"And you!" He Zhilan raised her hand and lightly tapped Jiang Biyun’s head, laughing, "I heard you’re introducing your parents to Lin Deng tomorrow. Have you arranged the time?"

"Yes!" Jiang Biyun smiled, "My parents said they’d decide whether or not to allow me to stay in the capital after they’ve seen Lin Deng. But I have faith, Lin Deng will definitely win them over. The man I love, my parents are sure to love him too! More so, my parents always knew of Lin Deng’s existence. During the last holiday, Lin Deng had sought me out, it was only after he joined the military and had less time that he couldn’t come to see me."

"That’s good, after all, the two of you have been dating for quite a long time." He Zhilan smiled, her mind teeming with curiosity. During the New Year celebration in the military base, Gu En had clearly warned her to keep Jiang Biyun away from Lin Deng. He Zhilan had even sought an opportunity to pass the warning on to Jiang Biyun. Yet after all this time, she and Jiang Biyun kept worrying if Gu En would do anything. It was exactly as Ding Jinshi had said, life is short—lasting merely several decades. Being able to walk through each spring, summer, autumn, and winter with the person one loves is truly a blessed thing.

That night, the five good friends chatted till dawn. They reminisced about the events of the past years and talked about their hopes and expectations for the future. They made a pact that no matter what happens in life, they should never forget each other and should always turn to one another for help, even if they are at the farthest ends of the world.

They all knew that not many four-year periods in a person’s life could be spent with close friends like this. They all cherished this friendship deeply.

The next morning, everyone in the dormitory was packing their clothes, preparing to leave school. The school had rules for graduates – the dorms could not be permanently occupied by them.

Dragging their luggage with them, they met at the school gate. After a round of emotional hugging, each went their own way.

Tan Heqian and his parents returned to the south. He would be working there, with no certain plans of when he would return to the capital.

Among the group of friends, only Wang Bingbing, Jiang Biyun and He Zhilan planned to stay in the capital for a while. Whether Jiang Biyun could stay in the capital in the future hinged on Lin Deng’s performance in front of her parents, while Wang Bingbing had already landed a job at a chemical plant and planned to start work after a few days of rest.

Before graduation, Lin Chan helped He Zhilan find an apartment in the capital. It was a two-bedroom apartment, neat and clean. He Teng had to rush back to the military base, so Lin Chan was the one who came to fetch He Zhilan.

"Tonight, we are throwing you a celebration party at the hotel to congratulate you on your successful graduation!"
