Chapter 108: Ninety-fourth Section: Accidents and Assistance

The Mobik family was one of the thirty warriors back in the day, and now their lineage is thinning out. This made Malin think about something—it seems that the families of the thirty warriors that have lasted to this day all have very few descendants.

Let’s not talk about those families that just died off. The Mischael family only has one male and one female descendant. In this chaotic world, these two people are always in danger of the extinction of their bloodline.

Though Mowish only has three sons and three daughters, anyhow, the current head of the Mowish family is a legend. If he doesn’t fall, he’ll have plenty of time to foster new offspring in the next hundred years. Lady Manli might not live to see that time, but it’s clear Lady Anna won’t have a problem.

So, when Malin heard that the Mobik family now only had one master, one lady, and two children who were almost eight years old, he instinctively felt something was off.

Oh come on, the world is so dangerous—have you not thought about having more children?

Well, in the end, it’s because my own foundation is too shallow; there are many things that are not secrets to the locals, but Malin is completely unaware.

It seems, establishing an intelligence network that I control can be put on the agenda.

The only problem is... who will be in charge?

If it were before, Malin would have handed this matter to Maya, but since she showed her talent, Malin wouldn’t possibly let his sister do such trivial work.

So, it’s necessary to choose a reliable candidate.

"Malin."

"What’s wrong, Jon."

Pulled back to reality from his thoughts, Malin looked at Jon beside him; they were sitting on top of the carriage—the place below was for the girls, while the older boys from the Church of Justice could only sit on the boards behind the carriage, eating dust.

"You seem so serious; do you think there’s a problem?"

"Isn’t it obvious? The Mobik family came back two months ago and now the neighbors nearby say that it’s been a long while since anyone has entered or exited their estate. Where do you think their family went?"

Malin looked at Jon, feeling as though the young man had taken a hit to his head last time.

"Of course, I know there’s a problem. The problem I’m talking about is a big one, like we push open the door and see dozens of Chaos dancing tap dance with a Great Demon behind them wearing a masquerade costume and singing opera softly." Jon shared his so-called big problem.

Malin was amused by his idea: "As if behind the Great Demon, there are hundreds of witches dancing in high heels and purple dresses, and they have to put a spotlight on the Great Demon Lord to make his song more emotional."

"That’s not a bad idea."

"What ’not bad’? You fool!"

A girl who crawled out from under the carriage hit Jon with the stick in her hand and then looked at Malin with an embarrassed smile: "I’m sorry, Mr. Malin. Sometimes it seems like my brother’s brain is waterlogged. Please do not take any offense."

"I don’t mind. Don’t worry, Jon is just joking with me to lighten the mood," Malin replied.

"Yeah, with the atmosphere so tense, I’m just making a joke to ease everyone’s minds. Why did you hit me, sis?" Jon protested as he sat up, rubbing the back of his head.

"Then, keep up your hot air." After rolling her eyes at her brother, the sister ducked back into the carriage.

Malin couldn’t whistle anymore; as for him, all the jokes were over, and what was left to do was to confirm the situation on site.

......

When the carriage arrived at the estate, there were already a few police officers putting up caution tape. From atop the carriage, Malin could see even more police inside, along with some people who seemed to be civilians.

Malin jumped down from the carriage and walked up to the caution tape with the Justice Maiden, Matilda. She glanced at Malin, who nodded: "It’s all true."

"Good afternoon, Officer. This is the Church of Justice. What happened with the Mobik estate?"

"Ah, so good of you to come so quickly." A police officer smiled and lifted the caution tape. Malin glanced at Matilda, who nodded and turned to signal everyone to spread out and take action.

Malin took a shotgun from his back and started loading it, while Jon lay prone on the carriage roof setting up his own gun. His sister knelt beside him as a lookout. The rest of the people also began to arm themselves.

"What’s happening, Your Excellency?" The officer was puzzled—if it hadn’t been for the Church, they would have drawn their guns by now as well, and pointed them at Malin and his party.

"We received information that the Mobik estate hasn’t seen any activity for a long time. We came today to investigate."

"We’re here to investigate too. Mr. Mobik was said to have borrowed quite a bit of money from the Church of the God of Wealth recently. Today, a Bishop brought a team over, so we brought him along to the estate, only to discover Mr. Mobik and his family had met with tragedy long ago." The officer said with a regretful shrug: "It’s better if you go in and see for yourselves, it’s horrible."

Malin was taken aback, looked at Matilda who nodded slightly. Leading the way, he walked toward the main building of the estate with her following.

"Mrs. Mobik was a good person; I never thought they would be murdered."

"It’s terrible, I never imagined a nice family like the Mobiks would be killed."
