A crowd of haphazard youths, dancing and shouting while performing all sorts of crazy dance moves was what he expected. But contrary to that, he was welcomed by ambient music playing in the background.

Max’s eyes scanned the place taking in the chaos vibrant energy, catching a few details in sight.

Taking in more details, Max saw a long row of single seats to the side near the bar. And to the left, there was a big dance floor which seemed yet to be used since it was just the beginning of the party.

Just right above him, he raised his head to see a pavement extended to form a lounge. To the side he spotted two stairs that would lead up. However at this moment there was a commotion on one of the stairs. Two male youths who were trying to walk up the stairs were obstructed by three other youth’s who stood guarding the stairs.

"What the fuck do you mean? You’re stopping us from going to the lounge?"

"You must be kidding." their angered voice raged, attracting the attention of majority of those present.

"Hmmm." One the three who stood guarding the stairs nodded, showing disdain at the other two.

"Bastards, you think your father bought this place for us." Appearing aggressive, one the youths wanted to force his way through but was composedly held back.

"As expected,there are always fools who tend to embarrass themselves every year." Not far to his left, Max glanced at the girl who said it.

Holding onto a small vape, she half crossed her arms while staring at the commotion with disdain, like she was watching two pigs scramble for food.

Despite her unfamiliar face, Max found her beauty captivating and took his time to check her out.

She was wearing a blue classic gown that stopped on her knees. Clueless about the details that fashioned, his eyes swept down appreciatively to her heels.

However as he was about to check out aspects, breasts and ass, he caught sight of her eyes staring at him.

"Oh- over there." Removing the vape from her mouth, she pointed at a bright section of the floor he had skipped. There a mountain of wrapped gift boxes could be seen.

"Thanks." Nodding in response, he was about to turn back when he saw a figure rushing towards him, then brushed his shoulders in a provocative manner.

"Hi babe, I’m sorry I wanted to surprise you, so I’m late."

Placing a kiss on the girl’s lips, he gave her a short hug before turning to glancing at him with unhidden animosity.

"And who is this?"

The girl looked stunned for a moment, surprised by the boy’s arrival before ushering a smile and hugged him.

"Him?" She threw a silent glance at Max, her tone suddenly changing to a distant one. Appearing to be lost for a moment-

"Oh, he was asking where to drop that."

As she pointed at the mountain of gifts, the guy nodded with disdain evident in his eyes.

"Another A Rank bump." His expression turned scornful, shaking his head as he wrapped his hand tighter around the girl’s waist.

"Let’s go babe , or else his loser presence will diminish your elegance."

Pulling her softly they both turned to leave, however just after three steps the boy turned to look at him.

"Also next time, Don’t pull up your life savings and try to impress anyone. Country bumpkin." Revealing a sneer, he turned and tightened his grip on the girl’s waist.

Speechlessly staring at the departing couples who seemed to have used him to make up, Max calmly nudged the bridge of his glass. "There goes bro code." He scoffed, "Not like I was that interested in her either. Hopefully you two have an actual solid relationship or you practice acting to be a great couple some more."

The girl had shown interest earlier but upon the appearance of her boyfriend who distinctively had a flower fragrance on him, she acted distant.

’Wait- was she sniffing him when she hugged him?’ Remembering her distant look,he couldn’t help but shake his head.

A clean, neat jaw breaking sound could be heard from one the stairs that led to the lounge.

"Ahhhh!"
