Chapter 3615: The Limit

Chapter 3615: The Limit

The space around Lu Yin was continuously being shattered and destroyed as Emperor Wu’s terrifying destructive power threatened to obliterate everything.

Old Salamander’s schemes and Man Kui’s patience... If either of those ancient powerhouses were to face Emperor Wu in his current state, they would lack the strength to even fight back. The Heaven's Seal sequence base was revealing its power, and its first bite was aimed at Lu Yin.

However, Emperor Wu’s true target was not Lu Yin, but rather the High Seraph.

Boom!

Another terrifying shockwave swept out.

Lu Yin wiped his forehead. He was bleeding, cracks inching along his entire body. Was even Extremes Must Be Reversed unable to endure? In that case, it’s time to release that.

Lu Yin suddenly vanished. He moved with Inverse Step at the speed of time to appear directly in front of Emperor Wu.

The lord of the Primal Beastland’s eyes narrowed. Can he still counterattack? This man’s defense has surpassed my expectations.

Still, the moment would come when Lu Yin finally broke.

Emperor Wu clenched a fist, and the power of Heaven's Seal condensed into a beam of light within his hand, the power continuously compressing. Cracks started to spread across his body, despite being reinforced by his innate gift of Hardening. He was struggling to keep the sequence base restrained.

In front of Emperor Wu, Lu Yin manipulated space while using Linked Palm to borrow some sequence particles from Heaven's Seal. Suddenly, his body recovered, and at that moment, he released all the power that he had accumulated through Extremes Must Be Reversed. In an instant, every single lantern was destroyed.

Emperor Wu spat out a mouthful of blood as he threw a punch.

Lu Yin retaliated with his own fist at the same time.

Boom!

The earth-shaking explosion caused half of the onlookers to lose consciousness as the universe started shattering. Everything near the two combatants was completely annihilated. That ground simply ceased to exist, and shards of rock ripped through space.

If one moved back and looked at the entire Spirit Nidus, they would see a blinding light erupting at the source of the Fu River.

It was followed by a darkness deeper than black. The annihilation looked like it was the origin of darkness.

Quite a bit of time passed before the universe returned to normal.

Everyone was staring with dull faces painted with expressions of disbelief.

Where was Emperor Wu?

Lu Yin alone remained before their eyes, standing in space. Blood dripped from his arm, the bones clearly shattered. Despite his condition, everyone wanted to know at this moment where Emperor Wu was.

The source of the Fu River was completely gone, and the wilderness surrounding it had vanished. All that remained was empty space.

Zhan Ming peered into the distance. Only others at his level had been able to see that Emperor Wu had been sent flying.

Zhan Ming himself could scarcely believe what he had seen. Emperor Wu’s fist had contained so much power that it had seemed unmatched throughout the ages. Never before had Zhan Min witnessed a power that could surpass Emperor Wu’s punch.

The power made possible with Heaven's Seal surpassed the imagination.

Even a legendary Immortal might not be able to exceed the unbelievable power granted by the sequence base.

Despite that, Emperor Wu had still been sent flying by Lu Yin’s fist. How was that even possible?

No one could believe it.

Even Old Salamander, watching the battle from hiding, could not believe the outcome. He had instigated the fight between Emperor Wu and Lu Yin not because Old Salamander had believed Lu Yin could actually defeat Emperor Wu, but rather because the old monster had wanted to force Emperor Wu to reveal his full power without using Heaven's Seal, all so that Old Salamander could see the truth for himself. As for the sequence base, Old Salamander had his own means of dealing with such a thing.

However, never in his wildest imagination had he considered the possibility of Lu Yin surpassing Emperor Wu’s strength when he used Heaven's Seal. It should have never happened, as it was simply impossible.

If anyone in the Spirit Nidus was capable of overpowering Emperor Wu at this very moment, it should only be the High Seraph. No matter how unfathomable Seraph Lu might appear to be, he had to have his limits. He had just been overpowered by Emperor Wu, causing everyone to believe they were seeing the human’s limits. However, the latest exchange left everyone completely dumbfounded; did Lu Yin even have any limits?

Or was it possible that the High Seraph alone was truly capable of fighting the foreign Seraph?

Emperor Wu was not overwhelming Lu Yin, but rater fighting him as an equal.

At this moment, countless people’s assumptions started to change; was the High Seraph really capable of defeating Seraph Lu?

