Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Warmth 2_1
Wasn’t it because she’s in the He family, spoilt and arrogant, and because Father He was fond of her, that’s why she was constantly stirring things up in the He family?
He Zhilan felt annoyed, sighing inwardly. He Zhongguo was criticizing He Teng, how is that funny? It’s not funny at all!
"Dad, my brother is good to me. Don’t pick on him anymore~" He Zhilan plucked up the courage and said over the phone.
The two men on both ends of the call froze on the spot. Was He Zhilan feeling bad that He Teng was being criticized? So, she, as a wife, was complaining on behalf of her husband?
He Zhongguo contemplated for a moment, becoming even happier. "Alright, alright, I’ll listen to Zhilan. I won’t pick on him anymore. If I persist, Zhilan, feeling bad for her husband, will be mad at me!"
He Zhilan felt a bit embarrassed, she was being teased~
He Teng was also surprised. Just seconds ago, the woman who was giggling non-stop switched her face instantly to speak up for him?
The mind of a woman, truly like a needle at the bottom of the sea, is profound and hard to fathom.
After hanging up, He Teng felt quite good, glancing at the woman in his arms, mmm, he was sure, her mood was great, too.
"Do you feel bad when Dad picks on me?" He Teng asked out of the blue.
He Zhilan was startled, not expecting He Teng to ask such a question. She straightened up, lightly pushing the man behind her, and muttered grumpily, "Who feels bad for you? I feel pity that Dad has to waste his breath on you, a piece of wood who won’t change no matter what is said!"
Huh~" It was a laugh that He Zhilan was very familiar with, along with his meaningful gaze.
"Don’t believe me if you don’t want to!" He Zhilan pouted and scratched her head, feeling somewhat awkward.
He Teng didn’t say anything else. He just reached over, brushed He Zhilan’s hair behind her back, and then led He Zhilan out of the communication room.
He Zhilan was still wondering why since she and He Teng entered the room to make a call, no one had come in. To her surprise, as He Teng opened the door, she saw figures sneaking away.
So it wasn’t because no one came, but rather they all hid outside to eavesdrop!
He Zhilan glanced over at He Teng, wondering whether he had noticed the people outside earlier. He probably didn’t notice, right? Otherwise, how would he dare to act so intimate with her in front of his comrades?
Once they left the communication room, He Teng didn’t make any affectionate gestures towards He Zhilan, but he also didn’t keep a large distance from her. The two stood together, their shoulders touching.
"Do you want to go back to the guesthouse or do you want to take another walk?" When he asked the question, He Teng’s hands moved a bit. He Zhilan thought he was going to hold her hand. Unexpectedly, He Teng only moved his hand a bit and then put it in his pocket, slowing his pace to match hers.
Thinking about He Teng’s day-long training, He Zhilan said she wanted to go back to the guesthouse. She wondered what He Teng’s routine was like when she was not with the military.
In order to match He Zhilan’s pace, He Teng’s walking speed was exceptionally slow. They stroll all the way back to the guesthouse. By the time they reached, it was after eight.
With a click, He Teng, who was walking in the front, entered the room and switched on the light. He then stepped aside to let He Zhilan in, locking the door behind them.
"Brother, what time do you usually go to bed?" He Zhilan asked while changing into her slippers.
"It depends. Sometimes early, sometimes late." Sometimes he even had training at night, but He Teng didn’t tell He Zhilan about it.
He Zhilan simply responded with an "Oh," then grabbed her pajamas and went into the bathroom to change. When she came out, He Teng had already changed his clothes and was lying on the bed. It was just past eight, and He Zhilan usually went to bed after eleven when she was at school. Therefore, she grabbed a book and got on the bed, planning to read for a while before sleeping.
