Before she could ask further, she heard the voices of Jiang Biyun and her friends coming from the hallway. Immediately, she stood up and said, "Brother, my classmates are here! They’ve arrived really early!"

Before she finished speaking, she rushed out to meet them.

"See, I told you, I know the way. You didn’t believe me," Jiang Biyun bristled at Tan Heqian when she saw Zhilan opening the door. Zhilan caught the undertone and guessed that Tan Heqian must have doubted Jiang Biyun’s direction sense.

"Alright, alright! I was wrong!" Tan Heqian raised his hands in surrender and slipped into the room like an eel.

"Let’s all go in." Seeing Tan Heqian hurry to escape, Zhilan couldn’t help but laugh. With Jiang Biyun’s wit, Tan Heqian had no choice but to admit his mistake.

Lying on the hospital bed, He Teng raised his hand to greet his visitors, "Thanks for coming."

"We are all Zhilan’s best friends, and you are her husband. It’s only right that we visit you in the hospital. There’s no need to say thanks, you’ll make us feel like we are outsiders," Jiang Biyun, the only one to have met He Teng before, replied casually. Unlike Chen Xiting and Tan Heqian who were busy observing He Teng.

"Brother, this is Jiang Biyun, and this is Chen Xiting, my roommates. This is Tan Heqian, my current deskmate. They are all my best friends at school." Zhilan introduced each of her friends to He Teng and then said, "This is my husband, He Teng. As I’ve told you before, he’s a military man."

"How come he doesn’t resemble our Instructor Lin Deng?" Chen Xiting wondered out loud.

"Instructor Lin Deng doesn’t look like a soldier at all when he’s not in uniform. On the other hand, Zhilan’s husband looks very much like a soldier to me," Tan Heqian said, smiling, "I really admire soldiers! When I see Zhilan’s husband, I always think that this is how a soldier should look – even when he is lying in a hospital bed, he has an imposing aura!"

"That’s true!" Chen Xiting nodded in agreement. "Instructor Lin Deng looks more like a wealthy young master when out of uniform! Speaking of which, we ran into Lin Deng at the bus stop today. He was also on his way to the hospital so he gave us a ride here! But he didn’t come upstairs with us, it seems like he’s here to see someone else."

"He knew about your brother’s hospitalization, but he didn’t seem to know that your brother is your husband," Jiang Biyun added.
