Then, he quickly changed the subject, mentioning how good the cars in the army were. This made Lin Chan roll his eyes in amusement yet annoyance as he couldn’t tell whether Kang Xing was genuinely praising his car or subtly mocking it.

"If you find the military vehicles so comfortable, why don’t you talk about the thrill of sitting in a military tank? When it’s on the road, you wouldn’t even have to worry about traffic accidents or being hit," Lin Chan retorted, wishing he could kick Kang Xing out of the car. Was he really praising his car or sarcastically belittling it?

"That’s not feasible. The military tanks are meant for battlefields, not the city roads!" Kang Xing retorted, then he ignored Lin Chan and turned to speak with He Zhilan, "Sister-in-law, Ya’nan was looking forward to seeing you at the army after your break. She was thrilled to learn it was time to receive the platoon leader. However, I forgot about your part-time job over the winter break. She will surely be disappointed when she fails to see you."

"Tell her that I will be there before the New Year’s Eve, which is just a few days away." He Zhilan replied with a smile, then turned to look at He Teng, "Kang Xing, I need you to look out for my brother when he returns to the military. The doctor said that he couldn’t start his training immediately. Although his cast has been removed, he should ease into training otherwise it will take a toll on his health. The restaurant was located in the busiest area of the capital. Across from the restaurant was the city’s largest department store - a place Zhilan had visited before.

Upon alighting from the car, Lin Chan led the way into the restaurant, and straight to the office area. After knocking on the door and receiving permission from the person inside, he opened the door and went in.
