Chapter 1024: Section 657: Love from the Past (Part 4)

The fleet that Malin was part of set off from Tbilisi, traveling south along this deep canal formed by geological rifts, and upon entering the sea again, Malin learned their current location from Sostak No.3—Persian Gulf.

As they journeyed along the canal, there were biochemical human fortresses everywhere. According to Wanda’s leader, these were rational biochemical humans, and they had headed south, turning these deserted cities into their paradise.

Chaos had little military presence in this region, appearing more in the North of this area.

The Sinai Peninsula and the entire Africa were gone, with no operational satellites passing over Africa, and rerouting surviving satellites was too extravagant. Sostak No.3 expressed that if the biochemical humans could really find something, let them conquer it.

"At least they are still indigenous to Earth." During a week’s time in Tbilisi, Sostak No.3 sensed the biochemical humans’ desire for civilization. In his words, compared to the northern zombies with swinging rods between their legs, these biochemical humans, who knew to wrap themselves in animal skins, were much more endearing.

He had no uncanny valley effect, and Malin heard Matilda complain that those zombies didn’t resemble humans at all, and she had no moral qualms when killing them.

But the biochemical humans were different, even if they appeared more civilized and human-like, precisely because of this, she felt fear.

Malin acknowledged Matilda’s fear because he had seen her subconsciously get alarmed multiple times—those situations where nothing happened, yet she suddenly got spooked.

She feared biochemical humans due to her past injuries and the after-effects of being a Paladin fighting zombies—in her memory, several people in her family had died from corpse venom, giving her reason to resent biochemical humans.

However, Matilda also admitted that these biochemical humans were fundamentally different from their northern counterparts.

This troubled her greatly, so Malin eventually sent her back to Rongma.

Malin had no issues with biochemical humans, possibly due to his alien heritage; his father had encountered things far scarier than biochemical humans.

So in the subconscious of his bloodline memory, biochemical humans were just little cuties in hard shells.

And speaking of biochemical humans, Malin had to mention Konen, whose physique was enviable to everyone—in the former Deyar Port, now a satellite city established by Thanan, this young man chased down a deer capable of running 100 meters in just 4.7 seconds.

The kid wasn’t claiming to run 100 meters in 4.6 seconds; rather, he tirelessly pursued the deer for thirty minutes, exhausting it.

The Transcendent by Mr. Meng’s side remarked that this biochemical offspring was outrageous, not even a Transcendent, just a child not yet fully grown.

"No, stronger than the zombies we can find in the North and South of Thanan." The ambassador, though aged, still had sharp eyes and keenly sensed the difference.

Malin thought for a moment, called the child over, and handed him a spear: "Kid, see that cow?" Malin referred to the giant wild cattle in the area, which Jason analyzed to be domesticated meat cattle that escaped from breeding farms after the collapse of civilization, reproducing over time in this region.

The adult now weighs four tons, the average size for cows, with some male individuals reaching an insane seven tons. These cattle are all muscle-bound, Mr. Meng mentioned that only the calves taste good, while the adult’s meat, though edible, requires days of cooking, and chefs without Transcendent skills can’t even slice raw beef.

"Should I stab it?" Konen asked Malin, eager to try.

"I want you to throw it from here." Malin shook his head—if you stab the cow with your little self, how do I put you together afterward?

So this child took only a couple of steps without much long-distance acceleration and launched the spear.

The spear flew over 200 yards, breaking the sound barrier as it left his hand, then struck the side of another calf beside the target.

The pack of over twenty wild cattle first paid attention to the fallen calf, then charged towards Malin.

Malin raised both hands, and the earth began to churn, a trench of very satisfactory width and depth appeared in the charging path of the herd.

Watching them plunge into the trench, Mr. Meng whistled, and the light cavalry from Deyar City gleefully bypassed the trench to pursue the dozen or so calves.

"Strong strength, but it still needs more practice." Malin patted Konen on the shoulder.

The kid smiled happily, then ran to retrieve the spear, and upon returning said, "Sir, this spear is broken."

"This spear can’t handle your strength. Come, boy, I’ll give you something better." With that, Malin took out his .50 revolver: "This is a firearm, take it and stand by the trench, use it to kill the wounded cattle, Jason, go teach him, make sure he doesn’t mess up his first performance."

Konen took the gun Malin handed him and walked joyfully towards the trench—not once had he seen his tutor Malin and tender-skinned humans use such weapons to take down prey that seemed very dangerous to him, and now being able to use them himself, the boy was overjoyed.
