Chapter 99: Chapter 99: A Few Things About Military Training_1

"What does ’warm man’ mean?" This time, Tan Heqian finally seized the opportunity to ask.

Jiang Biyun let out a laugh, "Are you dumb? A ’warm man’ is a guy who warms your heart!"

He Zhilan only smiled without saying anything, indeed a ’warm man’ could be interpreted that way.

The guy next to them started grinning when he heard this. He shouted at Lin Deng from across the way, "Instructor! We’ve got it—you trained us all afternoon to foster our team spirit. Were you trying to make us all ’warm men’?"

Lin Deng looked confused at first, but then he walked over and sat down in front of them. With an air of importance, he nodded and then directed towards the men who were being punished, "So many girls are waiting for your help, and yet you all charge ahead, hardly thinking. Without some punishment, you’d still be single even after graduation, struggling to find a girlfriend. Then you’ll blame me for not training you well!"

"Instructor, they deserve to stay single!" Jiang Biyun laughed so hard she could hardly stand up.

The guys who were still doing push-ups and taking counts burst into laughter once they heard this. In their amusement, they lost count and had to start over.

Seeing that they had had enough, Lin Deng told everyone to rest and gave out the evening’s activities. He then blew his whistle and led the way as he announced, "You’re dismissed for now. After dinner, assemble at the small auditorium at seven sharp! Anyone dare to skip will have extra meals tomorrow!"

The thought of having to assemble again in the evening drained everyone of their laughter. They couldn’t fathom what kind of training awaited them at the school’s small auditorium.

After the team training with Lin Deng, the guys finally took initiative. Seeing any girl who could no longer move from exhaustion, they rushed over to lend a hand.

"These guys, they finally realized they should be gentle!" Jiang Biyun, who had barely managed to stand up with Tan Heqian’s support, joked as she shook her trembling legs.

He Zhilan wasn’t feeling any better than Jiang Biyun, her limbs aching so much that they no longer felt like her own. Any movement sent waves of excruciating pain through her body.

"Can you stand?" Tan Heqian gripped Jiang Biyun with one hand while reaching out for He Zhilan with the other.

He Zhilan shook her head helplessly, "Let me sit here and recover for a moment—I really don’t want to move right now."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Biyun also sat back down, "I need a break too. I’m so tired—I don’t even want to move. My arms and legs don’t feel like mine anymore. He Zhilan, are you sure you didn’t take mine by mistake?"

"Could you not tell such creepy ghost stories in broad daylight?" Tan Heqian shrugged and squatted down between the two girls, taking in the scene around him. Nearly everyone had dispersed, and many of the guys were carrying the girls.

"He Zhilan, Jiang Biyun—do you want Tan Heqian and I to each carry one of you back to your dormitories?" A classmate noticed the two of them still sitting and came over to ask.

"No need, Jiang Biyun and I just need to catch our breath for a bit, then we should be able to stand on our own." He Zhilan shook her head and gave him a reassuring smile.

Jiang Biyun also waved him off. Once the area had cleared out, Jiang Biyun crept forward like a crab towards He Zhilan, staring daggers at her, "Finally, an opportunity to talk to you! Out with it—what’s the deal with your husband! You’re married?!"
