Chapter 463: Befriending A Wild Bear

"Fred, is that a bear?" Talia scratched Arthur’s chest pointing through the small window in the room.

"Fred! Get up!" she pulled his chest-hair and he woke up screaming.

"I’m going to kill you, Iris..." he pinched her waist.

"Ah!" she rubbed where he pinched. "It looks like a bear... I think it is crying... Fred, look," she pointed.

"Crying?" Arthur chuckled and pulled her close. He turned to his side and made sure the shotgun is locked and loaded.

They are currently in a private ski resort to spend their honeymoon. They didn’t have to cook or clean since they have a keeper, but he cooks her dinner each night and she’d take care of the desserts.

Arthur has been trying to teach her to ski for the past two days.

Yes, he’s been trying to get her out of the cabin. But this one refuses to wear clothes and snuggles up in the warm bed all day and night.

Okay...the truth is, he is the one not letting her out.

No matter how many times they do ’it’, it never feels enough for him. When she calls him ’hubby’ or ’Freddy bear’... When he sees her bare waist, chest, legs, or even the nape of her neck... He gets excited.

And protection..? The only protection he uses is the weapons he has for the surprise visits of the bears and other wild animals.

Maybe this is what honeymoon is, like she said. Relaxing in the bed, enjoying each other’s company without caring about anything, and doing what they want, anytime they want.

Or maybe it means going out and doing different things together to get an idea about what we like?

"Iris, you want to go skiing?" he asked resting his chin on her shoulder. He was careful not to put marks on her body, but he could see some.

"You think I can?" she asked and he pulled her up.

"Let’s try, shall we?"

After making sure she is dressed warmly, both of them left the cabin for the first time since they came here.

"Come on, this way... we should get our-"

"Fred, that bear is still here..." she pointed and started running.

"Iris! Wait, stupid!" he didn’t know what to do with this very unpredictable woman.

He looked around and saw some men in uniforms at the distance and sighed in relief. They’d be the only ones who’d be honeymooning with ten other people.

But, hey! It is necessary!

Talia ran towards the bear and she slowed down as the bear stayed at the exact spot. It was grunting and Talia heard another soft cooing voice.

There is a baby bear?

She turned to look at Arthur and he nodded understanding what she meant. They slowly got closer and the bear didn’t move and started to pace around a small hole as if it was saying something.

Talia could see her guards descending from around her and they will shoot the bear even if the bear makes a small movement towards her. For the sake of the bear, she decided to stay back.

When they checked, there actually was a bear cub that got entangled in a vine. They released it and both the bear and the cub went their merry way.

"That’s some story for us to tell," Talia raised her brows.

"Yeah, if you got two feet closer to the bear," Arthur chuckled.

"But we did..."

After that, they did try to ski and Talia got slapped in the face with the reality.

She is not athletic!

Arthur the very patient(!) guy tried to teach her, but she failed miserably. She did make butterflies on the snow.

So they went dog-sledding that day. Talia was a little apprehensive of letting those cute little dogs do heavy-lifting, but the dogs seemed to have more energy and enthusiasm than she gave credit for.

They went for an hour-long tour and Talia started snapping pictures of every creature she saw.

They returned to their cabin and both of them were very tired. So after dinner, they went straight to bed.

In the middle of the night, Talia woke up and nuzzled in his chest. And that was enough for that guy to get excited. Talia, in fact, didn’t mind. She was more than happy to see how much he wants her.

They made love, just to show how much they loved each other and for nothing else. Although they didn’t use protection, they weren’t thinking about babies. They felt free and did what they felt like.

The next day, they saw the same bear with the cub there and Talia got an idea. Taking a can of tuna, she slowly got closer to the bear. She wanted to touch the cub. So like a smart person, she first tried to gain the mother’s trust.

It took some time for the bear to get close to her, but she was willing to wait.

A couple of days later, both the bear and the cub were more friendly with Talia.

"Bow to me peasant for I am the Princess who tamed a wild bear!" Talia proclaimed as she petted the bear cub.

Arthur with a smile was taking pictures and sent them to their family members.

"Iris, take a picture of me with the big bear. Make me look fearsome and majestic," Arthur gave her orders and Talia took his order.

"As you wish, Your Gingerness!"

And so that entire day, both of them followed around the bear to take pictures of themselves with the bear. Talia liked one of the selfies they took with the two bears and decided to frame it for their bedroom.

Not even using all the facilities of the ski resort, their ten days honeymoon came to an end.

"I am glad you arranged this, Fred," Talia leaned on his chest as they returned in the private jet.

"I am glad I get to spend this much time with you, Iris..." he rubbed her back.

Although they were happy to return to their routine life, they felt a little sad for leaving that carefree life behind.

Talia returned to Rosandlae and Arthur stayed in Esteria for the weekdays. They posted the selfie with the bears as they announced their return from their honeymoon and the internet exploded with wishes.

Of course, some people advised not to have a long-distance relationship as it is not good and others advised other things.

It was surprising for Talia to see the liberty they take on commenting on her married life, but most of the comments came from a place of love, making her forgive them. So say nasty stuff just for the sake of it and there is no need for talking about them.

More than a month passed and the Palace decided to announce the title change of Lambert. Talia’s people got on high alert to be careful wither PR since they knew Talia will be blamed for this.

As expected, Talia was blamed by some. Some even misquoted Lambert’s past sarcastic remarks about Talia and said that those two never have gotten along.

Talia’s side didn’t refute any claims and kept silent.
