds. Since this was the case, Malin’s next question went straight to the heart of the matter, "If one day, you achieve your revenge and Northerner ideology grows ever stronger, what will you do next? Are you going to be their foe, or continue to be the Gravediggers of this decaying kingdom?"
"If Northerner ideology could actually redeem all the suffering people in this kingdom as everyone says, then why not continue? Over the years, we’ve seen nothing but suffering among the people. Seeing those sold into servitude heading south, other serfs didn’t fear the unknown destiny but instead... felt lucky to have the chance to work for Your Excellency’s company," the older twin brother said with self-deprecating laughter, "It’s strange, Mr. Malin, isn’t it? The serfs left behind envied their sold-off peers. Until that day, my brother and I never thought the serfs would think like this, and even though we had supported Northerner ideology before, we never saw it as a Savior."
Then, the younger brother looked at Antoine and bowed respectfully, "Mr. Antoine... no, Comrade Antoine, my brother and I truly hadn’t realized how dreadful the state of our country had become with serfs regarding staying here as a misfortune and seeing their trafficked peers as the lucky ones... If Northerner ideology can truly afford a way out for serfs and commoners, we wouldn’t mind becoming like you; after all, we have already betrayed our family."
Antoine turned and glanced at Malin, who nodded in acknowledgement—he could tell that everything the young men said was heartfelt.
"I never imagined that by buying those serfs desperate for survival, I would make such a significant impact," Malin remarked as he reached out to shake hands with the brother.
"Indeed, before that, we brothers thought we were already showing mercy to the serfs, but their genuine exclamations made us realize just how precious freedom truly is, even more than life itself," the older brother shared.
"Without the actions of Your Excellency in buying those serfs, we might not have come to feel this way," the younger brother also shook Malin’s hand, "Thank you, Your Excellency Malin."
"You’re welcome." Malin felt gratified that the young men could think this way and reflected that this must be what they call the butterfly effect.
"Hereby, we sincerely invite you to discuss with us, as we are likely to have a lot in common," the brothers concluded, then turned to Antoine, "Comrade Antoine, what do you think?"
"Of course, I agree with Your Excellency Malin, and I am also very pleased that you brothers could come to such a change. Welcome to truly join the People’s Assembly," Antoine extended his hand to shake with each brother.
"So, is there anything else?" Malin asked out of boredom, "As you know, my wives didn’t come along, and if the meeting is tomorrow night, then I have a day and a half to spare. Is there any amusement around here?"
As he finished, Malin noticed Comrade Antoine seemed deep in thought.
Well, Mr. Antoine, have you thought of any good ideas? I knew the Industrial Party was more reliable.
With that thought, Malin heard Comrade Antoine say, "Your Excellency Malin, I don’t have much understanding about all-night hotels."
"It’s not my damn fault you asked me to find fun, and here you are asking me to chop up some fools too stupid to know they’re dead! You owe those Chaos cultists an apology!"
The Svenson family’s younger brother spoke up at this time.
"No, Comrade Antoine, what Malin His Excellency desires is not a typical nightclub but a battlefield!" Having said that, he looked toward Malin, shared a knowing smile that young people often do, and expressed his happiness, "Your Excellency Malin, am I right in what I say?"
"Link, you truly get me. Is there anywhere you need us?" Malin asked.
"Plenty. Our family is currently engaged in a firefight with a Chaos squad that’s coming from the Dark Zone in the southeastern region. Would you like to have a look?"
"Let’s go; I’ll open the door." Malin immediately opened a teleportation portal after speaking.
Antoine and the two young Svensons were taken aback, seemingly never having seen Malin so bold before.
The next second, a High-Order Mage from the Mage Tower emerged from a teleportation portal on a nearby wall, "Who opened this portal!"
"Me." Malin raised his hand, "The Svenson brothers said they would take me to the battlefield for some excitement."
"Uh... Your Excellency Malin, then it’s fine." The High-Order Mage looked down, saw Malin, and his furious expression immediately turned into one of embarrassment, "I’ll register it for you here. When you return, just use this coordinate—it’s your personal safety recall coordinate."
"Thanks." Malin shook hands with him and then watched him leave.
"I’ve never seen a High-Order Mage from the Mage Tower be so polite before." Lord Antoine looked at the teleportation mage badge on Malin’s chest, "But considering your status, I think it’s to be expected. After all, a champion of the Lord of Justice, if not a person of evil deeds, need not worry about anything, right?"
"Exactly, what’s there to fear? Your Excellency Malin, please follow us." Jon Svenson, the elder of the Svenson family, said as he took the lead into the portal, followed by his younger brother. Malin and Antoine shook hands, "Comrade Antoine, don’t worry, I will definitely be back by tomorrow night."
"Of course, I have nothing to worry about. With a being like yourself, what is there to worry about on an ordinary battlefield." Antoine said with a smile, then laughed, "Comrade Malin, we’ll see each other tomorrow night."
"See you tomorrow night. If I’m lucky, I’ll bring back a few magician heads for you, consider it activity funds." After Malin spoke, he dove into the teleportation portal.
Antoine, who remained in the classroom, was silent for a while but ultimately left with a shake of his head and a smile.

What a beautiful new world! Standing in the clearing among the trees, the grand commander of the Soms brethren battle group, a Chaos Champion Ogre, greedily breathed in the clean air. As a devout follower of brutality, it and its legion were deployed into this world to repay its faith with slaughter. In the upcoming Tide of the Dead, it aimed to become a beacon calling forth more of its Chaos brethren, becoming their leader and then completely submerging this world.
Today, it would start by defeating the humans before it, pleasing the True God with their lives!
The Ogre moved its legs, dragging a huge wooden maul behind it. Its actions were the command to attack, and so its warriors surged from the woodland, ready to completely overwhelm the puny human defensive line before them.
No sooner had it stepped out of the woodland than Bloodhand noticed something unusual upfront; his warriors had already charged into the human defenses but seemed to be hitting some obstacle, getting killed non-stop, with limbs scattering in all directions.
What mighty human could this be?
With a thrill of ecstasy, Bloodhand hastened his pace. He wanted to kill this human and decorate his battle flag with its head.
"Blood sacrifice to the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!"
Amidst its roaring, it saw a small figure pop out of the breach.
The latter was wielding an axe that seemed somewhat massive compared to him and then hurled it toward him.
Ha! A tender skin with a toothpick thinking to kill a giant!
Bloodhand reached out his hand to catch the axe—a feat that seemed effortless.
That was the last thought in Bloodhand’s life.
Because the next second, the axe split his hand and then lodged itself in the center of his forehead.
