Chapter 624: You Even Said That You Didn’t Know Martial Arts

Great Xia Settlement. Tower of Gods' Secret Laboratory.

A massive, deep-black machine stood ominously in the center of the secret laboratory of the Tower of Gods. It was about three square meters and stood two meters tall. It almost seemed like a giant beauty treatment device.

Li Xiaofei stared at it uncertainly.

"Are you sure there won’t be any side effects?" asked Li Xiaofei as he turned to look at Liu Diqiu.

But Liu Diqiu’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She looked like a forensic scientist eager to dissect a corpse in search of hidden truths. She nodded repeatedly; she could barely contain her enthusiasm.

She slapped her not-so-impressive chest and declared with absolute confidence, "Relax! I’ve studied this inside and out. There’s absolutely no problem. It’s one hundred percent guaranteed!"

Li Xiaofei hesitated for a moment. Then he turned to the group behind him.

"Who wants to try it first?"

"Boss, let me do it." Li Junjie stepped forward without hesitation and lay down on the black machine that resembled a dental surgery table.

If Boss wanted something done, he'd do it without question, even at the cost of his life.

Zzzzz...

The machine whirred to life. Various mechanical arms and clamps adjusted automatically to Li Junjie’s height and weight, securing him at the limbs and waist before slowly tilting him into a horizontal position.

A helmet covered in neural touch sensors slowly descended over his head. It closely resembled the light core mainframe cockpit from his homeworld.

"Program initiated."

"Parsing brainwave patterns."

"Deciphering DNA..."

"Genetic decoding in progress."

"Uploading blade technique files..."

A series of mechanized synthetic voices rang out in the laboratory. The entire experiment proceeded flawlessly, while Li Junjie showed no signs of discomfort. After ten minutes, the progress bar on the display reached one hundred percent.

Once the machines were done, they withdrew. Li Junjie’s eyes snapped open and he leapt to his feet in one smooth motion.

Li Xiaofei waved his hand.

Whoosh!

A pre-prepared long blade shot toward him like an arrow. Li Junjie caught it effortlessly, his grip steady as iron.

And then, he moved. His blade technique unfolded in an instant, filling the entire laboratory with a chilling light. Blade shadows layered over blade shadows, each brimming with lethal intent. The very air seemed to tremble. It was a perfect example of Heavenly Blade.

It was a devastating blade art that Li Xiaofei had never passed down before due to certain personal reasons. At Liu Diqiu’s request, he had converted the entire Heavenly Blade manual into digital format, along with visual demonstrations.

Now, in less than ten minutes, the entirety of that blade art had been transmitted into Li Junjie’s mind using Eden’s technology. When he displayed it, his mastery over Heavenly Blade was almost on par with Li Xiaofei himself. It was as if he had trained in it for decades.

"How is it?" Liu Diqiu watched Li Xiaofei’s expression closely, her voice filled with nervous anticipation. "Did it work?"

Li Xiaofei nodded. "Judging by his blade technique’s power and proficiency... it looks like it worked."

"Yes!" exclaimed Liu Diqiu, jumping up in excitement.

For a moment, this mysterious girl shed her usual enigmatic demeanor. She wasn’t a calculating genius or a secretive schemer. Right now, she was just a twenty-something girl thrilled by her success. Li Xiaofei still had his suspicions. She’s definitely not a native of this world... There’s something more to her origins. But he had no interest in prying further.

Instead, he had a look of excitement and admiration on his face. This was incredible. He suddenly recalled the classic film The Matrix, particularly the scene where Neo instantly learned martial arts. It had left a deep impression on him back then, and now that fantasy had become reality. As long as the right data existed, they could download and transfer it into the human brain. They would be able to instantly master martial arts, combat techniques, and weapons in mere minutes.

Of course, they couldn’t do the same with internal qi cultivation methods and energy-based techniques. But pure combat skills? That was a different story. They could achieve in ten minutes what others took decades to master.

This was the Ultimate Cheat Code! Of course, there was still more testing to be done to see if there were hidden side effects, or if everyone could achieve the same results. Liu Diqiu and her sister immediately got to work, conducting a full biometric scan on Li Junjie to ensure there were no aftereffects. After a thorough assessment, they confirmed that there were absolutely no side effects.

It was now clear that this technology, retrieved from the Tower of Gods' data archives, was fully mature and one hundred percent safe.

"This is incredible," marveled Liu Diqiu. "Is this what they call divine enlightenment? If this technology spreads, humanity wouldn’t even need to learn anymore. They could just download everything they wanted to know into their brain."

But then, her expression grew serious.

"Eden has had access to this technology for a long time. I’m certain they haven’t just used it for manufacturing Governors. There must be deeper, more terrifying applications... An enemy with technology like this... is beyond dangerous."

Li Xiaofei chose not to respond to that. Instead, he turned to the rest of the group.

"Anyone else want to try?"

"Me!"

"I want to!"

Ximen Piaoxue and Wang Xiaofan stepped forward without hesitation. Both of them had always felt that their talents were average, especially compared to Gu Haochen, who possessed an innate sword physique and had a natural advantage in cultivation and combat skills.

Now that a shortcut had appeared, how could they not seize the opportunity? The two experts entered the machine one after another. As expected, it worked perfectly. Both of them mastered Heavenly Blade within minutes.

Although their comprehension and application of the technique weren’t as flawless as Li Junjie’s, they had still achieved an astounding level of proficiency. In just a short ten minutes, their understanding of blade techniques reached the equivalent of eight to nine years of dedicated training.

Li Xiaofei turned and left. He needed to customize unique battle techniques for each member of his team and convert them into downloadable files for quick mastery. This process wouldn’t take much time.

After all, he had mastered an overwhelming number of martial arts techniques. Each one had been thoroughly understood and deeply ingrained in his being. He had long since refined and organized the different styles into a cohesive system.

Two days later, he had neatly categorized and prepared the martial techniques for each individual. Then, with a quick series of downloads, everyone mastered their assigned techniques.

The only thing missing now was actual combat experience. But there was a problem. There were no longer any enemies on this Earth strong enough to challenge them.

"Looks like it’s time to contact that so-called Eden envoy and find a way to access their teleportation formation."

Li Xiaofei discussed the matter with the group. They took action immediately. Using Zhang Wannian’s old contact details, they tried calling the envoy dozens of times but there was no response.

"Is it possible... that this envoy was killed during your global extermination of the God Warriors?" Liu Diqiu speculated. "After all, Zhang Wannian wasn’t particularly important. The envoy he contacted could’ve just been a stationed God Warrior."

Li Xiaofei nodded. "That makes sense."

In that case, they would head to Mount Hua directly. They would activate the teleportation formation themselves.

"This time. I'm. Going. Alone." Li Xiaofei said firmly, leaving no room for argument. "I’ll scout ahead first. Once I confirm the path is safe, you all can follow."

He was absolutely adamant, so the others had no choice but to agree. However, Liu Diqiu hesitated for a moment before speaking up. "My sister and I should go with you."

"You two?" Li Xiaofei chuckled, unable to hide his amusement. "Two baggage handlers? You’d just slow me down."

Liu Diqiu stomped her foot, visibly irritated. She said, "Don’t underestimate us. My sister and I... are from beyond the sky."

Hmm?

The eyes of the entire group fell on the two sisters. For a moment, the room fell into complete silence. Li Xiaofei’s lips curled into a smirk.

Look at you, Chang Wei. And you even said that you didn’t know martial arts.[1]
