Chapter 808: Chapter 808: Reserved He Teng 6
"That won’t do!" He Zhilan pouted and said, "Don’t think about getting rid of them while I’m away! I’m telling you, He Teng, as long as they are here, I am here. If they die, I die too!"
He Teng’s mouth twitched slightly, and he lightly spit out two words, "Aspire!" Then he scoffed and walked away, saying, "Anyway, I’ve told you I won’t deal with these things. You brought them here yourself, if you can’t bear to part with them, take them back to your school dormitory!"
He Zhilan was not surprised at all that He Teng would say this.
However, He Zhilan still left the four pots of plants at He Teng’s place. Before leaving, she made He Teng promise a thousand times over to take good care of them, and then she left with Chen Ya’nan in a car for school from the military base.
Because the military was conveniently headed to the city, He Teng didn’t go out of his way to take He Zhilan to school. After she left, he went straight to the training ground, didn’t even return to his dorm at noon, and only headed back after eating dinner in the canteen in the evening.
It must be said that He Zhilan does have some ability; every time she visits, she leaves a pile of her things here.
Last time it was clothes, this time it’s shoes and the four pots sitting on the windowsill.
After taking a shower, He Teng habitually sat in front of the windowsill reading a book. However, when he looked up and saw the four pots on the windowsill, he thought of He Zhilan. Seeing the Mimosa that had already closed up, he remembered her excited tone when she was talking about how interesting Mimosa was.
Unconsciously, He Teng reached out and touched the Mimosa. Normally, touching the already closed leaves wouldn’t do much, but unexpectedly, when he touched it this time, the branches of the Mimosa comically pressed down as if dodging.
Suddenly, the illustrious Deputy Regimental Commander He took interest in this little plant, put down his book, and started to fiddle with the Mimosa. However, when he touched it again, it no longer reacted, and then He Teng sat back down in his chair to continue reading.
At the school, He Zhilan was both connected and had solid qualifications, so she was treated favorably in many aspects.
Since school had just started, there was not much for the English teacher, He Zhilan, to do. After getting her teaching materials, the next steps were to complete the onboarding and then prepare her lesson plans.
After eating lunch, He Zhilan made a phone call to He Teng, timing it knowing that He Teng wouldn’t return to the dorm after eating but would go to the office instead. So when she called the office, He Teng was there to answer.
"Ha, I knew it. You wouldn’t go back to the dorm at noon since I’m not there, and even if it’s break time, you’d still curl up in the office for a while." As soon as He Teng answered the phone, he heard He Zhilan’s triumphant words. After she finished speaking, he just lightly hummed in response and asked, "How is everything at school? Can you adapt?"
"Everything here at school is great, the school leaders treat me very well. Plus, being a new teacher, I don’t have to take on a homeroom class, so the workload shouldn’t be too heavy," replied He Zhilan. "I’m teaching senior year two, and there are eight classes in total, roughly four to five lessons a day."
At that time, English was not a subject offered at all schools. Some schools that were more progressive in education might have the course, but it wasn’t a focus, so typically, a school would have one English teacher per grade level, and each class would have about three English lessons a week.
