"He Zhilan, the principal wants you to go to his office."

"Did they say why?" He Zhilan gave a puzzled glance at Lin Chan in the car, and shrugged to him, "The principal is calling for me?"

Bemused, He Zhilan’s face revealed uncertainty; after all, the principal was a person of the Gu Family, so he wouldn’t call for her without any reason.

Lin Chan understood what He Zhilan was hinting at, so he locked the car and walked over saying, "Well, I’m free anyway, I’ll accompany my dear sister Zhilan to meet the long unseen principal!"

With Lin Chan around, He Zhilan felt a bit more confident and continued to ask the instructor if he knew why the principal were looking for her.

Turns out, this time, the instructor did indeed know. He nodded and directly told He Zhilan the reason.

"Someone reported your quick marriage and swift divorce to the school leaders. Some of them, along with the principal, are very upset. They seem to think this reflects poorly on your character, and apparently they’ve had a discussion about expelling you."

These few words caused both He Zhilan and Lin Chan to freeze in their tracks.

"Someone? You mean Gu En, who else could it be?" He Zhilan coldly sneered, "Does the Gu Family think my presence at Capital University still makes their eyes sore?"

Lin Chan looked at He Zhilan, a hint of worry and heartache in his eyes. Who wouldn’t bleed inwardly from being forced into a corner by their own parents?

"It’s alright, I’m here," Lin Chan patted He Zhilan’s back comfortingly, "If they really dare expel you, I’ll flip his office upside down! Then, any other school in the capital, you pick, I’ll arrange it for you."

"We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it." He Zhilan shook her head; unless it was the absolute last resort, she did not want to leave Capital University.

This is the best and most prestigious school in the country. Her father was overjoyed when she was admitted here. So, unless necessary, she didn’t want to leave and disappoint her father, or cause him to worry about her life in the capital.

The three of them headed toward the principal’s office, but the instructor left them at the door. He Zhilan and Lin Chan entered alone.

Seeing Lin Chan present, the school leaders had a rather amusing expression. Before addressing the real issue, they greeted Lin Chan and excused themselves, leaving only the principal behind with a less than pleasant face; clearly, they didn’t want to directly offend Lin Chan.

"Principal, I hear you want to expel He Zhilan because she has ’poor character’?" As soon as he stepped in, Lin Chan, quite the lordly figure, dragged a chair and sat down in front of the principal.

In reality, Lin Chan didn’t have to be so brash, but this situation wasn’t a pleasant one.

"Since you already know, I won’t beat around the bush. A young girl, barely married, is involved in numerous scandals, and now she’s divorced. Our Capital University is the best of the nation, we absolutely cannot tolerate students who tarnish our school’s reputation."

"When all that gossip happened before, didn’t the Dean of Students Office examine and prove that someone was intentionally trying to smear my reputation? Now on what grounds are you saying my character is flawed and want to expel me? Just because I, at a young age, got married and divorced? So, getting married and divorced implies poor character? Are you so certain that my divorce was because of my poor character and that’s why my husband divorced me?"

He Zhilan could only laugh in disbelief, "Principal, the Gu family has given you quite a few benefits, right? So, being the head of a school, you can blatantly lie with your eyes wide open? Claiming I have a flawed character hence the divorce? That’s absurd. My husband and I divorced, but his army faction never once said anything against me. Principal, how can you be so convinced of my flawed character?"
