Talia woke up pretty late that morning and Arthur was already out for his morning jog. She’s been begging him to let her off from her morning exercises these past few days. He insisted not to let her off, but she used all the tricks in her book to convince him.

Since he is not back yet, Talia decided to check for pregnancy. She didn’t have any symptoms, but she had a feeling she was pregnant. Her lower abdomen was feeling weird and ... she just had a feeling and wanted to confirm her pregnancy.

She had already decided to embroider ’Dad to be’ in one of his kerchiefs to announce her pregnancy in a cute way to him.

Since she wanted to surprise Arthur with the result, she decided to use another bathroom to keep the pregnancy strip hidden. So out of all the bathrooms in Oakley Castle, she chose a random bathroom.

She didn’t talk about her ’instinct’ to anyone else, especially the elders since she didn’t want to give them false hope. Only Sir Robert knew of her intuition. She wanted to tell them the good news after confirming it.

After following the steps, she placed the strip on the countertop. She had to wait for five minutes to know the results. And those five minutes seemed like an eternity for her and she paced to and fro inside the bathroom. Maybe because of the stress, she felt her tummy rumbling and she was about to sit on the toilet when she heard someone trying to open the door.

In this whole world, there would be one person brave and brazen enough to do that.

Her husband!

"Fred! I am using the bathroom. Leave!" she shouted gritting her teeth.

"Let me in!" he banged the door and she rolled her eyes. Does he think I am vacationing in here?

"Iris!! Are you po*ping?"

He shouted and Talia knew this guy will not stop until he lets the whole castle hear. She got embarrassed.

Is he doing it on purpose?

"Idiot!" she opened the door and he came in with a victorious grin.

"You were not po*ping? So why did you take long to open the door?" he asked and Talia stomped on his feet.

"Oww! Iris! Why?" he held his foot and hopped.

"What are you doing here?" she asked. By now she had forgotten about the test strip.

"You weren’t in the bathroom!" he pouted, still holding his feet. He even blew on it like a little kid. Talia felt a little pitiful for him.

"And?"

"I knew this is your time for po*ping and so I checked every bathroom and found you here. Why are you in this bathroom?" he asked and Talia hit her forehead with her palm.

She didn’t know her bowel movement has a schedule!

"Should I be surprised that I have a scheduled bowel movement or that you know that schedule?" she sighed.

"Tell me, why didn’t you use our bathroom? Did you fear stinking up...Oww...oww...Iris, stop twisting my ear!"

"Will you die if you shut up?" she chuckled. "I have no idea what I saw in you to marry you. You are a bloody elementary boy in your heart!"

"Elementary schoolboy?" he wrapped her around her waist and lifted her up.

"Can a boy do this?" he wriggled his brows.

"Let me down," she patted his shoulders.

"Are you already bored with me?" he carried her to the countertop and placed her on it. "I cannot let you," he gently bit her lips and started kissing her.

Talia wrapped her hands around his neck and got immersed in his kisses. His kisses give her the same feeling as their first kiss.

His hand slipped inside her clothes and she tried to push him back, but he got closer. In that little scuffle, something dropped on the floor and Talia’s eyes widened seeing the strip on the floor.

"What is that?" Arthur bent and picked up the stick. Talia checked the time and it was already seven minutes.

"Iris? What does this mean C and T..." he knitted his brows and Talia giggled seeing him holding it exactly where he should not be holding that stick.

Her heart beat quickened and she took in a deep breath. She took a peek and saw the two beautiful lines and she let out a deep breath.

Yes! Finally!

"...two pink lines...What-"

He said and Talia hugged him. Unknowingly, she started tearing up and Arthur was startled.

"Iris, what is it?" he dropped the stick and tried to hold her cheek and he pushed his hand away.

"Wash your hand," she said and he looked at her weirdly.

Talia couldn’t help but grin and she was crying out of joy, but Arthur was confused.

"Iris, what is it? What?"

"Fred... I’m with child," she said controlling her tears and he froze for a moment.

He had a gut feeling. If he knew her bowel movements, of course, he will know about her menstrual cycle. And these past few days she restrained from doing any heavy work, He had a doubt and that’s why he was keeping an eye on her all the time, but when she said it, he couldn’t believe it.

"Fred! You’re going to become a father! I am going to become a mother! There is another little life growing inside me!"

Talia shouted and her tears didn’t stop.

"Iris..." Arthur hugged her. "Thank you!"

Lifting her up, he ran outside.

"Grandpa! Sebastian! Mrs. Grey! Sir Robert!" He shouted running along the hallways.

"Let me down, Fred. Don’t drop me!" Talia held on to his neck and realising she should be handled with care, he slowed down.

"WE’RE PREGNANT!"

He shouted standing at the top of the stairs and all the staff paused their work and started cheering and congratulating. Talia saw Sir Robert with a big smile on his face and Talia nodded at him. She wanted to inform her family herself and he seemed to have understood her intentions.

He then called Roderick first to inform not even listening to her when she said he should call his father first. As she tried to find her grandpa and seeing him running towards her, she ran to him and held him.

"MaryAnn, Is it true?" he asked and Talia nodded. "Ah, dear child..." he hugged her and Talia rubbed his back as he got emotional. She looked at Sebastian with his reddened eyes and Mrs. Grey was wiping the corners of her eyes.

Yes, the arrival of a child is a joyous occasion!

Arthur informed his father, and he came running to their house in his PJs. Talia informed her family in Rosandale and her great-grandma was torn between wanting to see her and ask her to take a rest.

In the end, she decided to let her great-granddaughter rest for a while before meeting her. Louis was over the moon and Lambert made some crude jokes with Arthur. Talia’s eardrum almost burst to hear Rebecca’s screech when she informed her. Everyone was happy.

But there was an unexpected surprise waiting for them...
