Chapter 1111: Section 692: Wish (5)_2

"No problem, they don’t have a ship." The response from Lin, the Sage, was always so straightforward and plain.

Malin cheerfully raised his eyebrows but then thought of another question: "Is it okay to go during the day?"

"Walking on the streets will be fine, but never enter any buildings. You would never guess what terrors lie inside. Even you should avoid falling into danger casually." At this point, Lin the Sage looked at Malin: "You... you plan to go there?"

"Yes, because I heard a song, the girl singing it said she wanted to see the Hung Hom Stadium." Saying this, Malin’s face showed a nostalgic expression.

Then Bei Luo and Jason laughed and sang together: "1997, please hasten, let me stand at Hung Hom Stadium."

Malin laughed heartily: "Exactly."

"It’s a pity that the Hung Hom Stadium was demolished in 2031." Bei Luo shrugged, then looked at Malin: "But the new Hong Kong Stadium is right on the original site, close to the port. Occasionally, Tech Hunters find something there. However, like Lin the Sage, I advise you not to enter the buildings; it’s too dangerous. Various different kinds and Wraiths linger inside, these monsters shun daylight and pose a danger to everyone."

"What are we waiting for? Let’s go." Malin snapped his fingers, Spiritual Energy enveloping the four AI and Malin, preparing to soar on the wind. Malin saw Meng Quyi rushing up from below the deck. The girl looked at Malin: "Mr. Malin, are you planning to leave me behind?"

Malin furrowed his brows, then smiled again as the Spiritual Energy lifted her into the air, Malin waved goodbye to Lin the Sage: "We’ll go and return quickly."

Having said that, Malin led the way, the group of six flying along the coastline, gazing at the sprawling urban ruins. Malin sighed, thinking this must indeed have been the most prosperous area of that era, truly a place where every inch was worth gold.

"By the way, how much was the housing price here?" Malin asked.

"That’s a number Mortals shouldn’t inquire about, sir. Although you’re now Legendary, personally, I don’t think you have much affection for astronomical figures." Bei Luo’s response made Malin abandon the idea of further questioning.

Let the answer dissipate over time in the river of history.

After flying for nearly two hours, Malin and his companions saw the Zhuhai City District, Jinwan Airport was completely different from Malin’s memory—now it’s a giant filled-in airport but today it lies silent along with the whole city, only filled with vehicle wreckage and building ruins.

Flying over Macau, Bei Luo pointed out Macau’s most famous entertainment spot to Malin, looking at the ruins below, Malin felt a sense of poignancy.

"A place once bustling with visitors has been lifeless for eight thousand years; it’s truly absurd, isn’t it?"

Malin’s sigh made Bei Luo also let out a sigh: "I’ve watched human civilization collapse, wanting to do something but powerless. Our companions mutating one by one, all we could do was destroy them one by one... Mr. Malin, do you think someone will change all this?"

"You’ve asked the right person, I’ll attempt to mend the skies." Malin spoke, leading the team across the strait. Flying over Hong Kong International Airport, Malin saw the crowd of zombies packed like sardines on the tarmac.

"Twenty years ago, our Tech Hunters attracted nearby zombies here, then built high walls on the bridge. This area became much safer as a result." With Bei Luo’s introduction, Malin saw the walls.

Though not very high, the forward-leaning walls effectively prevented zombies from climbing.

Additionally, a voice occasionally emanated from the loudspeakers at the airport, keeping the stupid zombies pinned in place.

Then there was the site of Disney Park—this area had been bombed. It was said that a large number of biohumans were initially used for land reclamation here, and after losing control, the biohuman camps were completely bombed. Because reconnaissance aircraft found this area had become a base for zombies, to prevent their explosive growth, bombing was the only option.

Thus the entire Disney Park area, along with nearby camps, turned into lunar surface.

With a sigh, Malin led the team past Margaret Hospital, this area still maintained a defense line. Malin saw people active inside, and Bei Luo gave the answer—zombies in this area were lured into the international airport, and the hospital itself was the residence of a True Lord who favored humans. Thus, Tech Hunters transformed this area into a forward camp. After blasting several tunnel entrances, now during the daytime this area is a safe zone with only a few zombies roaming. However, at night, anyone trying to survive outside the hospital defense never succeeded. They either died or went missing.

No wonder Malin felt as if someone was watching him, as long as it was a True Lord who understood human speech, Malin didn’t mind. Continuing the journey, he finally saw balloons tied in the air with warning signs.

"East from here, below us lies a tunnel; after crossing, it’s truly the danger zone." Bei Luo raised the concern, to which Malin nodded, then continued to lead the team forward.

Flying over the high walls built along the street from the Sharp Hill Tunnel entrance, Malin looked down—indeed as Bei Luo and others had said, every building harbored danger. Although these dangers hardly threatened Malin, while flying over Elizabeth Hospital, Malin still felt the terror beneath his feet in the decrepit hospital.

Although it was merely terror, Malin still took note of it, asking Bei Luo about rumors regarding this area.

"There are no rumors, but since you’ve asked, there must be some grave terror inside."

"It’s just that." Malin wasn’t particularly afraid of the so-called grave terror, as terror for humans didn’t hold much research value for an existence like Malin.

After flying past the hospital, Malin saw the enormous stadium.

As he continued downward, Malin saw the central lawn of the stadium. He landed on the lawn, reaching out to scoop, pulling a small Wraith from a damaged tent beside the corner.

Sighing, he performed Purification on the child, then walked toward the control center.

"Where are you headed?"

"The control center, I want to play a song." To be honest, this was something Malin dreamed of accomplishing from a young age. He and Susu made a wish, saying they wanted to play their favorite song here.

Although Susu separated his emotion from his Spiritual Energy, Malin still believed that by doing this, the girl would surely be very happy.

Throughout the journey, Jason and Bei Luo were anxious, but as Malin walked through the corridor like squashing bugs, crushing various Wraiths and different kinds, he finally pushed open the control center door, seeing the zombies occupying it as their nest, he merely waved his hand, tossing the whole family of zombies, old and young, through the control center glass.

"Great, faster than I expected. Sir Malin, what song would you like to choose?" Bei Luo and Jason happily walked toward the control panel, starting to reboot while looking at Malin.

"Fate, the duet version by Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui, any edition is fine."

Having said that, Malin came to the window, watching those zombies flee in panic—clearly, this family already had intelligence, and Malin couldn’t bear to kill them.

"Found it." With Jason’s response, Malin saw the stage rising at the center.

No farewell sound... no complaints uttered.

Gazing at the virtual images on stage, Malin lit a cigarette for himself.

Eight thousand years... who else in this world would understand?
