Chapter 634: Section 447: Blood of Ter (Part 2)
The third edition’s headline read that His Excellency Divine Master Wayne Gaiate of The Great Forest Land was assassinated by unidentified armed personnel in front of the hotel owned by the Gaiate Group where he was staying, while mediating between the increasingly tense relations of the Southern Pact Group and the Northern Holy Group in the Northern Kingdom. The assailant used militarily controlled demon-slaying bullets, striking His Excellency Wayne with seven bullets, resulting in immediate death on the spot.
The Kingdoms of Sydney and Farole expressed the utmost condemnation for such barbaric acts and extended their most sincere condolences to Mr. Devil Gaiate, the offspring of His Excellency Gaiate. It is understood that the Orc Union of The Great Forest Land has already notified the Northern Kingdom, stating if the murderer is not delivered within a week, the Orc Union of The Great Forest Land will join the Southern Pact Group.
The Eastern Kingdom strongly condemned this assassination, expressing the same view that if the murderer is not handed over, the Eastern Kingdom will also join the Southern Pact Group.
Malin fell silent for a good while, before eventually lifting his chin with his hand.
It truly is the eve of war.
Having spent money on a map—Sydney, Farole, no problem, the Great Wilderness and The Great Forest Land have now also become independent nations, while the northern territories of the Eastern Kingdom have turned into a kingdom called Ronis, and the South has split into three parts. The one close to the Great Wilderness is still called the Eastern Kingdom, but the other two are separately named the Holy Ronis Kingdom and the Free Territory of Ronis.
The Kingdom of Engma has been restored, but now it too is split into two smaller nations, with the South still called the Kingdom of Engma, and the North called the Engma Union.
The Northern Kingdom completed its unification, and its territory had shifted northward.
Wait, the territory moved northward?
Malin turned to the newspaper stand’s owner, "Have you heard of Nameless?"
"What’s that?" the owner responded with a puzzled expression.
Nameless no longer exists?
Malin looked eastward, and then he saw it drawn on the map—the Middle East region, Africa seemed to be entirely gone, but from the Middle East stretching east, there were various coastal cities scattered about. And in the East Asia region, the vast Thainan Empire encompassed the East Asia region. Malin found Japan’s Shikoku and Kyushu, but unfortunately, he couldn’t find the Korean Peninsula, not even a corner of the Northeast, though compared to the entirety of Southeast Asia being gone, Malin felt that this was already not bad.
But is there really no Deity now? No Chaos and Subspace either?
More confusion and incomprehension surrounded Malin, eventually leading him to purchase a comprehensive history book. Malin ran back to his room and began to read.
From this book, Malin learned that this era should be about 1600 years later than his own time.
The invasion of Chaos began five years after Malin’s time. The people of that era resisted for nearly 40 years with the help of the Deity. Both the eastern and western human worlds suffered immense losses until an unnamed hero sacrificed himself to completely sever this world from Subspace.
Malin felt fear because he found that his own existence seemed to be detached from history in this book.
It shouldn’t be this way, Malin...was already the last Malin. Nameless had said that in this Multiverse, there should only be one last Malin left...but hell with it, maybe all this was just the influence of the whispers of the Evil God. Compared to a past that has already become history, the future should have far more uncertainties.
But on the other hand, if one had to prepare for 40 years and still had to fight tooth and nail at the end...no, the firepower isn’t sufficient.
If the old Lee bolt-action rifles aren’t enough, then it’s time to move on to semi-automatic, even fully automatic weapons, and those materials also need to be mastered.
And the recoilless guns, rockets also need to be developed.
Cannons of 155MM, 203MM caliber also need to keep up, if all else fails, railway guns such as Miss Dora (800MM), or the (914MM) Little David can also be made by Malin, who envisions a team of bear people handling the ammunition loading.
For the sake of mighty firepower, for the sake of victory, Malin is not stingy with excessive firepower, and in his eyes, there is no such thing as too much firepower in this world.
But then again, Malin was truly very curious. Up until now, he had already seen the children of Maya, Matilda, Faye, and Nova. What about the other girls’ children? Have they been devoured by time?
Malin fell silent for a moment, and in the end, he could only sigh.
That’s how Fate works; everyone living in the present is actually a winner in life because, whether rich or poor, a world always deals with the impoverished using the most cruel methods—poverty doesn’t last more than three generations.
It’s been 1600 years since then, if this world were really one of possibilities, it’s already not bad that four out of the eight bloodlines of Malin have continued on—especially when there’s no trace of a person like Malin in history.
Picking up the newspaper, Malin flipped to the next page, where the fourth edition unexpectedly featured someone Malin recognized—the leader of Rewo Pharmaceutical Group, Carter Rewo Gaiate, expressed at yesterday’s press conference that they were fully prepared to assist the Southern Pact Group in the upcoming great war. At the same time, he expressed strong indignation over the assassination of his kin, Wayne Gaiate, vowing that Rewo Pharmaceutical Group will suspend all cooperation with the murderer and the mastermind behind the scenes.
Looking at the photo of the small child, observing his black hair and black eyes, Malin suddenly felt joy—Rewo had a child with him, and their descendants had also survived to this time...that’s wonderful.
