Without uttering a word, He Teng kept urging the doctor to move faster. His strides were large, and he would exceed the doctor after only a few steps, then he’d turn around to urge him again. Eventually, he ran out of patience. Fed up with the doctor’s slow pace, he even went as far as to hoist the doctor onto his shoulder. The doctor was terrified. It wasn’t until they reached the ward that He Teng finally put him down.

Upon arriving at the ward, He Teng finally understood why Lin Chan was panicking that much. He had only left for a short while, and the ward was already a mess. All items on the table had been swept to the floor. The floor itself was wet, with shards of a thermos scattered across.

On the bed, He Zhilan, let out a sudden scream the moment the doctor entered. She shouted at people to get lost in the manner of a madwoman who had lost her mind. As she cried, she was unceasingly pulling at her own hair, as if it didn’t pain at all.

"Nurse! Sedative!" the doctor shouted at the nurse, who was running in from behind. Then he said to He Teng, "Hold your wife still, don’t let her move!"

He Teng nodded, ran straight forward, and tightly gripped He Zhilan’s hands. He then pulled her tightly into his embrace, making sure her hands and feet could not move.

After a sedative, He Zhilan gradually calmed down in He Teng’s arms. Yet, she was not sleeping, but continuously crying with her eyes open.

"What happened? This patient took sleeping pills to commit suicide; she should not have lost emotional control after waking up. How do you all take care of patients? You aggravated her emotions so much?" The doctor berated everyone in the room, "What’s going on here! Did you come to visit the patient or to upset her?"

Outside, Gu En’s grandmother and mother were also scared silly. They had never thought that a single threat would agitate the patient to such an extent.

"What happened just now?" He Teng looked around the room.

"Gu En’s grandmother and mother came here earlier saying they wanted to have a private talk with your wife. As they were talking, we suddenly heard a terrifying noise from the ward. When I went in, she seemed a bit wrong." Lin Chan finished, then looked angrily at Gu’s grandmother and mother. "What the hell did you say to her?"

"Since Gu En didn’t kill her, do you, a grandmother and a mother, intend to finish the job here?" He Teng pushed Lin Chan aside and marched out.

Upon seeing this, Lin Deng, scared stiff, blocked He Teng inside the ward and hurriedly urged Gu’s grandmother and mother to leave. He was genuinely afraid that, in his current state, He Teng might harm the two elderly women.

He Teng felt relieved he’d brought food for He Zhilan. He bought it on the way back, as he remembered she hadn’t eaten originally. Although he knew Lin Chan would not let her go hungry, he was worried that, after going hungry for a day, she might not be able to eat something as soon as she got hungry today and her stomach would start to hurt. Therefore, he still brought food for her.

Seeing He Zhilan lose control of her emotions like a madwoman, He Teng genuinely wanted to kill Gu’s grandmother and mother, just like Lin Deng had feared.

"Let it go, He Teng, go check if your wife’s hand was scalded," Lin Chan pulled back He Teng, who was about to fight with Lin Deng, into the ward, muttering, "Good thing He Teng came back in time, otherwise nobody could have calmed He Zhilan down just now."
