The temperature was just right inside the luxury Rolls-Royce Phantom car. Other than the soothing music playing inside, there was no other sound; the sound of the engine was not heard much less the sound of traffic.

The spa mode was on in the leather seat and Arthur’s defined fingers were holding an ice pack over his cheek that was swollen by the slap he received from his father.

Jordan who was sitting beside Jordan which was usual for him since they usually discuss their plans in this extremely private place one can ever find anywhere. There was a electrochromatic partition between the driver seat and the back seat and with one push of the button, the plain partition glass turns opaque. Not only that, another push of the button pulls a dark blind over the windows and there are lights on the roof like scattered stars.

To be honest, Jordan was jealous of Arthur. That day he was standing beside Arthur when Jerome Brunton asked Arthur about his plans for buying a new car.

Artbur wasn’t even surprised to find out that Jerome had invaded his privacy and found out about it, but explained his wish to buy a convertible sports car. He made sure he wanted to buy with his own money.

"Oh," Jerome said and the next day the car Arthur wished for was in the garage, along with this car.

Jordan was there in the garage when Jerome gave Arthur the cars. Apparently he didn’t hear or refused to accept Arthur’s wish to buy it with his own money.

Then it was Jordan’s turn to hear the most egregious thing he has heard in his entire life and it was Jerome who said it.

"Do you like it Artie?" Jerome said giving the keys for the sports car.

"Good, good!" Jerome said and he was more happier than Arthur seeing the smile in his face.

Arthur was standing flabbergasted by what Jerome said and Jordan had his jaw dropped.

Seriously? This rich old man bought an actual car as a toy to play with inside his house? My father won’t even buy me a model of this car to play with! That teeny tiny model that costs a lot...

The McAllister family is a well-off family too. But Jordan could never imagine his father spending a million dollar for a car and that too for just driving inside the house!

Of course Arthur tried to change Jerome’s mind and tried to make him return the car, but Jerome then played the abandoned grandfather who had no one to spend his money. His granddaughter, his only relative left him alone in this big mansion and she doesn’t even spend his money and his money is all getting rusty and so on and so forth.

Man! Why don’t I have a relative like that?

Jerome just acted like an abandoned puppy right in front of his face and in the end Arthur had to take those two cars; one for himself to drive inside the castle grounds and this car now they are riding for going outside.

Of course Arthur cannot drive outside and only can be driven by a chauffer.

And women... He has cupid’s favour in that department too. First it was Talia and now it is Sophia who is pushed to his lap. Not to mention the countless women willing to have a piece of him...

Some people are just lucky to have it all!

"How long are you going to stare at me like that?" Arthur’s lazy voice made Jordan flinch out of his thoughts.

"Hmpf! Who wants to look at you? Did your father really slap you?" Jordan who didn’t know why he was so angry at Arthur today, asked to provoke him.

Arthur leaning leisurely on his seat, didn’t mind Jordan’s provocation. "Jordan, If you don’t want to work for me, you can quit. I won’t accept any mistakes from you. You know what I hate the most... Don’t make the mistake of crossing me. Sleep in it before you reply," he said in a deep voice, it was almost a rumble.

Jordan opened his mouth to answer, but in the end decided to not say anything. He himself knew he’s been acting like an incompetent idiot for the past few hours; like he was not all there. He questioned his motives and even jabbed at him.

He is his assistant who is supposed to do what he is asked without asking questions. It is not his job to test his motives. No wonder Arthur is angry at him.

Arthur never tolerates incompetence.

Jordan leaned back on that comfortable seat and took a deep breath. There is a reason he worked with Arthur. It is because he knew his potential. Plus the pay is extremely generous. There is no way he is going to lose his job for some jealousy.

He scrolled through his phone for finding out anything interesting happening.

"Your engagement news with Sophia Clairmont is already out, Arthur!" Jordan almost screamed in Arthur’s ears. "There are already people posting in our social media page... Some are congratulating and there are some cussing you even...."

Arthur’s fingers holding the ice pack trembled a bit as his lashes quivered. "They couldn’t even wait, huh?" he mumbled with a sigh. They just want to trap him and make him not want to back off from his word and so they leaked this information this soon. He haven’t even reached home yet!

Jordan sent those women who wanted to be romance story authors warning messages and those posts were quickly deleted by them. They did want to help their friend but they didn’t want to destroy themselves for that.

But there were screenshots taken by some and it all circulated through the Internet. And new stories of how they met and how Arthur’s true love was Sophia all along circulated.

Most congratulated Arthur for getting over the great monster Talia and getting together with the elegant and dainty Sophia. Some were in awe of Arthur for playing a nice game in getting the Brunton wealth without the burden of marrying the monster.

But there were some comments who weren’t happy that the Council could decide marriage alliances and frowned about the power they hold. Some even raised theories about Arthur colluding with the Council for doing something fishy to bring down Northern Star.

There were a very few comments feeling bad for Talia among those sea of negative comments about her too. Those who supported Talia replied them that she had dodged a bullet and that she doesn’t need a man and so on and so forth.
