Chapter 1091: Section 684: You Know I Know Who is Who (Part 2)
The roars of chaos creatures could be heard clearly here, as if their breathing could be heard as well.
Pointing the gun muzzle to the side of the window, Sudel fitted the scope onto the head of the chaos commander climbing over the wall ruins. This little fellow dressed in dirt-colored clothing had an extremely ugly appearance. Their components were varied, including Mimicking Birds, Sinspawn, Nagoth, and even some holding unknown Evil God flags.
The only thing not seen was Khorne, which was peculiar.
Pulling the trigger, Sudel quickly operated the bolt. The short-barreled rifle gifted by Malin had a fifteen-round integral magazine, using five-round stripper clips. Unfortunately, it currently had only seven bullets loaded... no, just six now, as one just pierced the head of the chaos commander with a little mustache.
For today, Sudel had specially flattened each bullet head and carved a cross pattern on them. It was said that Malin once mentioned that such actions were inhumane when facing humans, but now Sudel only saw chaos creatures before him.
They might once have been human, but now these mutated different kinds absolutely could not be called human anymore.
They were Evil God’s minions, chaos’s claws, scum not worth mourning.
Fitting another commander’s head into the scope, Sudel looked at his insane grin and, with absolute revulsion, pulled the trigger.
Malin, the belief of our sharpshooters, I present my game to you.
Operating the bolt, Sudel didn’t have time to watch the target fall. He worked the bolt, ejected the shell, then raised the rifle to bring the captured machine gun into the scope—this twin-wheel machine gun could be used for both high and low fire. A week ago, a Noble’s regiment was lost on the front line, at first, everyone thought the regiment was entirely wiped out.
But facts taught everyone there’s always something left for future generations. This time, what’s left was the machine gun with spare ammo.
Because several chaos beings were pushing the machine gun ammo, appearing along with their companions.
Putting down the rifle, Sudel grabbed the grenade launcher from the wall—this too was provided by Malin, used for nighttime raids on chaos munitions stores.
You are our beacon, our pointer.
Raising the sight, he compared the distance, standing in front of the broken wall, aiming the rear toward the damaged spot—only this way would he not roast himself upon firing.
This 40-centimeter diamond-shaped explosive grenade, filled with Sudel’s disappointment towards the transport captain, flew out of the window. Under the gaze of all creatures in the area, it directly struck the ammo box on the slope top, and the next moment, a huge explosion cleaned up the nearby chaos creatures.
Discarding the useless part of the single-use launcher, Sudel held the rifle in his left hand and drew the revolver from his waist with his right, pulling the trigger at a chaos creature that flew in through the window.
We revere you, may you lend me a helping hand.
Jumping through the hole purposely dug between buildings, Sudel came to the window, lowered his rifle and carefully pulled the rifle out of the dead hands of another sharp shooter unit there—the bullet from the opposite side drilled through the aiming scope so Sudel grabbed the hair of this ’corpse’, yanking its head back, simultaneously plunging a blessing dagger infused with silver into its back. The Corpse Ghoul shrieked once, failing to complete its transformation ritual, it died again.
Followers of Nagoth, this poor comrade was corrupted, his soul trapped within his shell. Sudel’s actions were not desecrating his corpse, but opening a way for his soul to return to the River of Mana.
May you guard the souls of the dead, just as you guard our souls.
Restoring the dead body to the prior firing position, Sudel glanced at the sky—the sun had reached its zenith, no mirrors could cause reflections in the room, so Sudel took out a small mirror with a gemstone handle.
This was gifted to him by a lovely noble lady, when the Nobles sent their kin away from this port, a lovely lady handed him this mirror. She was one of the few among the Nobles whom Sudel couldn’t bring himself to dislike.
Not because she was a woman, but because she, like these men, faced chaos directly on the battlefield.
She served in the sharpshooter squad for two months, killed forty-seven chaos creatures. Contrasting her cowardly kind, this woman’s prowess was visible to the naked eye.
"This is my vanity mirror, kept for you, won’t you turn it into a weapon to kill chaos?"
Indeed, this is my weapon.
When the dead were discovered, the body was leaning left, the bullet pierced the scope, entered through his right eye, and then exited the head at an almost level... no, it should have drilled upward at a slight angle.
The bullet flew across the room, ultimately drilling into the wall at a similar height.
Following the potential angle of bullet entry, Sudel identified where the guests might be hiding.
That was a damaged siege tower, the tower body largely intact, only it was singed by fire once, so it looked unimpressive.
Just thinking about that, Sudel saw the muzzle flash.
Sudel picked up his rifle, first adjusting the scope settings, then calculating the northern summer wind direction and speed. All of this posed no trouble for Sudel.
