Chapter 221: Leaving For Rosandale

"Did you see that, Mr. Ed?" with a wide grin and her chin up, Talia asked Mr. Ed as they were in the elevator.

"See what, Your Highness?" Mr. Ed asked with his hands clamped to the front and he was standing upright as usual. Seeing his Princess happy like that, warmed his heart.

"I solved the dispute between the couple!" Talia held her cheeks. "Did you see how happy they were when they left? Maybe this is my innate talent." Her grin widened.

"What is, Your Highness?" Mr. Ed controlled his laughter and asked. At times his Princess does acts silly. She should be in a very good mood today.

"What do you mean what? I have a very deep affinity to learn the inner thoughts of others and find the solution to their troubles. Especially romantic troubles. Maybe I should start a TV show where I will bring couples and solve their misunderstandings - Dr. Talia! How does that sound? " she looked at Mr. Ed and seeing him still with a serious expression, she pouted. But still she didn’t stop. " That name does not sound very catchy... How about The Talia Brunton Show? Or... Dr. Princess! How about it? Dr. Princess. That sounds catchy enough. Maybe I should..." Talia continued until Mr. Ed couldn’t hold his laughter and ended up laughing.

"Don’t laugh, Sir Robert!" Talia was embarrassed. She really was a bit overjoyed as she saw Archie and Marcia leaving together. They seemed to be really happy. First it was Rebecca and Joe and now them... She felt like she has good luck in joining couples; like a cupid, maybe?

" Yes, Your Highness. I will not laugh. I’m surprised that you consider the title of ’Doctor’ is better than that of ’Princess’ and put it first. If it were me, I would have said ’Princess Doctor’ " he said as they walked to her apartment.

Seeing Mr. Ed controlling his laughter immediately, Talia was surprised.

Is this part of his training too? To not laugh and control his laughter?

" ’Doctor’ is more precious and valuable that ’Princess’, of course Mr. Ed," Talia added. "Anyone who is born out of Royal blood will have a title conferred on them. But to become a Doctor, you have to work hard. So it is better," Talia shrugged.

Mr. Ed watched her calmly. She is right. The Princess has learnt a lot living in a Liberal nation although she grew up in a country with class system and aristocracy.

King Louis in a way is like the Princess too. The next generation, they are slowly coming out of the old traditions and customs and forging a new world for themselves combining traditions and modernity.

But still... Not everyone has the chance to be born as a Royal, do they? If the Royals are treated as everyone else, how will that impact the nation?

Mr. Ed still couldn’t get out of his mentality.

Talia entered her apartment reluctantly, fearing she might witness something she wouldn’t want to see. But to her relief, she was delighted as she saw Joe and Rebecca sleeping on the couch.

Rebecca, sitting at the wall end of the sofa was sleeping resting her head on the wall. Her hands were on Joe’s head and it seemed like she had fallen asleep caressing his hair. Joe was sleeping comfortably, lying on her lap.

The grim silence in the car, made Sophia highly uncomfortable. There was extreme silence in the car and she wondered how well the noise cancelling effects in these luxury car is. She couldn’t even hear or feel the engine noise, much less the noise from the traffic outside.

She tried to tighten the bolero jacket she was wearing. The flimsy shirt dress she was wearing had a couple of buttons popped and she felt cold although she was inside. She didn’t know whether it was the temperature inside or the coldness emitting from the man sitting beside her.

She wanted to give herself a hard slap. What was she thinking? Why did she find Jordan attractive for a moment? She even... Ugh! Barf!

"Thank you, Arthur. I don’t know what would have happened if you didn’t come there at the right time. Jordan... He..." Her throat closed as tears clouded her vision. "Thank you for believing me." she was sure of this.

Or else why would she receive this special treatment? He fired Jordan without even questioning. Arthur absolutely believed her. And now she can make the McAllisters go against Arthur and she could gain more sympathy points.

"I too am glad I was there," Arthur said without even turning to look at her. His hand holding his phone stiffened and he wanted to break his phone on her head. He just went through the security footage sent to him.

She came onto Jordan. Inside the car and outside. Jordan pushed her away very clearly. And still she could lie this perfectly. What a lying b*tch she is!

Arthur wanted to punch Jordan. How could he not be careful? How could he be this vulnerable letting her throw such accusations? This is not his first rodeo and she is not the first woman who tried this on him.! Idiot!

"What is Olivia doing these days?" he asked. He always found something is missing. The guy who got captured is still kept by Lord Lockhart and even Cyril isn’t privy to what he said. And Jared Cooper, the guy who got arrested fell ill with an odd virus and died in the prison hospital.

Arthur still thought that the danger around Talia is not entirely removed. He had a feeling that there is still someone left.

Sophia looked at him with her misted eyes. Her heart was in pain and she really didn’t want to let Arthur slip from her hands. He is the one she loved and she is his lucky charm. She was sure of it. "I... I didn’t meet her these days. I... I was crying, locked in my room. Arthur, will you consider-"

"Keep what happened tonight a secret between us. I’ll deal with this," Arthur spoke in a warning tone and opened the door for her as the car stopped.

With a big smile Sophia got down from the car.

He opened the door for me! Why?

Of course! Of course he had to. He cannot let others know that his assistant did a despicable thing to his fiancee. And he will try to hide it and for that he will cajole me. I can have him under my thumb using this. How awesome!

Not knowing that she herself has betrayed her narrative by the wide smile on her face, Sophia walked into her home with a skip in her step.

Arthur walked back in the car not before ordering the chauffeur to fumigate the interior of the car. This would be the last time he’d let another woman inside his car.

After saying farewell to the sobbing Rebecca, Talia left her with Joe and left for her flight back to Rosandale. She left that big bear at the penthouse of her apartment building where Joe is staying for now. It seemed like Joe had a liking to that life-like bear and he said he’d take good care of it until Arthur wants it.

Lying down on the comfortable bed she had in her private cabin of the first class seat, Talia closed her eyes. She’s leaving everything she got used to, and is going to a place where she didn’t know much of.

When she left Rosandale for her studies, she didn’t feel much. She just wanted to improve herself and wanted to prove everyone she is better off without them. But now... She is returning.

Returning to family.... The very people she thought she didn’t need, she is going to them now.

She is not losing out on anything. She gained a lot of things in this country. A good education, a very good experience managing a company and living alone on her own, and most importantly she got herself a very amazing and kind friend.

She struggled a lot and found herself living here. And now with her heart full, she is flying towards her next adventure.

Grandpa will be there tomorrow too!

Talia slowly closed her eyes and she fell asleep hugging the blanket she brought with herself.
