SSS Ranked Taboo Student -
Chapter 49: -Hero makes an Exit-
Chapter 49: -Hero makes an Exit-
’Hehehe.’
Feeling the breeze swiftly brush past his visor, filling his helmet. Rocking doom of his legs propelling him forward.
He curled his lips into a smile.
The group of S Ranked Students tailing him were so lost in wanting to break his bones that they failed to realize he was making them play a show.
His stamina having been forged by the System’s arduous daily Quest for more than one year wasn’t something they could compare to.
’It isn’t that I have some kind of explosive speed but because I am able to push out my top speed and able to withstand the fatigue from it.’
Although it was only a rough judgement... His simulation of the System’s Quest back then to his current stats made him realize a lot of things.
His 20.4 Strength Stat was equal to the strength of average boxers.
His agility was severely lacking.
His Stamina, basically endurance was the accumulation of his resolve, and the ability to go through those quests.
He couldn’t judge which level it was currently at, but after running through half of the field, he felt it was natural. His breathing rate barely changed.
"Yo! What is that?!"
"Shit! Is he playing with them?"
" His speed..."
The spectacular scene of the opposing player being lead across the field and yet to realize they were running in a circular manner.
On the S Elites spectator seats. Their free casual look had turned solemn with a grave frown settling on it.
"What are they doing?"
Suddenly a blonde haired sophomore youth said, raising the glass of champagne in his hands with clenched teeths.
At the same time, on the field, Max pulled to an abrupt halt and turned back to face his incoming pursuers who now looked tired and enraged as they charged, furiously recovering distance.
By now, almost all the eleven members of the opposing team were heading towards him.
A brutal tackle was about to happen. Max knew this and his gaze steeled behind the visor of his helmet. Staring at the incoming bulls.
’Of course, I am not superman. Although my stamina barely has a dent from all the running, my strength is 15 whole points behind it.’
’So...’ He glanced at the timer, at this moment they had less than a minute left before the quarter ended. And the whole charade of running home wasn’t to make fun of the opposing team, but to buy time.
Time for Storm and a few others to recover.
He smiled, for the first time since stepping into the field. His expressionless face changed, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Instantly the spectating crowd realized what was going to happen next.
Their mouths open in awe.
Most of the S Ranked Elites on the opposite side, stood up in shock.
Surprise and indignation bloomed in their eyes as they gazed at the field.
Of course the charging bulls, and those that had spread out to block any escape route Max had against their charge soon realized the oddity in the atmosphere and glanced back to see that groaning players they left behind had risen.
Each signaling for a pass to be made.
"Gotcha..."
The two players that had gotten approximately close to Max, enough to lock in a spear take down, heard him blurt these words. Not caring of their incoming attack. He shoved the ball into the air with all his might. Mirroring the familiar image in his head, that of his past life as a kid who loved gridiron more than his crush.
The ball shot through the air, across the field in a spectacular manner. Drawing silence through the whole field.
Bang!
A firm palm obstructed its path and grabbed it.
"Go!"
The rest of the team seeing this shouted in sync.
Without dandling, Storm burst forth with explosive speed and might. There was an opposing team player who thought it was fortunate he hadn’t gone in...
Bang!
Before he could think further, Storm had reached his front and slammed him to the side before he could react.
As the opposition player was sent thumbling like a rock.
Storm stormed forward like a swift gale with thunderous momentum. Under the strain of adrenaline he quickly covered the remaining yards.
With less than five seconds remaining...
He scored a touchdown and kicked the ball past the goal post, earning an extra.
On the opposite end of the field, as Storm dashed forward. Max was overwhelmed with echoes of pain as his body was slammed to the ground with brutal force.
The two players actually coordinated their viciousness and struck him.
As he lost himself to the law of inertia...
PEEP!
He heard the sharp whistle blow, signifying an end to the final quarter of the game.
"Bastard"
As he struggled to recover from the pain, he heard one of the two people that struck him down mutter a vicious curse.
’Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I overdid myself.’ feeling the pain in his abdomen lessen, he heard the excited chants of the spectating student.
’Here is where I make my exit.’ He thought, making way to the empty technical area and picked up his tracksuits.
"Yes!!!"
"We fucking did it!"
"Kiss my ass you S Ranked Bastard!"... Several curses and shouts reverberated out loud as the opposite spectators started dismissing quickly for unknown reasons.
From a despairing count of 26-6, the game ended 26-20. Though they still lost. It counted as a victory considering who they were up against and how they scored 14 points in less than ten minutes...
Meanwhile, in hindsight the true hero who fell under the tackle of the opposition was temporarily forgotten.
Those who saw Max figure dashing off the field and tried to signal the rest were quickly drowned in the jubilation and shouts.
On the other end of the field, Storm who had collapsed after the rush of adrenaline disappeared weakly stood up and searched with his eyes for Max, but to no avail did he find him.
Soon, the rest of the teammates gathered. Including the injured ones from the tactical area, realized the lone figure. Their game changer was nowhere to be found.
"Where is he?"
