The game loaded quickly.
The loading screen also had a nice feel to it, you could tell that Pei Gou and his classmates put effort into designing it.
The loading screen showed a biotech company, but the glass inside was already cracked, with bloody handprints on it, and the employees inside seemed to be frantically fleeing.
There wasn’t a single zombie on the entire loading screen.
Mr. Ding understood why, as if the game followed the storyline set by Pei Gou and his classmates for the "Resident Evil" series, zombies hadn’t emerged at the beginning.
It was only after the T-virus outbreak that the zombie frenzy would kick-off!
Quickly, the loading was complete, and all five of them entered the game.
"Principal Ding, after we enter the game, our initial identities are employees of the Umbrella Company, and the biohazard is about to break out soon."
Pei Gou briefly introduced the situation to Principal Ding.
He tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible while giving Principal Ding and Director Huang, Secretary Wen, and Miss An more information to make the game smoother for them.
"Alright, got it."
Ding Yue noticed that the game’s graphics were very realistic, the product of the Feiyue Game Engine crafted by his own Mist City Arts and Science University, and enhanced by the highest settings and top-notch audio, lighting, and effects.
He quickly became immersed in his character on the screen.
"Hey, Mr. Ding, hurry and lend a hand, the company is swamped today..."
An NPC character approached Ding Yue’s character and interacted with him.
So, Ding Yue began to go about the company’s business as directed by the NPC, with the option to participate or not.
But Ding Yue was one to break the mold, and he directly said to the NPC, "I go because you told me to?"
After saying this, Ding Yue also controlled his character to punch the NPC!
Suddenly, a conflict erupted inside the company building.
"Principal Ding, which floor are you on? I’m on the twenty-seventh," Secretary Wen Ruohan wanted to find Principal Ding.
After all, as Pei Gou just mentioned, once the T-virus outbreak happens, the biohazard starts, at which point the five of them would surely have to work together to survive the onslaught.
"I am..."
Ding Yue checked the information available to him, then replied, "I’m on the thirty-ninth floor, I just knocked someone out, holy shit, security is coming to restrain me!"
Right after Ding Yue responded to Secretary Wen Ruohan, he noticed two security officers from the company heading his way.
Clearly, because he had impulsively hit a company NPC employee, the security officers would certainly try to restrain him promptly.
"Principal Ding, you can’t afford to get caught now, or we’ll have to rescue you later, which will be a hassle."
Pei Gou quickly explained.
Normally, one would interact with NPCs, but Principal Ding, true to his unconventional reputation, simply punched the NPC upon arrival.
And now he had stirred up some trouble.
"Uh, that’s the case, eh? Then I’d better run!"
As Ding Yue said this, he turned to run but bumped into someone who seemed to be playing a company executive role.
Then the two security officers came up and restrained Ding Yue’s character.
"Oh no, I got caught, where will they take me?"
Ding Yue was completely baffled.
He had just entered the game and was already caught by company security.
"Principal Ding, they’ll probably take you to the mediation room and lock you up there for a while. After the company communicates with the NPC, they’ll call him over to mediate with you. But by then, it would likely be too late."
Pei Gou quickly explained.
"What should I do?"
Ding Yue urgently asked.
If he were locked in the mediation room, he couldn’t flee once the T-virus outbreak began and the zombies emerged.
"I’ll go steal the keys!"
After saying this, Pei Gou began to take action.
"So what should we do now?"
Huang Youjie inquired.
"According to the setup, the T-virus will leak in a bit, and the biohazard will erupt. We need to take precautionary steps. Head to the company’s armory to secure some weapons. But the armory is guarded. Think the three of you can handle it?"
Pei Gou explained.
"No problem, leave it to us!"
Huang Youjie was brimming with confidence.
The freedom in this "Resident Evil" game was quite high, you could do whatever you wanted. Since it was a survival game, the primary mission was obviously to survive during the biohazard crisis.
"Okay, Pei Gou, you come to rescue me, and then Huang, you take Xiao Wen and Miss An to get some weapons!"
Ding Yue quickly ordered.
"Roger that."
"Principal Ding, besides weapons, we also need food, medicine, and stuff like adrenaline shots," Pei Gou added.
"Did you hear that, Huang? Get food, meds, adrenaline, all of it!"
Ding Yue again instructed Huang.
"Man, is this game really that realistic?" Huang joked and then quickly set off with Wen Ruohan and An Yujia to gather weapons and supplies.