Lu Yin glanced at his right arm, which was completely shattered, though it was already recovering. After all, he had only suffered a physical wound.

His last punch was the strongest that he had ever thrown. Natural Art had not only enhanced his own power, but also weakened Emperor Wu. In addition to that, Lu Yin had borrowed sequence particles from Heaven's Seal and also released all the power that he had built up through Extremes Must Be Reversed. Only by combining everything had Lu Yin unleashed such a powerful attack.

The punch carried not just Lu Yin’s own power, but also a bit of the power from Heaven's Seal and even some of Emperor Wu’s force.

If Lu Yin had been facing anyone other than Emperor Wu, it would have been impossible to release such a powerful attack.

Emperor Wu had not only lost to Lu Yin, but also to his own power and to his sequence base.

Emperor Wu had to be in a terrible condition at this moment.

He finally reappeared, far in the distance. Just like Lu Yin, Emperor Wu’s right arm was shattered. However, more than that, half of his neck had also been destroyed.

Upon seeing Emperor Wu’s wretched condition, the onlookers fell silent.

Not even Hu Wu and Tian Ya had expected Lu Yin to unleash such power. He had actually overwhelmed Emperor Wu.

In the darkness of outer space, Emperor Wu and Lu Yin faced each other.

Hardening was still reinforcing Emperor Wu’s body, but his sequence base had been exposed.

With Lu Yin’s last punch, when Emperor Wu had been weakened by Natural Art, he had been unable to retain control of the Heaven's Seal sequence base.

Even though Emperor Wu had no eyes, everyone could see his disbelief. Who in the entire Spirit Nidus could have ever imagined that Lu Yin could overcome such incredible power?

"You've reached your limit," Lu Yin calmly stated as his arm continued to heal.

Emperor Wu replied in a low voice, "So have you."

Lu Yin arched a brow. "Are you sure?"

"No power can be used without limits. You may have succeeded in weakening me once, but you won’t be able to do so a second time. On the other hand, my strength can be wielded indefinitely. Heaven's Seal’s sequence particles are as vast as an abyss," Emperor Wu declared with absolute certainty.

A confident smile slowly spread across Lu Yin's face. "What if I can?"

"Even if you can succeed a second time, there won’t be a third."

"That’s enough. No matter how many times I can do it, the next time might be enough to crush you." Lu Yin’s arm had already fully recovered, and he flexed his fingers as he spoke in a casual tone.

"You can’t," Emperor Wu replied. "You forget; the aspect in which I am truly peerless is my defense."

As he spoke, boundless sequence particles appeared all across Emperor Wu’s body. These did not come from the sequence base, but rather from Emperor Wu himself.

He had cultivated the same sequence technique as Golden Roc. It was the seventh-ranked sequence technique, Treasureform. However, Emperor Wu possessed far, far more sequence particles than Golden Roc, to the point where the two were not even comparable.

Endless sequence particles enveloped his entire body, which had been reinforced by his innate gift, Hardening. Emperor Wu’s natural defenses were already formidable, to the point where even Astral Anura’s most desperate attack had failed to injure Emperor Wu.

People stared in awe at the three layers of defenses that protected Emperor Wu. This was the defensive technique that he took great pride in.

His Hardening innate gift once again suppressed Heaven's Seal, and those sequence particles reappeared. Emperor Wu clenched a fist around a condensing beam of light. "Come! Let’s see if I can crush you first, or if you will manage to crush me!"

Peerless strength surged out once more. Lanterns reappeared around Emperor Wu, only for them to start being destroyed, one after another. The scene that had become all-too-familiar was repeating yet again.

Lu Yin was struck again and again. His body withered and recovered repeatedly, each time accumulating more power before it could be unleashed. Whenever the built-up power was released, the resulting attack was capable of sending Emperor Wu flying. However, Emperor Wu had already brought out his full defenses. He was not underestimating Lu Yin at all.

Emperor Wu had initially believed that just his overwhelming power would be enough to defeat Lu Yin. However, he had since realized that he had severely underestimated his opponent.

With his full defenses activated, Emperor Wu was truly like a sourcebox, a relic sealed by the universe for countless years, becoming impossible to break open.

The first time Lu Yin released his most powerful punch, he had succeeded in shattering half of Emperor Wu’s body. For their second clash, Lu Yin failed to even break through Emperor Wu’s Treasureform sequence particles.

Just as Emperor Wu had claimed, his defenses made him invulnerable. Who could overcome them?

