Stand By Me Darling
Chapter 189: Confiding In a Friend

Chapter 189: Confiding In a Friend

When he got inside her, she felt a slight pain for sometime. The pain wasn’t too much and she knew it comes with the first time and so she didn’t mind much.

Arthur was hugging her around her neck and she could hear his heavy breath and low grunts by her ear. She let him do what he wanted. He was doing it slowly at first and as with each pump he went deeper and deeper. She felt a bit uncomfortable and wasn’t much excited at all.

Then the frequency of his hip movements intensified and he started kissing her and that’s when her discomfort disappeared and she started to feel good. And before she knew it, it all ended and that’s why she said what she said.

"Fred," she called him and was stupefied when he didn’t look at her. She felt like her heart sinking as if an anvil got tied to it and got thrown into an ocean.

Is he mad? Is it something I did?

She was confused. Her hand about to touch his arm paused.

"Mmm, what?" he asked after a while and his voice was so low Talia felt a cold shiver.

"You..." okay? She wanted to ask, but her throat felt heavy. She took a gulp. "Are you going to use the bathroom?"

"You go first," he said and he still wasn’t looking at her.

Talia felt empty;really empty and her eyes clouded. She felt like a sudden rift appeared between them emotionally.

She scooted down from the bed and wrapping herself in the bathrobe on the floor, walked out of the room. As she walked, she tried to look at Fred, but as if he noticed her, he buried his face in his pillow and didn’t look at her.

Talia closed the door carefully and walked to the living room. Her heart was so troubled and she didn’t know what to do. For some reason, Arthur felt scary to her and she didn’t have the guts to talk to him.

As she was in her thoughts, she heard a vibrating noise and when she looked at the coffee table, it was her phone ringing. She walked to the table and it was Rebecca.

Seeing that name, Talia felt a little hope budding in her turbulent heart. She picked her phone and ran to the bathroom, locking it and answered the call.

"Hey Tallie... You are awake?" Rebecca sounded surprised.

"I’m actually dead... Hello from hell!" Talia rolled her eyes.

Would I answer the call if I’m not awake?

"Ha! Being sarcastic? Tallie... Is that really you?" Rebecca was double surprised.

"I’m sorry," Talia immediately apologised. She was grumpy and she showed it at Rebecca just now.

"For what? Making headlines with my husband dancing to our wedding song?" Rebecca asked and Talia felt her stomach churning. She really didn’t know what song she actually danced with Joe. Both of them were seriously discussing about Rebecca.

What a blunder!

" Hello? " Rebecca’s voice came from the other end, followed by her laughter. "Idiot! You don’t even remember the song you were dancing to? Haha... You weren’t dancing for our wedding song and even then I wouldn’t have doubted you. In that picture, you looked displeased and he looked embarrassed... Hahaha... I know you two. How would I trust something written by some airhead?"

" You read Joe’s letter? " Talia asked. When she mentioned Joe, she didn’t seem that angry or sad as before. Guess that letter did have some heartfelt words from Joe.

" Hmm, " Rebecca sighed. " He wants to have a talk... That letter... Ugh! I hate myself for getting swayed so easily like this! Ugh! Tallie! I’m ashamed! That scumbag actually knows how to pull my heartstrings... "

Rebecca went on as usual and Talia smiled. If it makes Rebecca happy, anything is fine, right?

"... We’re having a meeting this evening at a coffee shop and I want you there. I’m not going to speak with him alone. I don’t want to get back with him easily..." Rebecca went on and Talia could only sigh.

Why am I getting involved again?

"What are you doing being awake for this long?" Rebecca asked sensing no response from Talia for some time.

"I... popped my cherry tonight. Congratulate me." Talia tried to be cheerful but remembering Arthur’s reaction, her heart felt heavy and so her voice get low.

"Ah! Finally! You’re a woman now! Yay!" Rebecca clapped at the other end and even whistled. "So who’s the guy? Was it that Russell? He looked so handsome tonight! Man! I should have attended the dinner. I could’ve stolen a kiss from him-"

"Eww! A guy wearing clip-on tie? Like I would even agree for a coffee date with him! Yuck!" Talia stuck her tongue out.

"What a snob!" Rebecca harrumphed. "So how was it? You never told me how big that ginger is... " Rebecca turned curious. "I remember my first time... It was in our barn. I was fifteen, he was eighteen... Our cows were watching.... And boy, that was awkward to say the least!...."

Rebecca went on and all Talia could think of was the age. If she was fifteen and he was eighteen, isn’t that statutory r*pe?

"... Why aren’t you talking? Did something go wrong? Did that soul stealing ginger hurt you? Forced you? Tell me so that I can punch his face! You’re in the hotel right? I’m coming there right now. How dare he hurt you? "

Talia could hear Rebecca gritting her teeth. Rebecca had gotten really mad.

"Eh... Um... That..." Talia took in a deep breath and explained everything with very few words, holding back the details.

"Oh... That’s..." Rebecca searched for words, "Was this his first?"

"Yep!" Talia agreed.

"Dear me! How cute of you two!" Rebecca giggled. "He must have gotten too excited, so he climaxed sooner. Don’t worry.... He’d get better... Trust me, it would get better the more you do it.. You’ll need time to adjust to his and then... Trust me, you’d feel like heaven."

"I thought there was something wrong with me... I felt really good when he... When he used his digits... and then...."

"Hahaha... Is his willy as thin as his finger, idiot?" Rebecca couldn’t help but laugh from the other end.

What kind of friend did I get? She’s a twelve year old! No, not even twelve year old... I knew much better when I was twelve!

"Wait... It really isn’t right?" Rebecca’s tone got a bit serious.

"But...he seems angry now..." Talia was relieved a bit that this is something normal.

"Angry? What did he say? Or did you say something? Did you two talk about it?" Rebecca asked.

"Well, he didn’t say anything. I...I didn’t say anything either.... except when it ended...."

"What did you say, Tallie..?" Rebecca asked sensing Talia’s hesitation.

"At the moment I was disappointed a bit and I said ’ that’s it?’ I don’t know... It just came out... Was it wrong?" Talia felt her heartbeat racing as she felt she might have really done something stupid.

"Oh, honey... Bless your heart!" Rebecca said and Talia felt her soul leaving her body.

That bad?

Rebecca rarely says ’Bless your heart’. And when she says it, there must have been a very stupid person in front of her.

I’m a stupid person?

"Couldn’t you’ve faked ’it’ and said ’Baby you’re so good’ or something? Tallie... Dear..." Rebecca was too stunned for words.

"Really?" Talia felt overwhelmed. "He could understand, right?" she asked pitifully.

"Understand?" Rebecca spoke softly,"Men will consider it an attack on their pride and coming from the woman he loves, he might even lose all his confidence. Get back to him and talk to him if he haven’t commited suicide yet. Luckily you were vague and you can turn it around. Just talk, it would be fine... Go to him. Aww... Now I feel pity for him and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. You weren’t wrong either... Just stupid. What to say, it’s not like you have an elder sister like I have, to tell you these things... At least I should have talked to you about it... Sigh! Umm, that’s right... I’d expect more juicy details-"

Talia ended the call.
