Chapter 732: Section 504: Wisdom is the Most Dangerous Weapon in Human Hands (Part Two)_2
The only one who didn’t have a dream, Faye furrowed her brow tightly, "What do you mean?"
"When I was in the dream, my child told me that in the future era, the existence of Mr. Malin had been erased, the specific situation..." Clovis narrated the entire sequence of the event in detail.
After Clovis finished speaking, Nova furrowed her brow with a puzzled look, "I...I actually have never asked my child about this matter, if I can see one of them again, I will definitely ask."
"I will too, Clovis, how did you discover it, why didn’t I think of it!" Rewo, who was also a Mage, fell silent, "Wait a minute, you mean to say, Malin has disappeared from history?"
"Yes, besides that, when I said the name, my child even indicated that he couldn’t hear the sound of the name ’Malin’."
Having said this, Clovis sat down on a sofa, "We...we must do something, my sisters."
"...Of course, we must do something, remember, the next time we dive deep into dreams, we must properly ask our children." After Faye finished speaking, she sat down next to Clovis, "Don’t worry, Clovis, if there really is a problem, we will surely be able to help Malin."
"Yes, we will surely be able to help Malin." Nova reached out and smoothed Clovis’s ears back behind her head, "Don’t worry, let’s confirm the situation first."
......
Meanwhile, in the Northern Kingdom, Copenhagen.
As soon as Malin stepped out of the portal, still in the hall, he felt the chill, but it was bearable, thinking this, the 1.8 meters tall Malin adjusted his collar, then glanced at his foster father, who was all wrapped up, who was also examining his foster son with an expression that spoke volumes.
"You see, I’m a Half-blood, the kind with Frost Giant heritage." Having said that, Malin pointed to a corner of the hall where a group of Demon Hunters was staring at him dumbfoundedly, "Them?"
"Yes, them, hey, old Jack, you’re not dead yet."
"How could I possibly die if a pestilence like you hasn’t died yet." The old man walked over, and the two old fellows eventually embraced tightly.
"Long time no see, my old friend, I’m so happy to see you again."
"Likewise, I was very worried when I heard that you were giving up your quest for the truth, but a few days ago I heard that you had become Legendary. Life is truly indescribable, my old friend. Speaking of which, here’s my foster son and my Apprentice, Niels Bohr."
"Mr. Malin Gaiate, hello, Mr. Jack." Malin stepped forward and extended his hand.
After shaking hands with Malin and laughing, the old man turned to look at old Gaiate, "Why does an old dog like you have such good luck picking up kids!"
The latter laughed heartily and shook hands with Niels, then patted his shoulder, "Well done, only fourteen and already an official Demon Hunter."
"You’re too kind, I’ve heard the stories about Lord Malin, he’s a true hero."
The young man had short dark brown hair and, with the typical large build of a Northerner and standing up straight, he looked very spirited.
"Ha, he’s just got a good head on his shoulders, plus an affinity of eight with the Blessing Spell Formation, he really just grabs those Undead with his gun and Spell Formation." Old Jack said this, glancing at Malin, "Of course, none of the kids can compare to you."
"I’m not a kid anymore, sir," Malin responded with a smile.
"You’re much more sensible than your father and you’ve got manners too." Old Jack said and gestured for Malin and Gaiate to follow him, "Come on, both of you, there’s a carriage outside, let’s head back to the Demon Hunter Guild and talk on the way."
On the way back to the Demon Hunter Guild, Malin received the mission briefing—east of Copenhagen, across the strait on the opposite side, was Malmo, the remote strategic town in the northern provinces of the Northern Kingdom. Further north from there was the uninhabited Extreme North, and to the east, the dangerous Dark Zone.
The mission location was fifteen kilometers northeast of Malmo. A Frost Giant hunting party there had suffered an attack, with thirteen of the fifteen-member team killed, only one Half-blood boy escaping back to Malmo with a half-dead girl.
The target couldn’t be confirmed, it seemed there was only one enemy, Malmo was currently on guard against threats from the eastern Dark Zone, and the Chaos forces were gathering, so the defense forces couldn’t possibly divert resources to pursue that single target, especially since the Extreme North was already very dangerous. Only Frost Giants and humans with sufficient Northerner lineage could venture there without freezing to death.
With thirteen Frost Giants dead, their main force in the Amiens autonomous region to the west of Copenhagen was gathering strength to join the Malmo defensive line and couldn’t possibly come right away.
Therefore, the Demon Hunter Guild decided to take on this mission—and when it came to choosing capable members, old Jack thought of old Gaiate.
As a Legendary figure, old Gaiate certainly wouldn’t fear the extreme cold weather at the edge of the Extreme North, and if Malin could join—a Legendary Half-blood Frost Giant with absolute strength—old Jack felt that with Malin’s help, he could probably roam freely in the Extreme North.
"The Frost Giant team didn’t see what the monster looked like?" Malin asked.
"That’s right, they didn’t detect it, the Half-blood boy was too frightened to be coherent. He said that thing could enter Invisibility even under broad daylight. He simply couldn’t find it. It killed using crossbow bolts, very similar to the type of heavy military crossbows that require great strength to operate."
