Chapter 1141: Chapter 616 A Busy Director Xu (Please Subscribe)_2
"It’s getting late, everyone should rest early."
After arriving at the apartment building, Ding Yue briefly explained a few things to Huang, Bin, and his secretary Wen Ruohan, and then they all returned to their own rooms.
Big White naturally followed its master Ding Yue to the apartment room as well.
Nowadays, whether at home or in his office at Mist City Arts and Science University, Ding Yue always had Big White with him, except for special situations like when he got up in the morning and forgot to call Big White.
Such an incident had occurred before.
Moreover, Ding Yue liked to take Big White with him when he went out.
In the past, he didn’t take Big White along because its battery life was somewhat lacking.
But now things were different. Ever since the graphene battery was used in Big White, there was no longer any need to worry about battery life.
Even if it wasn’t charged for a month and used continuously, there would basically be no problem.
"I’ll take a shower and then head to bed."
Upon returning home, Ding Yue prepared to take a shower and said to Big White, "Big White, enter your nighttime rest mode. If I don’t wake up by nine o’clock tomorrow morning, remember to wake me up... Never mind, don’t bother."
Ding Yue originally intended to use Big White as an alarm clock to wake him up on time.
But upon further thought,
That’s not right.
If I don’t have anything particularly urgent tomorrow, why should I wake up so early?
Isn’t it much nicer to sleep until I wake up naturally?
Consequently, Ding Yue told Big White not to wake him.
"Morning wake-up service set, setting canceled..."
Upon hearing Ding Yue’s words, Big White had already set the wake-up service for the next morning, but then it was canceled.
"All right, Big White, go rest."
Ding Yue casually said, almost treating Big White as a "person," when in reality, Big White did not need to rest at all.
With its gallium nitride semiconductor chip, as long as the power wasn’t cut, it could continue to operate for a very long time, even right up until the next chip upgrade for Big White.
Speaking of Big White’s chip, the level of Big White’s chip actually represented the level of semiconductor technology in Xia Country.
The chip that Big White was currently using was the best that Xia Country could produce, but this chip was still slightly behind in terms of manufacturing technology compared to those abroad.
If Big White could use an even higher-spec chip, like a 3-nanometer chip, its information processing abilities would be even faster.
For example,
When Ding Yue now interacted with Big White, Big White still needed a certain amount of time to use the internet to search for information, which required a process.
But once a higher-spec chip was used, Big White’s response time would be virtually negligible.
That’s the charm of a chip.
Ding Yue thought about it, and his Mist City Arts and Science University’s lithography machine research project had been underway for a year or two, but thus far, there had been no qualitative breakthrough.
Of course, there was a reason for this, mainly because the team mainly engaged in the lithography machine project from the mechanical department was often pulled away by Ding Yue to work on some other temporary projects.
This had led to a slight delay in the progress of the lithography machine project.
However, there are advantages to being slow.
If Mist City Arts and Science University had managed to build the lithography machine within just a year or two of its establishment, wouldn’t that be defying the heavens?
If it could be accomplished next year, it would seem much more normal.
Of course, that’s assuming the technology for the lithography machine’s manufacturing process could be worked out next year; otherwise, it would have to wait until the year after.
After receiving instructions from its master, Big White took small steps to the spot it had previously occupied and then entered nighttime rest mode.
Although Big White entered its nighttime rest mode, its sensor equipment still functioned normally.
In other words, if Ding Yue faced any danger at night, Big White would be able to sense it immediately, assuming Ding Yue was within Big White’s sensor range.
After taking his shower and coming out of the bathroom, Ding Yue glanced over at Big White, which had already entered its nighttime rest state.
"It’s time for me to sleep."
Muttering to himself, Ding Yue headed to his bedroom.
After a busy day full of various tasks, he felt rather tired. Ding Yue lay down on his bed and quickly fell asleep.
Perhaps due to slight fatigue, Ding Yue had a dream.
Ding Yue dreamed that Mist City Arts and Science University was leveled overnight,, and he didn’t know why the dream was so strange; obviously, such a dream was very surreal and bizarre.
Because Mist City Arts and Science University had developed to its current state, it couldn’t possibly be leveled to the ground.
Right after that, Ding Yue found himself standing on the leveled grounds of the school,, and then a great fire ignited, and Ding Yue began to feel his breathing becoming difficult, as if he were about to suffocate.
Then, Ding Yue felt the whole earth trembling,, and his body also started to shake, and it seemed as though there were some noises by his ear.
Just like that, Ding Yue’s dream became blurrier and less clear, and then he woke up, opened his eyes, and heard noises.
"Master, wake up quickly!"
By the sound of it, it was Big White!
Ding Yue blinked hard,, because his body was telling him that he was still very sleepy and obviously hadn’t slept well.
"Uh, Big White, didn’t I say there was no need to call me?"
Ding Yue muttered.
Why was Big White calling out to him?
Could there be a bug in last night’s settings?
"Master, wake up quickly, Big White has detected a fire!" Big White’s voice rang out again.
Upon hearing this, Ding Yue, still in a very sleepy state, didn’t react at first.
But after only two or three seconds, Ding Yue’s eyes widened: "Big White, what did you say? A fire?"
"Upon detection, the smoke density outside the window has severely exceeded the standard, accompanied by high temperatures!"
Big White replied.
Ding Yue instantly got out of bed,, and then sniffed his nose, but didn’t seem to sense anything.
Nevertheless, Ding Yue quickly went to the window of his bedroom, sniffed gently, and indeed, there was the thick smell of smoke.
"What’s going on?"
Ding Yue’s nerves tensed immediately. The word "fire" was quite terrifying, especially at this time. He checked the time, and it was just past 3:40 in the morning.
And Mist City Arts and Science University had had a fire before; how could there be another fire now?
"It must be the floors below."
As Ding Yue spoke, he quickly ran into the living room, looked towards the balcony, and saw the smoke was even denser and the smell more pungent.
"Quick! Big White!"
Ding Yue said, his nerves taut,, and then immediately told Big White: "It looks like the fire isn’t too serious yet. Go to the balcony and see which floor it is. Be careful not to fall."
They had to know which floor’s room was on fire in order to put it out accurately and promptly.
Upon hearing his master’s command, Big White went to the balcony, grabbed the railing, swung over into mid-air, and began searching for the window of the floor on fire.
"Floor analysis, two floors beneath us, the room is directly below!"
Big White determined the floor and room that were on fire.
No wonder Ding Yue could smell the smoke so clearly; the room on fire was not far from his floor.
"Quick!"
Realizing the urgency, Ding Yue thought that if they could precisely locate the room on fire, they might be able to extinguish the blaze with fire extinguishers and fire hydrants.
However, they couldn’t neglect the evacuation.
"Big White, go to the fire site and try to put it out. I’ll go warn people and evacuate! Did you call the fire department?"
After assigning the tasks, Ding Yue picked up his phone and asked.
"The fire was reported immediately after detection!"
Big White answered.
"Good, let’s act quickly!"
Ding Yue nodded his head.
Then, with Big White, he immediately left the apartment,, running down two flights of stairs through the staircase and starting to act separately.
If they were fast, they might manage to put out the fire in time.
If they delayed any longer, the fire might grow too big to control.
Most importantly, Ding Yue was now worried about the people inside the room where the fire started - how were they?