Spectators felt their scalps go numb. How could anyone fight against such a monster? Emperor Wu possessed impenetrable defenses, yet his physical strength was also unmatched. He had never cultivated anything else; he possessed no spiritual force, no consciousness, and no comprehension techniques. Nothing.

Even so, the two abilities that he did have were enough on their own to make Emperor Wu invincible.

Far away, Yi Shang grew bitter as he watched. If Emperor Wu had used the Heaven's Seal sequence base all those years ago, the three Seraphs would have lost, even when cooperating.

Emperor Wu had not emerged victorious because the Seven Seraphs were not allowed to lose. That was the reason for the draw.

In retrospect, it was clear that Emperor Wu had held back a great deal of his power during that battle.

Zhan Ming, Meng Sang, Jiu Xian, and the other Seraphs were also watching the battle. Emperor Wu had displayed overwhelming strength, which none of the Seraphs could see any way to overcome. At the very least, none of them could think of a method right away.

Whenever a power or ability reached the pinnacle, it would become completely absurd.

In contrast to Emperor Wu, Lu Yin was only occasionally able to gain the upper hand with a single punch, but that was pointless if even Lu Yin’s full-powered punch was unable to breach Emperor Wu’s defenses. All of Lu Yin’s efforts were meaningless.

Each time Lu Yin attack, Emperor Wu was sent flying, but he simply returned, unscathed. After that, Emperor Wu would overwhelm Lu Yin with one punch after another. While Emperor Wu was still coughing up blood due to the backlash of suppressing Heaven's Seal, what of it? He could endure that much. How much longer could Seraph Lu hold out for? He could not use his battle technique indefinitely.

Bang!

Another punch was thrown.

Already, the battle had lasted for two days. The entire battle consisted of the same scene repeating over and over. Everyone was feeling both amazed and exhausted. Even after so long, no one could say who would ultimately prevail.

Even Emperor Wu was dumbfounded. He had assumed that Lu Yin was only capable of using Natural Art a few times at best, but Lu Yin had showed no hint of being unable to continue using the technique. No matter how many counterattacks occurred, Lu Yin’s power showed no sign of waning. Even Emperor Wu’s Treasureform was starting to show some cracks.

While his defenses were without equal and not even Lu Yin’s strongest attack could overcome them, Lu Yin simply intended to attack repeatedly.

As for Natural Art, Lu Yin had a star of divine energy. During the Everstone Discourse, True God had even replenished the star for Lu Yin. Forget a few uses—Lu Yin could use Natural Art dozens or even hundreds of times.

Cracks continued to spread across Treasureform. Emperor Wu started to suffer internal injuries from Natural Art, as well as the backlash that he was suffering from restraining Heaven's Seal.

Only on the third day did Emperor Wu finally begin showing signs of falling to a disadvantage.

Lu Yin threw another punch, and Treasureform shattered. While Emperor Wu’s innate gift of Hardening still blocked the punch, a few more punches would be enough to finish him off.

“How many times? Let’s see how many more your defenses can take. Let’s see how much longer you can continue to suppress that sequence base!” Lu Yin kicked Emperor Wu away. Emperor Wu was actually unable to instantly counter Lu Yin’s attack and was completely overwhelmed by Lu Yin this time.

Everyone watching was left stunned.

The power that Emperor Wu had displayed had been beyond anything anyone had ever imagined, and yet Lu Yin had managed to push Emperor Wu this far. It was impossible to believe.

Emperor Wu coughed up blood as he looked around at the red lanterns. Seeing each one carry his name stung his eyes.

If not for this particular battle technique, he would have never been reduced to such a state. He spun around, swinging his serrated blade across. However, Lu Yin moved just a bit faster, and he grabbed a hold of Emperor Wu’s arm. There was a sickening crack as the bone snapped, and the serrated blade fell. Emperor Wu once again drew upon Heaven's Seal and used the sequence base to release a fierce wave that sent Lu Yin flying. Even as Lu Yin was thrown back, he was met by Emperor Wu’s fist, and Lu Yin was knocked downwards. Still, Emperor Wu did not fare well himself, as his innate gift continued to fall apart.

Suddenly, Lu Yin appeared above Emperor Wu, and he swung down with a single hand.

There was a thud as Emperor Wu dropped down. Blood spilled from his forehead, looking like a second red line had been painted across his face.

Lu Yin’s palm fell again, and the overwhelming force twisted Emperor Wu’s head to the side.
