"You...You believed that jealous guy wearing the crown as a prop? He’s just salty that his hypocrite son won’t be able to have a piece of the Brunton wealth if we marry. I remember him joking around when I was very young that I should become the next Queen Consort. He probably wasn’t joking. Hmpf! Let’s not talk about him! " Talia’s lively eyes dissing the King of Esteria turned sombre as she looked at him.

" Fred... You’re...splendiferous! You thought YOU are not suitable for me? Me? A very heavy baggage to handle?" Talia really was honest when she said that. Compared to him, where is she better?

Arthur chuckled shaking his head. As usual, she never accepts her greatness. She always is ready to accept her faults, but not her strengths.

She, by her own admission, brought a big scandal involving the Duke of Luxxenshire to light. How is that not impressive? Rather than supporting charities, she is supporting the King himself in helping his people. How amazing is she?

But she is not going to think of it as a big deal, is she?

Talia watched him chuckling and curled her lips.

What is he laughing about?

"King Titus...He knew we were legally married when I dated others, didn’t he?" Talia almost dropped her fork as she realised why Arthur brought up her dating other men in the past. "He threatened to release that detail to save his son?"

Arthur nodded with a sigh. That old guy wound him up and he released his anger on her...on his beloved Iris.

Dimwit!

Talia could now understand why he spoke confusing words to her. This short-tempered redhead, got agitated after speaking to the King, but he couldn’t speak against him. And seeing the article about Walter and her, he released his anger on her.

She didn’t want to dwell on it anymore. He is a short-tempered person and this won’t be the last time he’d flare up at her like this. He will try to think twice before talking to her, and try his best not to hurt her with his words in the future, but she knew it would do her good, if she sets her mind, understanding his flaw.

After seeing his very sorry face and his sincere apology, she wanted to believe that he wouldn’t get angry at her. But she decided to not take it to heart if he gets angry in the future, since he wouldn’t mean it most of the times. After all, she knew in her heart how much he loved her. He will feel bad after realising he got angry at her for no reason and he will apologise.

And what else can she do? Leave him for this stupid reason? Never!

Talia changed the topic and they talked about a lot of things. Talia learnt that Arthur’s mother’s birthday is coming soon and his family usually has dinner together that night.

After dinner, Arthur turned on some music and asked her for a dance.

With her hands wrapped in his big hand, Talia leaned on his shoulder and danced. One song ended and another started. More than the soulful voice of the singer, Talia found her man’s voice more enticing.

"I found a love... For me... Darling just dive right in, and follow my lead..."

Talia lifted her face and looked at him in the face. He had a very pleasant smile on his face and his eyes searched for her smile as he made his thoughts clear with the song.

"We were just kids when we fell in love

Not knowing what it was

The lyrics went on and Talia realised this song suits for them very well. She didn’t think much of this song before, other than liking it. Come to think of it, she first heard this song when Rebecca and Joe were rehearsing for their first dance. This song was as Rebecca put it ’their song’.

But hearing Fred singing that song to her, Talia started to love this song. It was as if the lifeless words in the lyrics of that song, came to life and dancing around her heart, lifting her spirit.

Sorry Rebecca, this is going to be our song.

Locking her eyes with the man with his slightly misted eyes, singing the song flawlessly, she felt like her heart was stuffed with happiness.

The overwhelmingly mesmerising scent of the man holding her, the gentle swaying, the raw and emotion-filled voice of the man, made her feel delighted to the brim. She felt like she’d explode of happiness.

Talia stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. " I’m the one who don’t deserve you "

Arthur placed a small kiss on her forehead. Does she realise? A stupid person like him won’t be able to maintain a relationship with his temper? Who else can handle him better than her?

Only she could take him to the extremes.

" No, Iris... We both deserve each other. We are lucky we found each other. If only you didn’t enter the wrong hall and took the entrance examination for high school, we won’t be here, now." Arthur whispered in her ears, pressing his cheek on hers. The music still played in the background and both of them were still dancing.

Talia thought about it. Both of them.... They sure can’t find anyone else more suitable than the other in this life.

Is this ’true love’? Did I find my soul-mate? How lucky am I?

"Yes," Talia smiled. "We do deserve each other. But it was you who took the first step, Fred. If only you didn’t cross the creek that day and meet me, I wouldn’t have considered talking to you after I met you in high school."

"Yes," Arthur agreed. She had that familiar smile on her when they met again in high school. "I crossed the creek to find a ’monster’ but I found the love of my life. The single best thing that happened to me, started as a dare by Ray. I’m glad I accepted the dare and acted on my instinct to cross the creek that day," he paused his steps and looked at her eyes, now glistening with tears.

" And you waited for me ten long years, " Talia couldn’t help bit mention that.

" Finally, I have you for me, me alone. " Arthur picked Talia up wrapping his hand around her waist and kissed her with passion. Talia drowning in his passion, wrapped her hands around his neck considering it a raft.

Without letting her down, Arthur carried her through the stairs to the bedroom, while kissing her.

Her fingers started opening his shirt buttons one by one and before they reached the bedroom, his shirt was thrown at the floor.

"My little nymph," Arthur chucked and bit her lower lips slightly making her hiss and she wrapped her legs around his waist and clung on to him.

Arthur pressed her at the wall near the bedroom door and his kisses increased in intensity as his hands wandered around her body.

Soon the second floor echoed the moans of a woman and little grunts of a man as they tangled together.

Talia’s phone left at the table vibrated with an incoming call, from a person Talia dreaded to receive a call.

C.Lockhart.

"It’s late, Cyril. Just send her the message. And tell her to make it quick," Lord Lockhart leaned at the back of his chair and Cyril standing on front of him, nodded.

In the mansion by the sea, the bedroom door locked with a bang as the lovers wanted their privacy and on Talia’s phone came a message notification.
